You didn't make a claim, not that I care much, you have higher priority than me but we have to differentiate between the two, an offer and a claim because they can not be used as the same thing or it'll be even more confusion.

Exactly because you don't offer money anymore, it's like a waiver priority thing now. Offering money only matters if you can get someone to sign that contract. Otherwise if they don't sign within 24 hours the top claim will land the player.

It was implemented because of people just posting 7 mil on every free agent after it opened and then auto winning. It's far improved from the old system and it gives the worst teams the best shot which makes sense. Just weird it wasn't added to the rules.

Read the rules and it seems neither team made a claim but instead made offers. Since neither offer was accepted I will use my top priority to claim Zayn.

They should add that to the rules section, would make sense anyway. So money doesn't matter, years don't matter, it comes down to priority. We both claimed and I have highest priority.

If a person needs to be skipped twice they get booted, you were skipped multiple times and slowed the draft down to a crawl, most of your team was drafted by me for the sake of keeping the draft moving.

Mine stood uncontested for 24 hours before any change was made. The only reason a change was made was because someone told me I had to take a year off but that doesn't seem to be the case. As per the rule book he is Calgary property. 4.2 – Unrestricted Free Agents An unrestricted free agent will be determined as a player who has 0 years left on their contract, a player who declined a player option/the GM declining a team option or not officially picking up the option at the time of the start of free agency, and is not a restricted free agent under the definition described in Section 4.1 A contract must meet TPE – Salary minimums for every season in the contract After the trade deadline has passed, teams may not sign a player from free agency until the conclusion of the playoffs A player may accept a contract at any time after the contract is offered, unless there is a limit on free agency length in the off-season. If a player is inactive, then if the thread does not see a raise after 24 hrs, they will go to the team with the highest $ value bid. When offering a contract to an inactive, the dollar amount has to be within the contract scales during non-option seasons thus preventing a team from offering a back-end loaded contract that is all based on conditional team options. All contract offers must be publicly posted in the thread. Any raise on a previous offer for inactives must be by a minimum of $250 000. Player Review Pros Skating: Canmore was once one of the best skaters in the Western Hockey League. Size: At six foot eight and two hundred and fifty pounds, Canmore is one large intimidating force when it comes to even the power forwards of the league. Not the man you want to fight with in the VHLM, Canmore already has a reputation of being one of the toughest customers in this league. Work Ethic: Sleep, practice, gym, sleep, practice, gym is all this guy ever does. Canmore wants to take home trophies and break records. The only way he knows how, to just plain outwork his competition. At the rate this kid is improving he'll be a starter in the pro's very soon. It's Canmore's lead by example attitude that has been ingrained in the young man since childhood that keep him working harder than anyone else on any team he has ever played for. Cons Discipline: Canmore has always had a temper and it has got the best of him on many occasions. While this is an area of the youngsters game that is improving, he still has the tendency to fly off the handle when protecting teammates. Nobody will forget Canmore "ACCIDENTALLY" punching a linesman in his Western Hockey League days. Defense: You'd think with the size, reach and stride of Canmore he would be a great defensive forward. It's not for a lack of trying as the big man has been making the moves to become a great power forward in the league. The training to become an effective power forward in the league does take time and the defensive game is a big part of that, look for Canmore to be one of the better defensive forwards come his professional days. Face Off: As a center you'd think Canmore would be more focused on his face-off ability but in the juniors he seems to think it is an attribute that he doesn't quite need to hone in and perfect yet and something that can be worked on as the season goes on. While it may hurt his team to start the season it should be fine as the season progresses and Canmore figures out his training regimen.
