KnightRiley 72
With this Media spot I will be looking at the Prague Phantoms rookie prospects, how they've done so far in there career up to now and what it means to Prague in the upcoming seasons, sorting them by the tpe they have now Robert Bouchard Tpe 311 - Philadelphia Reapers - Drafted 24th overall Starting off with Robert Bouchard, a young 16 year old Centreman who signed with the Minnesota Storm halfway through the season. In those games he was almost a point per game player with 27 points, 14 goals and 13 assists, showing even early on in his VHLM career what skill he had. Ending the season with a -21 on a bad Minnesota team was to be expected and doesn't showcase his full skill. Season 75 showcased Bouchard being drafted by the Philadelphia Reapers 7th overall. This season we saw the Reapers finish first in the western division and second overall in the VHLM With Bouchard leading the team in points with 109 points, 46 goals and 63 assists becoming the 3rd league leader in points, one point behind second place and five behind the first. Ending the season with a +/- 46 and more then doubling his shots, with only 18 penalty minutes he's not much of a goon and has managed to stay out of the box more then the majority of the season and has 7 game winning goals with 10 power play goals. To me he's looking like a future 1c playmaker being able to make plays that allows his team to gain leads but also finding opportunities for himself to score. Prague will be happy to have him come up into the VHL next season and will be a great asset alongside John LeClair and Thomas Landry, also along with the next upcoming Prague rookie Dominic Gobeil. With how fast Robert Bouchard is growing he will quickly become Pragues first line centreman and future superstar. Dominic Gobeil Tpe 300 - Mexico City Kings - Drafted 46th overall Also a late joiner into the season Dominic signed with the Saskatoon Wild playing two more games then Bouchard. In 34 games he didn't have the start Bouch did but the Wild were a worse team at the time compared to Minnesota, five points, one goal and 4 assist with a -10, not the best but joining late into the VHLM it doesn't really mean that much. Season 75 we saw him being drafted 28th overall to the Houston Bulls. There he put up 47 points in 46 games played, 22 goals and 25 assists. A highlight on the Bulls who weren't doing the greatest in the standings which led to him being traded to the Mexico City Kings. Not sure what happened there with his point production, with only adding 3 goals and 5 assist in the rest of the season it may be the line he was on or maybe sths didn't like him, but come time that play offs start im sure Gobiel will be a big reason Mexico does great. My expectations Of Gobiel is that he will be another great addition into the Prague lineup and with the help of the older wingers hell be able to grow his game to another level. His build so far is a pass first player and i am expecting him to play alongside Bouchard well into there years as a Prague Phantom. They'll both play well off each other hopefully as Prague's two-headed beast and be the other superstar alongside the other. Silas Lefriend Tpe 247 - Saskatoon Wild - Drafted 40 overall Season 74 saw huge group of people join and Silas Lefriend was another that joined. The 6'3' Defenseman Signed with the Saskatoon Wild midway into the season notching himself 20 points, 4 goals and 16 assists with a +20 in 38 games played. The Wild finished 5th in the rankings and I'm sure the young defender was a great signing that helped them get there, they lost in the first round but Silas was over a point per game with 6 and helped them win a game. Going into season 75 Silas Lefriend was drafted back into the Saskatoon Wild and was over a point per game this season with them netting 14 goals, 63 assists for 77 points in the season. His improvement helped the Wild finish one up from the last season ending 4th in the rankings and going into this seasons play offs he'll be a big reason they have a chance to win it all. His build judging from the 63 assists allows him to be a playmaking defender while not shrugging his play in his own end with 183 hits and 76 shots blocked. With Seabass Perrin and Wolf Stansson Jr retiring next season it will be a big help having the young defender come into Prague blue line. As Lefriend keeps growing he'll step in the skates of Prague's great Perrin and Stansson. Michael Fletcher Tpe 250 - Saskatoon Wild - Drafted 53rd overall The final prospect of Pragues was not made with there own pick, originally drafted by the Chicago Phoenix the Phantom GM traded a season 76 4th round pick for Fletcher that if my memory is correct, he is to be the back goaltender too Woody McPine and to be the starter after his retirement. The 6'0" Goalie signed with the San Diego Marlins pretty early into the season 74, with 61 games played with them he won only 9 games and a whopping 47 losses, this season San Diego was the worst in the VHLM with his 9 wins and 2 more additional losses in the season. Season 75 he was drafted 44th overall to the Saskatoon Wild where he saw major improvement to his game racking up 39 wins and 23 losses in 64 games played. With a little three more games played this season he let in 19 fewer goals from the season before and ended the season with a .875 save percentage. i don't know fuck all about goalie stats but his goaltending along with great forwards and defense allowed them to finish 4th in the VHLM standings and forth in goalie league goalie stats. With Michael Fletcher coming up next season to play alongside Woody McPine he will be able to grow alongside the other young goaltender and with there goaltending abilities with the other prospects coming up they will be the future of Prague that will finally get them into play offs contention and hopefully be a contender to take it all home. With Pragues disappointing end to the season with not being able to get into the play offs, one thing they can look forward to is watching there upcoming prospects in the VHLM play offs, these prospects have the ability and the growth that can change Prague Phantoms future for the better and take them to the next level needed to succeed in the upcoming seasons. 1161 words claiming for this week and next week Gaikoku-hito, DMaximus, Dom and 1 other 2 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/97042-prague-phantom-prospects/ Share on other sites
