Blazzer 759
The VHL draft is nearing and the GMs are scouting for prospects to draft so they can add to their pool of young talent. This article is not about selling Lee Xin, my agency’s first player to the GMs. This is written purely based on the odds of a team’s pick landing close to his estimated draft time. A couple of sources have suggested that Lee will get drafted in the late first or early second and that is totally fair. The article ranking the Top 50 forwards in the VHLM has placed Lee close to the bottom of the pile with estimations of him staying in the VHLM for S75. Lee has also stated that if that’s what his future VHL GM tells him, he will gladly do so. Lee is a great team player as shown in the WJC experience article. He will always want what’s best for the team but he will also weigh the consequences of doing so. No one really knows Lee well, even his friends. He’s reserved majority of the time and only talks when he feels like. However, team spirit and sportsmanship will always be in him. Lee played floorball growing up but transitioned to hockey full time when he moved to Canada. His skills and shot are an extrovert even though he’s an introvert. He scored his first VHLM goal in 2 games and from then on have continued to score and assist his teammates. During a meeting with him, he told me he was determined to reach the 30 G mark and to end the season with 60 points. That’s certainly possible but a lot of hard work has to be put in. In multiple press conferences, Lee mentioned that he doesn’t have an idea on which team he would like to get drafted by. But now, he has. During an entire VHLM season, he saw the working ethic of GMs and players alike and have found a couple of teams where he might fit right in. I use the word might because you truly wouldn’t know until you’re there, right? Talking to GMs only allow you to see the surface of the team and not know it’s players. 1. London United You might be questioning why I would agree that Lee should be part of London because they are an expansion team and will likely not be contending in S75. However, this will allow Lee to grow/cap in a VHLM team for the entire S75 and when he makes the jump, he will be in a contending team. He chose London not just because it gives him a shot at the cup but also the ethic that the team possesses. GM McWolf was interviewed before and it revealed a hardworking person managing a team, keeping the team motivated. It’s players also stuck with him through this tough journey that all expansion teams have to go through. This matches the type of spirit in Lee as well. 2. Prague Phantoms Lee doesn’t really know much about the Phantoms but still wants to join them. It’s interesting that he told me he wanted to have some fun and choose a team that he doesn’t know much about. Interesting. Prague has a large pool of young prospects like Riley Knight Gee who is dominating right now. Joining a pool of talented prospects will make this more challenging for him but I believe that he’s ready to accept that challenge. 3. Helsinki Titans Helsinki, it’s so cold there that you could get hockey almost all year. Jk alright. Helsinki has a small prospect pool but the prospects are of good quality. I guess they believe quality over quantity. Lee chose the Titans because of the opportunity to play in Europe. This opens a great window for him to learn and watch new European players. Lee has never talked to the GM there but has crossed paths with their prospect, Laine. All in all, there are many places that Lee could go to after this draft and what matters is her keeps growing no matter where he plays. A jump to the VHL next season is out of sight for now but I’m sure he’ll keep working on it. He’s been putting in lots of on and off ice time, working out but also recovering well. This is just a rough idea of where he would love to be for the rest of his VHL career but this doesn’t mean that he’s chasing other teams away.
