As yes, the dawn of a new season is upon us folks, can you feel it? I can feel it. I feel excited, happy, scared, I want to win a Founders Cup this season as this will be Dimothenis Vlasis last year in the VHLM. The chances of this happening are very good but to put in perspective I will preview a team in the VHLM that went from a also ran to a powerhouse almost overnight.

Centers

Many of the people around the VHL know of "fever95" and know the kind of players he brings in aka Anatoli Zhumbayev. "AZ" as being liked to call him was a great player during his time in Toronto and "AZ" recently won a Continental Cup with this Toronto team. He retired on top of the mountain and moved on to greener pastures in the NHL where the Carolina Hurricanes held his rights via draft. Tyson Stokes was drafted by the Brampton Blades this year in the VHLM Dispersal Draft, going in the 1st round, 2nd overall. Tyson is different from "AZ" because he for the time being is more defensive than offensive. He is a very swift skater and adept passer.

Hunter Backenbauer and his agent "Banjo" are new to me. I don't know Banjo, so I can't really say what kind of player I think he will be. All I can say is that he will be a great player like most, if he just shows up to practice every day. Hunter was also drafted in the VHLM Dispersal Draft, going in the 1st round, 10th overall.

Left Wing

Just like "fever95", many know the agency of "Koradek". Tyrone Williams happens to be one of those lucky players to be scouted and signed to this agency. Kora (for short) has decided to go outside the box with this signing though as Williams is primarily a fighter / goon. Like I said, he's a fighter so he has great fighting skills, but that is not all as he is a fast skater. He also has a nose for the net and he just knows how to score. Tyrone Williams was drafted by the Blades in the Season 38 VHLM Dispersal draft, 1st round, 6th overall.

Hudson Backenbauer is the 2nd of the Backenbauer brothers and is a little rawer than his brother. He has good skating and passing but the rest is a work in progress. He also has worked on a little strength in the gym. He too, like the others I talked about before him, was drafted in the Season 38 VHLM Dispersal Draft in the 2nd round, 12th overall.

The last left wing is Oli Brunnstrom and he was a good solider last year and played on a very weak Brampton team. In 72 games he scored just 9 goals and assisted on 9 for a grand total of 18 points. He wasn't that badly over exposed though, as he just 82 hits. He averaged about 21 per game but finished with a team worst -27. All in all, Brunnstrom is being brought back in a lesser role this year. Brunnstrom was drafted by the Blades in the Season 35 VHLM Dispersal Draft, 2nd round, 20th overall.

Right Wing

As little as May 13th, Brampton claimed Sam Keeler that really shored up the weak RW position. He claimed Sam Keeler who is a player of the "Kyle" agency. The player you will definitely know of is Ansgar Snjider; he was an agent of "Kyle". Brampton hopes that he will turn out to be better than Snjider, but those are some pretty big shoes to fill, as Tomas Valiq, who wasn't that bad but obviously didn't live up to the hype as the next great thing Snjider was.

The talent really falls off after Keeler as we have another good solider of last year's team with Mirko Draisatl. Mirko actually did worse than Brunnstrom and with 9 goals and 7 assists for 16 points. He wasn't always on the Blades though, as he was drafted in the Season 37 VHLM Dispersal Draft by the Turku Outlaws in the 3rd round, 26th overall. Before the season started though, he was traded to Brampton for Hanz Backenbauer. This year though he will definitely play a lesser role.

Andrew Sorensen is another left over from last year team. In 72 games he scored 5 goals and assisted on 18 for 23 points. This was also good enough for 3rd in team scoring. The good news ends there as he was tied for 2nd worst on the team with a -23 rating. Sorenson was drafted by the Blades in the Season 37 VHLM Dispersal Draft going in the 4th round, 31st overall.

Daniel Acker was drafted to the Blades in the Season 38 VHLM Dispersal draft going in the 3rd round, 22nd overall. Not much is expected by Acker so he will mostly fill in a depth role.

Defenseman

This was strength already for the Blades but in a surprising fashion, GM "Toast" announced that the Blades acquired David Januzaj from the Bratislava Watchmen for a Season 40 Brampton 1st Round Draft Pick. Januzaj as we all know lead the VHLM in scoring last season scoring a remarkable 207 points. Januzaj has three things going for him that make him a hockey god in the VHLM; he has scoring, defense and skating going. He put those altogether nicely and performs every night. Those aren't the only things that he has going, he is also a very good puck-handler and he is quite decent in the passing department. Put all those things together with the right team-mates you get 207 points.

Triton Jackson will be the other part of solid 1st pairing "Toast" has put together. On May 6th, 2014, "Toast" acquired Jackson along with Herman Mudgett from the Yukon Rush for Brampton's Season 39 1st Round Draft Pick. Jackson last season played with the Rush and finished with 24 goals and 70 assists for 94 points. This is very good considering the depth of the Rush. That is not all though, Jackson leads the Rush in +/- with a +96 rating. Jackson like Januzaj focuses on scoring, defense and skating. The only thing that is quite not up to par with those three attributes is his checking but that is average.

