Blazzer 759
Offseason in S75, Lee Xin went on a trip to Vegas, Nevada. Not alone though but with his sister. Moving to play in the VHL left Xin with less time to spend with his sister. Vegas has always been touristy, busy and bustling when the sun sets. Casinos and hotels tower fill the side of the streets as limousine and cars fill the streets. The perfect place for an exciting vacation! Before setting off, Xin texts his teammates asking if anyone wants a gift. He wasn’t surprised when someone asked for a gambling set. Oh well, time to bring Las Vegas to Chicago with cards, poker and dominos. Here in Chicago, we often hang out in the facility hence gambling is a good source of entertainment. But gambling items aren’t the only thing they asked for. Alcohol and chocolates were also on the list. Really odd that no one wanted a custom-made Elvis jumpsuit. The four hour plane ride was insane. But looking out of the window made everything easier. With the air steward that got tripped up with a passenger, it was entertaining to say the least. Finally arriving in Vegas is a huge relieve. The first day started with a walk around downtown Vegas in the day and night. Walking around the museums during the day felt like a damn oven. The day passed quickly but when the sun set, that’s when the party starts. Neon lights, bars, casinos, street and car lights made the place looks so bright, you needed sunglasses. Xin and his sister sat down at a restaurant for food while each getting a drink. Day two was for hiking. Las Vegas is a desert with mountains and peaks for you to conquer. The Red Rock Canyon was on the bucket list. It’s rocks had colours that his entire family couldn’t see in Chicago. All along the trail were rocks that looked terrorizing. Looking over the observation deck, I was magical yet he felt measly. Lost in the view and the rocks, it just reminds him of how mother nature is. Don’t step in her way. IT’S KNIGHT TIME IN T-MOBILE ARENA! As a Golden Knights fan just like his sister, Xin got them tickers to watch 2 games at the home arena, against the Ducks and the Sharks. T-mobile arena is known for its insane energy that makes you shiver down the spine. The arena echoed the cheers of the fans the NHL teams battle for victory below them. With every goal the Knights score, the cheers became louder as a dominant performance by the Knights gave them 2 points to move up the standings. It’s nothing like I have experienced before. I thought the Chicago fans were loud but here, it’s 10x louder here. Once in a lifetime experience for sure. A good way to end the day with hockey in Vegas. The crowd is phenomenal and the hockey, world class. Day three was all hockey for Xin and his sister. Visiting the practice facility and meeting some of the players like Stone, Glass, Tuch and Fleury. Both Xin and his sister are hockey players hence just sitting there and soaking it all in is good enough. Another game day for the Knights and the arena remains as hype as it was the day before. The rivalry between the Sharks and the Knights was intense but the Sharks managed to get pass and take the game. Xin spent the rest of his trip enjoying the food, culture and the casino before flying back to Chicago. A vacation to remember because of the doubles week I’ll be getting from this HAHA.
