Looking Forward To The Draft

Sean-Couturier-1.jpg

This is a first in a while, an article on the VHL from me! It has been a while since I truly took a career seriously in the VHL and actually wrote here. My previous player flamed out as cross-affiliation with the SBA fell through and really let to a quite unfortunate career. Following that I really only had one successful player in the VHL if you could even call Teemu Lehtinen that. Yes, I was a perennial second liner on some very solid teams, however stalling around somewhere in the 400 to 500 TPE range meant that I never truly became an elite force -- something I hope to become with this current player. I am looking to create a pure scoring Center with tremendous defensive ability along with strong skating. My thesis with this player is that I will look to shutdown my opponent while also hopefully having a very high shooting percentage. Many of my players in other hockey leagues have been pass-first players (look at Smirnov Light in the SHL back in the S12-S14 range if I remember correctly) and I would love to be a pure scorer and see how I can impact the game.

Looking towards the draft I am quite excited to see where I may end up, sadly it is not often that I enter a draft and do not have a predetermined team. The past few years I have been mainly seen on the SBA and as a General Manager I would always draft my own player, thus leaving much of the fun of having a player drafted wasted. Looking forward to this draft I will name a few teams that intrigue me and why they do. At the end of the day, my engagement here is not the highest (yet) and thus my reasoning is why those teams interest me.

Toronto Legion

This is where the fun began on the VHL, drafted by Sandro if I remember correctly and teaming up with a great friend in Green (Remy LeBeau) and to be a part of such a young and exciting core was quite amazing. This team truly helped me integrate to the VHL much more than the VHLm did, and hopefully wherever I end next season can do the same. I have faith in their management and believe that I would have a great time integrating to Toronto.

Quebec Meute (Vancouver Wolves)

This team interests me mainly from its history. From my time when I was most active this team was first added to the league and had many members who I was friends with. The current General Manager is an admin and I have zero doubt that the team would be ran well.

Chicago Phoenix

A team with minimal history (I assume given the lack of clicks on their link) however the intrigue here really is behind their management as well as the team being in Chicago. It is a team that I would definitely be interested in and one that would keep me active for sure.

Warsaw Predators

Another team I am interested in mainly due to their management, I would love to be reconnected with Muffins and hopefully compete at a high level. I am not the biggest fan of playing for a team in Warsaw, however the concept for the team does look cool.

Good article. Could provide current player statistics to strengthen why each team would choose you. You showed great interest in a few teams but would they think the same? Good use of colour coding and structuring of article. 8.5/10
