  1. Nice job on this media spot! You have done a great job with this draft review and I like the amount of detail that you have included about each player. The review is laid out really well which makes it easy and fun to read. I've not been able to keep up with the recent drafts but now I feel like I know everything I need to about the upcoming rookie class. Next time, you could change the colour of the team names to that team's colour. Overall, cracking job! 9.5/10
  2. Introduction This season, former 1st round draft pick Fraser Wallace was a mission to prove that he has what it takes to make the jump to the VHL. There were a few doubts over his ability to put up points during his VHLM season with the San Diego Marlins. This season, he joined the reigning VHLE champions Bratislava Watchmen, under the guide of GM Frostbeard. Wallace was a big part of the Watchmen this year as they drafted 6th overall in the S84 VHLE draft which place a large amount of pressure on his shoulders. Did he handle the pressure? Let’s take a look… Regular Season Wallace had an outstanding regular season as he took the league by storm. In a full 72 game season, he scored 41 goals and bagged 48 assists for a total of 89 points. That is a 38-point increase compared to his last season which is a monstrous increase and this point total definitely proved that Wallace has what it takes. He was 2nd in league scoring and also lead his team in point scoring. He was a feature on both the powerplay and penalty kill for the Watchmen this season as he near enough played and equal number of minutes on both special units. On the powerplay he managed to score 11 goals (team high) and 12 assists for a total of 23 points. He also managed to score a shorthanded goal. He was also fairly dominant in the face-off circle as well posting a win percentage of 54.62% which ranks him 4th amongst leading face-off takers (out of those with more than 500 face-offs taken). This was definitely a statement season for Wallace, managing to perform at this level throughout the regular season will give him a huge boost in confidence as well as helping him stand out amongst the peers and help him make a name for himself in the league. If he can up the level of performance in the VHL then he could rise to the top and help lead his new team to glory. Playoff The Bratislava Watchmen entered the playoffs looking to repeat their success of the previous season but they were going to have to beat the Istanbul Red Wolves which whom they had battling with all season long for that top spot in the overall standings. It was a tight series that went 6 games and ended with the Red Wolves beating the Watchmen and ensuring a repeat wasn’t going to happen. Wallace had a good playoff run scoring 2 goals and 6 assists for 8 points in the 6-game series. It’s maybe not as dominant as he would’ve like and not as explosive as you sometimes have to be in order to make it through the playoffs. Either way, I think this will give him more valuable playoff experience and he will being moving onto the Moscow Menace next season and we know that all of those players have playoff experience so they could be a real threat. Overall Review This season was a huge success for Fraser Wallace. Scoring at over a point per game pace for the season shows that this unique style of game that he has developed is working and if he can fine tune that and maybe add a few additional elements then he could be a force on the VHL over the coming seasons. He is in a very stacked rookie crop but he could he be a dark horse in the race for top rookie next season? We’ll need to wait and see. 595 words
  3. 1. I'd rather discover a new city and just wander about and see what I can find. It's just more fun as you never know what you might find. 2. I had churros the last time I went to Spain and they were honestly amazing. 3. The last time I was in New York, I went up the Rockefeller Centre and night time and the view from the top was unreal. 4. I'm not that much of a fan of cruises. I think they are a bit boring and I don't like the idea of being stuck on a boat for ages. 5. I have a travel pillow that I take on holiday every time I go and I don't think I could survive without it. 6. Somewhere that has a mixture of beach, city exploration and nightlife so I can relax, go exploring and have fun for a week.
  4. 1. Its weird not having any games on but I've got WJC and also the Pro-Am to look forward too. 2. Bit late on this one but congrats to Warsaw. It was a great series. 3. Yeah I am, quite looking forward to spending all the tpe I've got banked too. 4. Has to be Sock Monkey, I feel like we've formed a great partnership this season and put on a he'll of a show. 5. World Cup with Team GB would be once in a life time occasion so have to go with that. 6. I'm not sure but its defos not Man Utd. I think it'll be another premier league club that he'll go to.
