This is pretty late I know, but maybe you weekend warriors can help me out. :P

---

The VHLM has been running with the Co-GM idea for a couple of seasons now. There have been quite a few successful co-GMs in the league who have gone on to GM their own VHLM teams. There have also been some pretty bad failures as well. Guys who go inactive after taking the job come to mind.

The jobs aren’t something that’s posted in the job postings section either. They’re just selected by the GM on a need-be basis.

We have even seen this in the big league sometimes where a GM brings in a member and shows them the ropes on the VHL side of things. While the sim is the same thing as the minors, there is a lot more business in the big leagues, which seems clear.

We have seen teams handed down by GMs to people they deem fit for the job. It isn’t something that goes to job applications often. I don’t recall a time when it did actually. While assistant GMs isn’t something that’s official in the VHL, is it something that should be adopted?

A co-GM would clearly have to come from within the team, so again no league-wide applications, but it would provide members with experience in the VHL and make it easy for when GMs need to step aside from their position.

Vote on the poll and give your thoughts like always.

I voted no.

I'm not their biggest fan. Ottawa is one of the few VHLM teams that doesn't have an Assistant GM, and I don't plan on having one in the near future. When it's known that a GM is going to step down in a season or two and the replacement is already lined up on the team, then I think they could be useful. I'm just guessing on what went on in Cologne the last couple seasons, but something like that where it was known that Kendrick would be stepping down soon and Romanes would take over would be a good case to appoint an AGM. When it comes to trades and drafting and stuff though, I know I'm only comfortable doing that myself, and I wouldn't trust anyone else to do it unless absolutely necessary.

I think its fine in the VHLM, because it can give new members a chance to get more involved/learn more about the league, but I don't see any need for them on a VHL level

Also the more figureheads in the VHLM, the more insight and help a prospect can get.

I voted No. The only reason I did it in Cologne was because I knew my time would be coming to an end and Romanes was easily the best choice at the time.
