  1. 1. I'm pretty happy with the draft. I went 15th to Moscow and that's the team I wanted to end up on. I like the vibe thy have over there and I thinks it's somewhere I can thrive. 2. I'll be in the VHLE next season and I think I can be that top Elite center for a team and maybe even win a cup there. 3. I would like to be a GM or AGM someday but I'm not sure if I could be active enough on discord or the forum for me to be. 4. I think the lightning can come back and at least make it interesting. Games 3 and 4 are huge because if the bolts win both of those games then it is well and truly not over. 5. My dad is an absolute rock for me. That sort of steady calmness which is just amazing. 6. I used to be an explorer scout so I can bring that technical hiking and camping knowledge like fire building.
  2. “With the 15th pick of the S84 VHL entry draft the Moscow Menace are proud to select, from the San Diego Marlins of the VHLM, center Fraser Wallace” These were the words of Moscow Menace GM Spartan as he selected Scottish forward Fraser Wallace with his second pick of the draft. This pick seems like a match made in heaven. For Moscow, they get a centermen prospect with a high ceiling that should be able to come into the roster and fill the gap that will be left by veteran center The Seabasstard. For young Fraser Wallace, he gets to join a team that is known for developing young players and challenging for championships. He joins fellow Marlins teammates Ak92 Wit Da Hoodie and Jordan Bennett in Moscow along with Otis Boudreaux, Anthony Anthony, Jaysen Caulfield and goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov in the S84 Moscow draft class. We asked Fraser Wallace about how he felt being drafted by Moscow and here’s what he had to say. “Yeah I’m really happy to be a part of the Moscow Menace. I had a good chat with Spartan before the draft and after that, this was the place I wanted to go. I’m looking forward to playing for Moscow and hopeful I can help this team win a championship in the future.”
  3. 1. I'm most excited for VHL draft, probably the obvious answer but it's always exciting to see where your gonna play your first couple years in the VHL. 2. I think I'll go in the late stage of the first round sorta 13-16 or maybe early second like 17-20. Hard to say but that's what makes the draft so exciting. 3. As a lightning fan, gonna have to back my boys. They know how to get it done and I just think that Colorado are gonna have to do something special to beat them. 4. I love a cheeky chocolate biscuit at night. The go to ones are McVities Chocolate Digestives. The name doesn't sound great but they are amazing. 5. I watched Inglorious Bastards the other day and it's honestly one of my top 3 favourite films of all time. 6. I definitely believe in luck, I think sometimes things happen that just shouldn't happen like an underdog wins a game when they shouldn't that the easiest way to explain it is luck. My luck fluctuates, right now it's not too hot but it'll swing around again.
  4. I know the VHLM cup finals were a few days ago but I’m still gonna do a quick recap of game 6 to finish of my point tasks for the week. Game 6 of the Founder’s cup final was do or die for the San Diego Marlins, with the Aces up 3-2 in the series it all came down to Game 6, it was go big or go home. The game got off to the worst possible start after Dogwood Maple fired home on the powerplay for his 8th goal of the playoffs and to give Vegas an important lead. They must’ve felt like they hand 1 hand on the cup after William Futch also scored his 8th goal of the playoffs to give Las Vegas a 2-0 lead going into the 3rd. The Marlins were given a life line after Molly the Cat (amazing player name btw) scored just 27 seconds into the 3rd to close the lead back down to 1 goal. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find that all important second goal and an empty netter by Blake MacTavish with 14 seconds to go seal the deal and gave Vegas their first cup win in nearly 20 seasons. Its still a season the Marlins can be proud of, after all making it to the final is no small feat and taking the best team in the league to 6 games but falling just short of a cup is always gonna sting.