  5. 1. It was a very good series, both teams battle hard and unfortunately we lost it in the end. 2. I'm super proud of this group of players. We showed throughout the season that we could've went all the way but it wasn't to be. 3. I think the Red Wolves will win the cup but I think the series will be quite close. 4. MOSCOW! MOSCOW! MOSCOW! 5. My irl life has been quite hectic towards the end of the season so I'm hoping just to relax and work on earning some TPE. 6. It was an honour being the teams Captain for the year, I wish you all the best for the future and hopefully I'll get to play on the same team as you guys again.
  6. 1. Unfortunately we weren't able to get that top spot but we had a great regular season and put in some great results. Still lots to be proud off. 2. I think they need a good draft and some top picks. Hopefully they could get some guys that will stick around for a few seasons. 3. I'm not sure if it will, lots of us have managed to hit the cap this season but who knows. Maybe frost can work some magic and build another contending team. 4. He's a top forward for sure and probably the reason they have done so well. 5. I would stay in the VHLE unless I was gonna get decent ice time in the VHL. No point in going up only to play 5 minutes a game. 6. It's great to see lots of new faces in the VHL. New faces bring new ideas and more opportunities to grow the league.
  7. 1. I think it was the right call, the team we have is good and definitely enough to do some damage in the playoffs. 2. Yeah I think we will, not a lot of teams they can stop is when we play our best. 3. I can't wait, it's my favourite part of the season. 4. Sadly not, I think Busser is just scoring too many points but still having 2 guys up there is a great achievement. 5. He's been outstanding, having such a great goalie makes the whole teams job easier. 6. Absolutly, love F1 and would really like to go to a GP
  8. My idea for theme week is to do an interview with my player Fraser Wallace and ask him about his VHL idols and dreams from when he was 15 years old (I’m counting 1 season as a year for this) Hope you guys enjoy. Interviewer – “Hello there Fraser, thank you very much for taking the time out of your day to speak with us and happy VHL birthday!” Wallace – “No problem, man, I quite like doing these interviews with you and happy birthday to VHL!” Interviewer – “So I thought what we could do is talk what 15-year-old Fraser Wallace thought the VHL, his hopes and dreams of playing in the VHL and stuff like that. Does that sound good to you?” Wallace – “Yeah that sounds good to me. Ask away!” Interviewer – “Let’s start with your favourite team at that age. Everyone has a team they support as a child but you don’t always get to play for that team so who was the team you supported growing up?” Wallace – “I was actually a Moscow fan growing up. You were probably expecting me to say Riga since Artair McCloud played there and he’s also Scottish but there was just something about Moscow that I just enjoyed watching.” Interviewer – “And what was it about Moscow that drew you to them?” Wallace – “I think that they’ve had some unreal players on their team over the years. The likes of Lahtinen, Davis, Letang were on the team when I was younger and they were outstanding to watch and unplayable at times. When the time came for the next generation of Moscow guys like Duncan Idaho and Paul Atreides were the dynamic duo of the league for me and 2 players I definitely admired.” Interviewer – “So who was your favourite player, if you had one or did you have a few players that you liked?” Wallace – “I think Mikko Lahtinen was probably my favourite player, especially when he was at Moscow. He was just a total freak of nature and he could do things that other players couldn’t. Aside from him I did admire Artair McCloud, being where I’m from you know there is a large hockey community and it can be quite hard to make it big somewhere but he showed me that it was possible and definitely lit a fire under me and I wanted to follow his footsteps.” Interviewer – “Last thing, I wanted to talk about S79 which was the season when you would have been 15. What are your thoughts and memories from that season?” Wallace – “It was a disappointing one for sure. Moscow didn’t make the playoffs but the team was still in its rebuilding stage and you saw the following 3 seasons that they improved dramatically. I think Malmo won the playoffs that year and I remember them having a stellar regular season. I don’t remember them having any huge, major stars but rather being a good, solid team that played for each other and played together.” Interviewer – “Well thank you Fraser again for taking the time out to speak with us, good luck with the rest of the VHLE season and I’ll talk to you again soon” Wallace – “Thank you very much mate, take care.”