This somewhat "Big 3" ends with Bodie Broadus. He was the team leader in the lost season last year. In 72 games, he scored 11 goals and assisted on 32 for 43 points. That leads the team in scoring. He was drafted by the Blades way back in the Season 32 VHLM Dispersal Draft going in the 2nd round, 12th overall. He has a quick pit stop in Bratislava 2 years ago before deciding to come back home to the Brampton Blades last season. He signed 2 years ago worth a grand total of 200K. Teams were offering more but he wanted to come back home to the team that drafted him.

Herman Mudgett was acquired with Triton Jackson on May 6th, 2014 from the Yukon Rush for Brampton's Season 39 1st Round Draft Pick. Not going to lie if the Blades don't win a championship, acquiring 3 players with a total of 346 TPE for just your Season 39 + 40 1st Round Draft Pick, then you are a shrewd negotiator. Mudgett and Jackson both won a Founder Cup last year with the Rush and look to do so again this season with the Blades.

Kaspars Tsizling was drafted by the Brampton Blades in the Season 35 VHLM Dispersal Draft going in the 1st round, 10th overall. Not going to lie this was a pretty bust of a 1st round pick even in the weak draft class that was Season 35. Tsizling finished last year with 16 goals which lead the team and 22 assists for 38 points.

Goalie

Vladimir Bodnar started his career with the Bern Royals after being drafted in the 3rd round, 25th overall. He was drafted in the Season 33 VHLM Dispersal Draft. After spending his career with Bern he became a free agent and was signed by the Brampton Blades last year. In the lost season that was he went 9-61-2. He has a save percentage of 0.897 and a G.A.A of 5.01. The save percentage speaks volumes of his talent as he is one of the better VHLM goalies.

Overview

The Brampton Blades are definitely all in on the season after acquiring David Januzaj and Triton Jackson for future 1st round draft picks. They also were able to draft Tyson Stokes, Tyrone Williams and the Backenbauer brothers. On top of all that they claimed Sam Keeler who has an agent of "Kyle” who says he is back and hungry to produce another player. This will be a very interesting season for the Brampton Blades who sucked in recent memory who are trying to climb out of the VHLM basement right into the penthouse

You know your team is too fucking good when someone on another team has to write an article about us.

Or does that mean we're lazy?

I was going to do the whole N.A Conference but i got to lazy and just went with Brampton because theyre going to win anyway :P

1,653 words. Many strengths with this article, but the negatives took front and center. What I mean by that is, aside from the grammar, you switches tenses from 1st to 3rd person periodically throughout and I found that you kind of regurgitated the same lines here and there, which became repetitive.

Grammar: .25/2

Not going to sugar coat it here; despite the word count, this wasn't a great area of strength. There are way too many mistakes here.

Founders = Founder's

Vlasis last = Vlasis' last

put in = put it in

a = an

Draisatl = Draisaitl (x2)

as being liked = as he likes

held = hold

via draft = via the draft

because he for the first time = because he, for the first time,

solider = soldier ?

as he just 82 hits = as he had just 82 hits

claimed Sam Keeler that really shored up the weak RW position. = ....Keeler, which really shored up...

Snjider = Snijider (x3)

He claimed Sam Keeler who is a player of the "Kyle" agency. The player you will definitely know of is Ansgar Snjider; he was an agent of "Kyle".  = repetitious material

and with = with

last year team = last years team

draft = Draft

This was strength already for the Blades = This [defense] was already the strength for the Blades

lead = led (x2)

season scoring = season, scoring

performs = performed

with the right team-mates you get = ...and you get...

leads the Rush = led the Rush (he can't lead them them anymore, he doesn't play for them anymore)

has = had (x2)

Not going to lie if = Not going to lie, if

Founder Cup = Founder's Cup

who are = and are

VHLM basement right into the penthouse = didn't finish the sentence with a period

Aside from the one logo, some underlining and bolding, I actually would have liked to have seen a picture or two.

Jesus, long article. I agree with Slobo that it does read strangely because of the constant switching between first and third person, but, for the most part I think you did a decent job of explaining why Brampton is so strong. I'm not going to dock you here, because I think you've put enough effort into the actual content of the article, despite the grammatical errors and how it reads.

Grammar: .25/2

Slobo found them all. This was definitely a big step down from your last number of articles, unfortunately. Its mostly all stupid things, but they really added up in this one. If I had any advice for you, it would be to shorten up your articles and take your time. I'd rather read a 500 word article with perfect grammar/readability than a 2000 word article that isn't proofed enough. I believe quality over quantity is the kicker here.

Appearance: 1/1

You have enough here.

FINAL: 4/6
