S71 has finally come to a close for the Vancouver Wolves as they were eliminated in the 2nd round of the playoffs against their rival, the Seattle Bears. While the team looks ahead to S72 from the sidelines, I wanted to reflect on Jimmy Spyro’s performances before he walks down the tunnel as the franchise’s next starter.

Since being called up to the big leagues, Spyro has held down the Wolves back-up position for these past 2 seasons and only played a total of 25 games in the regular season and 1 playoff game in S70. In those 2 seasons, he played 14 games in S70 and even less last season (S71) with 11 but managed to put up some astonishing numbers despite his lack of starts. In 11 games he had an 8-2-1 win/ loss record with 1 shutout, ranked up a 0.938 save %, and had an amazing 1.78 GAA. Adding these on to his previous numbers, his VHL career statistics are: 17-5-2 win/ loss record, with a 0.930 save %, a 1.98 GAA, and 3 shutouts in 25 regular season games played (only starting in 24 of them).

With Spyro re-signing a long term deal with the Wolves organization and the retirement of fellow goaltender Finn Davison, we are excited to see Spyro get the opportunity to be the Wolves starting goalie for seasons to come.