  5. Introduction The 83rd VHLM season is officially over as the Las Vegas Aces have bested the San Diego Marlins to win their first Founder’s cup in S64. However, that does mean that Fraser Wallace’s time in the VHLM is over and it ends trophyless. Nonetheless it is time to take a look at how Fraser Wallace got on in his first season of his career and the first season of the hybrid attribute era. Regular Season Wallace had a bit of a meh regular season in terms of point production this season. In a full 72 game regular season, he put up 23 goals and 28 assists for 51 points which ranks him 10th on his team for scoring. Now your probably thinking, 51 points isn’t bad, it’s actually alright especially when the Marlins had 11 players who manage to score over 50 points this season but when you consider the amount of ice-time he got, playing just shy of 24 minutes a game and getting powerplay time, he definitely could have put up a few more points. He was quite productive on the powerplay, bagging himself 5 goals and 14 assists for 19 points meaning he scored just over 37% of his points whilst playing with a man advantage. He finished the season with a +/- of 33 (ranked 2nd on the team for +/-) which goes to show that the Marlins were a better unit with him on the ice. Wallace was dominant in the face-off circle winning a whopping 59.19% of his draw ranking him 4th in league face-off percentage (ranked with players with more than 1000 face-offs taken) which is a pretty huge asset to have the roster. He was a staple on the Marlins’ special teams this season playing 25% of his minutes this season on special teams. More interestingly he played roughly the same number of minutes on the powerplay as his did on the penalty kill (224 on the powerplay and 216 on the penalty kill) showing that he was trust to help out at both ends of the ice. So overall, it wasn’t a bad season for Fraser Wallace. Could he have done better and put up some more points of course but when you look at his stats overall, it is clear to see that he offered the Marlins a lot more than point production and when you take that into account you can see he was a valuable piece of the San Diego jigsaw. Playoffs The playoffs were not very kind to Fraser Wallace. In the 18 games he played, he scored 2 goals and got 6 assists for a total of 8 points. Not really what you want when the pressure is on and every point is vital. There’s not much else to say about his point production apart from the fact that it wasn’t good enough, you can’t quite make the same argument you could make about his regular season. He played 375 minutes in this season playoffs with 69 of those being on the powerplay and 52 of those being on the penalty kill. His face-off percentage was 57.2% so he again was able to be dominant on the draw. In the end, it wasn’t enough to help his team get over the line. Wallace’s playoff performance was disappointing for sure but it’s still valuable experience and I’m sure it’ll help for when he is back in the playoffs at a higher level. Hopefully he’ll be able to go one step further with his future teams. Interview We managed to grab a chat with Fraser Wallace as he prepares to wind down for the off-season but also, as he looks towards the upcoming VHL and VHLE drafts. Reporter: “Hi Fraser, thank you for taking the time to chat with us. Unfortunately, your season is over after that tough loss to Vegas. How are you feeling after that defeat?” Wallace: “Yeah, I mean its tough man, it’s really tough. Especially after we had been so good in game 5, you know we outshoot them in that game something like 40 to 16 so to lose that it was tough and then we just weren’t good enough in game 6. Fair play to Vegas, we’ve been neck and neck all season long and they more than deserver their cup win.” Reporter: “You played in Vegas last season but you weren’t able to win a cup in your short time there. It must’ve been a weird feeling being on the other side of the post series hand shake?” Wallace: “I mean yeah for sure, it’s never nice to be on the losing side of those handshakes you know, you always want to be on the winning side but they fully deserved to win the cup and I got to wish the management and some of my old teammate’s congratulations.” Reporter: “What are your thoughts on the season as a whole from your perspective? Are you happy with how you played this season despite falling short of silverware?” Wallace: “Em I thought I played ok during the regular season. I could’ve put up some more points for sure but I felt that my defensive game was strong and I was strong on the draws which is important for a centremen. I didn’t play nearly as well as I could have during the playoffs and I apologise to the fans for that, I wish I could’ve helped out more but I need to keep my head up and look towards the next challenge.” Reporter: “Speaking of that next challenge, you are in the pool for both the upcoming VHL and VHLE drafts. How are you feeling about those drafts?” Wallace: “I’m feeling a little nervous but I think that’s only natural you know especially because it’s gonna dictate where I’m gonna be playing and where I’m gonna be living but I’m excited for the challenge of playing at the next level.” Reporter: “I’m going to be cheeky with this last question but have any teams reached out to you ahead of the draft and if so, who?” Wallace: “hahaha I’m not going to tell you who but I’ve spoken to a couple of teams so we’ll just need to wait and see who wants me come draft day.” Reporter: “Oh well, I had to ask anyway. Thank you for taking the time to speak to me Fraser.” Wallace: “No worries have a good one.” That wraps up our season review on Fraser Wallace and he echoed our judgement of his season that it was ok but it could’ve been better. We will be back to chat with Fraser to see how’s getting on next season. 1113 words. Claiming for weeks ending 12/06& 19/06
  6. 1. I try to just mess about with a puck when I can. I find that just getting on the puck an getting a feel for it helps my get in the zone and makes me calmer when I get in game changing situations. 2. That the VHL community is quite friendly. I used to get really nervous talking to people and that they minute judge me or something for what I say but everyone is really nice. 3. I think keeping the team engaged is the main thing as being in a positive LR can help ease things if the team isn't playing too well. 4. I would definitely use it as a bowl for the day, eat all my meals out of it. 5. I think either the Cologne Express or the Stockholm Vikings have the coolest branding. 6. A well fired marshmallow is pretty hard to top but I used to make these things call bread twists and you cooked them over a fire, they were pretty banging.
