Peace 1,532
Trade negotiations started at precisely 1:34 PM between the Toronto Legion and the Helsinki Titans, at least according to an insider embedded within the Legions' management group. Initially Toronto wanted permission to talk to Odinsson, and Helsinki granted that permission after a brief understanding of what Toronto was willing to trade back to Helsinki. The cooperation between both teams resulted in a positive exchange between Odinsson's agent and the Legions' GM Rylan Peace -- so by around 9:02 PM zulu for skipper Rylan Peace -- his hockey team had completed their third trade of the season; Strauss went to Seattle for picks, Merrick went to Los Angeles for Lester Green and a pick, and now Helsinki Titan defender Gunnar Odinsson is joining the Legion in exchange for a first round pick in the upcoming VHL entry draft. Toronto has certainly been one of the more active teams in within the trade department, shipping out forwards and adding defensive depth, or at least it appears that way on paper. The reality of acquiring Gunnar Odinsson was his desire to play forward, and shortly after learning he was traded the young Norwegian rookie immediately declared he was moving to the right wing. He joined his new team that morning and took to the ice after a brief practice. Odinsson registered a primary assist on the game winning goal, his first point with Toronto, and played well in the following 2-1 loss to Warsaw later that day. Many say 'the future is bright' when looking at a teams depth, but perhaps the light at the end of this tunnel is truly illuminating.
