Sixersfan594 247
Dropped... Like A Stone The 76th Victory Hockey League came and went and I was picked 16th overall, a far cry from where I was drafted in the VHLm. I had much lower expectations while I was in the minor leagues and going 78th overall when it was not exclusively my draft class being selected seemed more realistic. Meanwhile I truly did not believe that I would fall as far as to the end of the first round -- and all the power to my current team as they were able to get me at a value that I perceived lower than what I deserved. Having been the 10th highest earner thus far in the draft, to be picked at 16th was interesting as people know where my ceiling is as long as SBA-VHL affiliation will not abruptly end yet again. Prior to the draft I talked to very few General Managers and legitimately thought I would be gone in the middle of the first round given some of the conversations I had with various General Managers as well as them mentioning that they would look into trading up/back in to the draft in order to acquire me. To be completely honest, I do understand that I have my own red flags, however I truly did not expect to be passed upon 15 times in this draft and am extremely happy to have been drafted by the Vancouver Wolves and to play for Beaviss. Coming into the draft I knew he teams that were interested in me and I legitimately was most interested in the Wolves due to their history (formerly the Meuete) as well as my relationships with previous managers there. Due to their recent success I know that I can put my faith in their management and know that my player will be put in the best position to succeed. Coming into the draft I expected to be stuck at 250 and play another year in the VHLm however I am excited to get my VHL journey started already and know that I have what it takes to be serviceable in my first year. Knowing that I will have to take a major step to be a solid piece in the VHL next year will be challenging and I will have to push myself much harder than I had previously. Having been an absolute max earner for at least over a month now has been fun and challenging and I continue to strive to reach those thresholds. While I would love to be an impact player, I understand that earning does not equal the production of the player and having a lot of STHS experience in the past I hope that I could hopefully create a plus output player quite easily. As a whole, I was extremely disappointed to fall as low as I had in the draft, despite knowing how many great members there are in my draft. I also know that falling so low in the draft is also a blessing to my current organization and I hope that I am the piece that exceeds expectations significantly in order to have the team easily jump to championship contention in the future.