  7. Let’s be honest, if this season’s San Diego Marlins team didn’t make it to the VHLM finals, it would be probably the biggest shock I’d have witnessed in the league. Every player on the roster capped out which is just mental. None the less, the Marlins earned their place in the finals after beating Halifax in game 7 after a back and forth, tightly contested series. The game got off to a hot start after Boudreaux fired Halifax in front just after the 3rd minute mark of the 1st period. San Diego’s powerplay seemed to find their feet after a rough spell in this series and defensemen Malum Maellard fired home to tie the game at 1 apiece. The Marlins came out all guns blazing in the 2nd with Joachim Bryngelson scoring just 2 minutes into the period to give them the lead. Then 5 minutes later, former Halifax forward Svatopluk Puk fired home another goal to give San Diego a 3-1 lead and secure their place in the final. The Marlins will play the Las Vegas Aces in the final, whom they finished the season tied on 118 points with and I suspect this series will be very, very close.
  8. 1. I quite like hill walking. Living in Scotland there are tons of hills evrywhere and it's nice just to end up sky high in the middle of nowhere. 2. Wallace is a bit of a fiend for a night out so plenty of partying before the season starts back up again. 3. Either badminton or football (soccer). I'm much better at badminton but probably enjoy playing football a bit more. 4. Bit of an odd one but my favourite car is the Peugeot RCZ. I dont know why I like it so much but I've always wanted one since I was like 10. 5. I'm not overly bothered about draft position, Obviously the higher you get drafted the more people pay attention to you etc... but I would much rather get drafted in the 4th or 5th round and go to a team I want to play for or has people I like on it, than get stuck a team that I dont want to be on but go in the 1st round. 6. I didnt play ice hockey as it isnt a big thing over here but I played field hockey for about 4 years. Never played any higher than regoinally.
  9. 1. I love to bowling with me friends, there's something about flinging a bowling bowl down the alley that makes me so happy. 2. I like dogs although I've only ever had hamsters but whenever I get to see my friends dogs it's a lot of fun. 3. Bit of random one but since I'm center, I'd like to have the best face-off percentage ever just so I could be the best player in my position for a season. 4. I'm playing a lot of FIFA at the moment but my favourite game of all time is Skyrim 5. Just trying to stay as relaxed as possible, lots of players lose theirs heads in the play-offs so staying calm can give you big edge when it matters the most. 6. Metalingus by Alter Bridge would be my choice, it's also Edge's WWE walkout song.
  10. My time in the VHL has been a bit bumpy at times, from when my first player was drafted by the aces and I just couldn’t produce points in the M to Simon putting a horrible curse on the S75 Riga draftees which saw us never get the playoff success we probably deserved. Throughout it all, there have been some members of the VHL community who have really helped keep my active and allowed me to enjoy the league to the fullest. The first token of appreciation goes to my first ever GM Spartan. There is no way I would’ve stayed around anywhere near as long as I did on the first player or even bothered to re-create if he hadn’t of drafted my all the way back in S74. He helped my try to fix my broken build when my player just couldn’t put up points and tried his best to give me time to shine before I left the team. After I was drafted, I still spoke to him and hung out in the Vegas locker room which was always a blast. I went inactive for a bit as I fell out of love with the league but when I came back, I got a Dm from Cole about the JST and guess who his AGM was… Spartan. Not gonna lie, felt like Spartan was just following m around the league but I did put a smile on my face and got my back in love with the VHL. Even recently Spartan messaged me on discord to check in and see how I was doing. All around top guy and the league wouldn’t be the same without you. The next appreciation shoutout is a joint one but it goes out to all the AGMs I’ve had over the course of my time here. Those are JigglyGumballs (My Vegas AGM), my Riga AGM who I can’t remember who it was but none the less I thank you, Babyboomer (My AGM in Rome) and lastly Jacob who is my current AGM out in San Diego. The work that the AGMs is amazing and I don’t think anyone’s league experience would be the same without them. From all the press conferences you wrote for the team to do, helping people out with trivia question and keeping the locker rooms active, you guys are an integral part of the league and I thank you for what you do. Lastly, I would like to thank Enorama. When I came back to the league, my player was in the final year of his career and since I had been inactive, I had been signed by the D.C. Dragons for my last season. I didn’t want to play the season out in the VHL and wanted to try win a VHLE trophy and go out on a high. Eno allowed me to go and play for Rome where I went on to be the top defensemen and also hoist the VHLE cup. This let me go out on a high and kickstarted my career with my new player, giving me a new found love for the league. So, thanks a lot! There will have been people that I have missed out and people that I don’t know who do great things for the league but these members above have had the biggest impact on my time here so I thank you all!
