VHL+VHLMs Lack of Russian Presence

VHL Prospects Shawn Anderi Zyuzin, Artem Tretiak and Frank Funk Jr have all been Team Russias WJHC training camp ahead of the S75 VHL World Junior Hockey Championship.

 

The three are part of a 29-man invite list for camp, which will determine the 23 players named to the Russian National U-350 TPE Team in the coming weeks. All three took part in October's National Junior Team Evaluation Camp in Las Vegas Nevada. 

 

Funk Jr, Most likely the 2nd Forward to be picked on draft day , the unanimous #2 Forward prospect is entering his sophomore season in the M. The Russia -native was part of the S74 Ottawa Lynx squad before being drafted to San Diego last Offseason.
 

Zyuzin, Chicago's second-round pick in October's draft (22nd overall), was also a member of Russia’s National Team Development Program for two seasons and is entering his rookie season in the big apple after an impressive training camp earning a surprise roster spot.

 

Tretiak, a third-round pick of the Nighthawks (No. 39th overall) in October, was National Team Development Program member for two seasons and is in his rookie season in the Pros at Malmo for the NIghthawks in a backup role for now. He's appeared in twelve games a Starter and five Wins to date.
