Top Five Titans Questions

Will Landon Roberts pan out?

Landon Roberts was perceived to be a signing strictly to get the Helsinki Titans to the cap floor. While it did do the job, this signing could have more meaning. GM Wong had Landon Roberts playing for him in Bratislava of the VHLM, and reportedly he was very highly rated in that system. It seems that it cannot be a coincidence that a couple seasons later Lando is given his big break and it is at the hands of his former GM. Reports have surfaced that some Helsinki scouts have Landon Roberts projected as a future 2nd line contributor. We'll see how this year goes..

Is Don Draper overrated or underrated?

Critics have spoken - is Don Draper the top three caliber prospect? At the day of the draft Calgary and Seattle both decided to go with other options than Don Draper at 2nd overall. After the draft the Pajodcast gave Don Drapers selection the ONLY "Nay" of the entire draft... This has led many to believe that the Don Draper hype, is just hype. Helsinki has reported with the opposite opinion. The believe that Draper could very well turn out to be their best defensive prospect - and when looking at their system with Jake Wylde and Vojczek Svoboda (two generational defenseman) that is high praise. Draper is set to return to the VHLM, so this question will have to wait for another year.

Is Chris Raymond and Dexter Morgan VHL-ready?

It was highly speculated that both Dex Morgan and Chris Raymond would be starting their VHL career this year. However, after training camp, the Titans decided to send both players down for another year in the minors. While they are both slated to tear up the league along with Don Draper, many wonder if this will stunt their development. Morgan and Raymond are expected to have huge years and to prove without a doubt that they are ready next year.

Will Kimmo Salo continue his success from last season?

Salo has had a lot of pressure put on him since being drafted 7th overall in the S37 Draft. Immediately he was labelled as the franchise goalie.- what did he do? Absolutely demolish the VHLM in every single goaltending category. Not only did he clean up at the award ceremony he led his team to playoffs and then to a Founder's Cup. The big question is will this success continue and translate into the VHL. He has the defensive support to make it happen, but many have questioned Salo's concentration and ability to be the go-to guy. Helsinki has always allowed the on-ice performance of Salo to speak on his defense... This could be a ROTY sleeper pick.

Is #CAPHELL inevitable?

The Titans are loaded up on players from the S37 and S38 Draft. Not only that but they also have five more 1sts in the S39 Draft. So that begs the question, are their players too closely grouped together, and and the going to grow and hit their prime contract bracket at the same time? There are many solutions to a problem every team wants to be in. It is still early to be making claims like this, but with two great drafts under their belts and one more fool-proof draft next season, this theory has to be considered a possibility.
