Where Will Welch Go In The Draft?

With the VHL Draft looming closer and closer being only a few days away, the most common questions for most of the prospects are going to be along the lines of:

 

"I wonder what team will pick me up?"

 

"Will I go First Round? Or am I going to slip?"

 

"I hope I get drafted to the team that has *insert best friend here*"

 

However, for Kristof Welch, it's a less of Where, and more of When.

 

"I am going to be absolutely thrilled wherever I go, and I hope that the team that picks me up knows that.", Kristof begins with. "I've said it in all my interviews, no matter where I get selected, I am ready to be that franchise piece for the team that values me enough to use their draft pick on me."

 

Although most prospects will probably say something similar, there is a tone in Welch's voice that really hammers in that he truly feels this.

 

"I want a team to pick me up, hopefully bring me up to the VHL as soon as next season - whether it's bottom pairing minutes or more ice time - and I want to show that I'll be apart of the team from the time I step on the ice to the time I lace my skates up for the very last time in the league. The team that selects me will not be disappointed, and I will prove them I'm worth every last worthiness of their draft pick and allowing me to put on the crest of their team on the front of my jersey."

 

"Am I anxious for the draft? Yes, I think anyone who says otherwise would be lying. Am I confident in my ability to be ready to play in the VHL? Absolutely."