  9. 1. I'm gonna try and earn as much TPE as possible this week and then maybe do a shot for every like 3 TPE i earn. Seems like a fitting way to celebrate. 2. I would go for something like "A day in the life of..." so people could do a media spot from the perspective of their player going about their normal day. 3. I would highly encourage everyone to try and do theme week. I find it quite fun to do but also its a nice chunk of free TPE. 4. Lots of drinking and partying. I'm going into my last of university come September so its sorta my last chance to have some fun before the semester from hell. 5. I'd have to go with Harry Hagel. Over a point per game as a defensemen is just outrageous. 6. I can't remember who said it but it goes something like "Not believing in yourself is a slap in the face to those that do". I don't know but it makes me believe in myself so much.
  10. 1. We play a really good offensive game so we tend to outshone our opponents which always gove you a good chance to win. 2. I like a mars bar, packed full of sugar which makes for a good pick me up and energy boost. 3. I think it will be us and Istanbul. We both seen to have emerged as the best trams this season. 4. I've gotten a fan for my desk and ive had all of my windows open which has sorta helped keep me cool. That and lots of cold drinks. 5. I will definitely come with him next time as I need to explore the city myself. 6. I would like to go to the waterfront. It sounds like it could be a nice to place to just sit and chill out.
  11. Nice job on this media spot! I like the way that you used make the heading for each team that own teams colour, this really helps break up and brighten up the piece. You give a nice amount of depth for the description of each team (especially as its a power ranking and you don't usually get a whole lot with those) so that for people like me (who don't have a lot of time to keep up with them) can get a good feel for how all the teams are doing. Overall, great job! 9.5/10
  12. We are just a 3rd of the way through the current VHLE season and both the Bratislava Watchmen and Fraser Wallace are having a good season so far. Bratislava currently sit top of the VHLE table on 32 points, 1 point above their closest rivals the Istanbul Red Wolves. This is after the Watchmen had a little bit of a rough start as the team were still trying to figure out line combinations etc… But now that the team have clicked, they dismantling teams and are looking like a real contender for the cup. A big contributor to the team’s recent success was 1st round draft pick Fraser Wallace whose fortunes have seemed to turn around along with the team’s. After a rough start with only 1 point in his first 6 games with the team, he has improved his performances tremendously as he currently sits on 26 points in just 22 games, which has him in 8th place on the top scorers list. Neither Bratislava or Wallace will want to rest on their laurels as they will look to push on to try and secure themselves top seed and permanent home ice advantage for the playoffs.
  13. 1. I think we are still finding purpose feet a bit but we have improved massively and I think we still have some room to grow. 2. I'm happy with the way it's going. I had a bad start but now I feel like I'm performing like a top player and helping the team the way I want to. 3. Being from Scotland, I am a master of the weather. Just be prepared for anything. Take a jacket even if it's sunny or check the weather before you leave. 4. I'm a F1 fan and I'm liking Lando Norris at the moment, she's been driving well and got a decent result at the Brittish GP. 5. I haven't yet, I will be going out and about soon but I wanted to get my performance level up before I did. 6. I swear I'll go explore the city soon I promise.
  14. F - Zeedayno Chara Sorry for missing my pick
  15. Fraser Wallace is now officially a member of the Bratislava Watchmen as he was picked 6th overall in the latest VHLE draft by GM Frostbeard. He joins Damian Steele, Jeffrey Bezos and Moscow Menace teammate Jordan Bennett as a potential career partnership could potentially be formed between the two forwards. Fraser Wallace looks to fit the needs of Bratislava really well. He will be shoe in for the role of 2nd line center but he also has the ability to reach that top line level which makes the Watchmen a scary team to play against. His impressive two-way game, which he displayed in the VHLM last season, will also help on the power-play and penalty kill as he can easily play on both. We asked Wallace what his thoughts were on being drafted by Bratislava and this is what he had to say: “I’m really happy to be selected by Bratislava and it is an honor to picked so high at 6th overall. I’m also happy to be playing with Jordan again he’s a great guy and it seems like we’ll be playing together forever. I can’t wait to get started and to try and bring another championship home to Bratislava.”