  11. 1. There's a decent chance that all 7 players can hit it as we keep winning games and scoring a fair amount of goals. 2. I think Ak92 Wit Da Hoodie is the most creative name we have so it's the best. 3. I would use my GM powers to track down Simon and his sim engine and give him a piece of my mind. 4. It's been OK, averaging about a point per game recently so can't complain but would obviously like yo put up more points. 5. 1-0 shows a more controlled game an a great solid defensive performance. 6. I had carbonara pasta bake a couple nights ago and it's was godly.
  12. 1. I don't think they are cursed, they just played a really good team and came up short. If they had maybe played some of the other east teams they might've won. 2. I quite like a blue gatorade, not really a massive fan of fizzy drinks. 3. I usually do it at the start of the week but my schedules a bit hectic at the moment so it's more of a last minute thing now. 4. I think a theme based around "Big game heroics" could be fun. Could write about how your player performed well in a big game or make up a story about one. 5. I think 55 wins would be a great season for us and would show just how dominant we are. 6. Obvious choice for me is glasgow. Hometown team would be great and it's a city with a big sporting culture.
  13. 1. I think we will yeah, we are managing to win games by any means so if we can keep that up then we should be able to stay on the top spot. 2. I think AK92 wit da hoodie has been the best addition so far. They've helped tighten up our defensive game and contribute some nice offense too. 3. I think the lightning will beat the maple leafs in 6 games this year and this is because the lightning know what it takes to win and I think that winning mentality will help the edge the leafs in the series. It'll be close tho. 4. I don't really have much to contribute to the retention debate as the reason I went IA before was mainly due to irl reasons. 5. I've been loving Candy Coated Lie$ by Hot Milk recently. Song slaps. 6. That going for a balanced build isn't as hard as you'd think it would be. I managed to get good production out of a pretty balanced build and you don't need high scoring to score goals.
  14. Nice job on this media spot! I really like this idea that you have come up with, it really fun and something you don't see very often. The way you've wrote this piece helps aid the piece's fun tone and it flows really well. If you were to do something like this again, you could you do a sequel story and include a section about some of the activities going on with player or fans. Overall, amazing job! 9.5/10
  15. Great job on this article! I really like the way you have broken up the piece with the players names as paragraph heading and having them in their team colours is also a really nice touch. You go into a nice amount of depth amount on each player and you do a nice job of describing how the players strengths or how they play on the ice. Overall, very well done! 9.5/10
  16. 1. We are a very deep team so being able to hit opposing teams with 4 quality lines is huge. We also have a brick wall for a goalie. 2. I'd probably change to a winger, the new attributes have slightly shafted centers a bit and not having to invest in face-offs would mean I could better round out my player. 3. I really like running. I got into it last summer and I miss the days I cant go a run. 4. I finished my 3rd year of university which is a huge achievement for me. 5. I'd go with Svatopluk Puk, he's just a very good forward and you can never say no to more good forwards 6. I prefer cold rain because once you get inside, it easier to dry off and warm up compared to the horribly muggy feeling of warm rain
  17. We are only 8 games into the VHLM season and the San Diego Marlins have gotten off to an excellent start posting a 6-0-2 record so far this season. In there most recent set of fixtures, they demolished the Houston Bulls and the Mexico City Kings 6-0 and 7-1 respectively. They have also acted quickly and bolstered their roster by trading for defensemen AK 92 Wit Da Hoodie, who was drafted 6th overall in the VHLM draft. Moving onto Fraser Wallace, he has posted 1 goal and 3 assists for a total of 4 points in the opening 8 games of the season. It’s not the most impressive start the VHLM has ever seen but it’s not terrible either. His most impressive aspect so far has been his ability in the face-off circle, winning a huge 57% of his draws, which ranks him as the 5th best face-off taker in the league (Minimum 100 face-offs). Teammates Joachim Brygelson is ranked 3rd hinting that their prowess in the face-off circle could be a key aspect of the Marlins success.
  18. Nice job on this media spot! I like the way the paragraphs are kept short and fast, it gives the whole thing a vibrant and exciting vibe. You've done a nice job of conveying the feelings and emotions of your player which makes it more enjoyable to read. As the season goes on, it would be cool to see you talk about some of the games you've had in this same sort of way. Overall, great job! 9/10
  19. With the last pick I'll take... G - David Davis
  20. F - That Dude D - Jerome Reinhart @DMaximus
