  1. Review: I really like this concept as a media spot and you do it quite well. It's good to see that you got some community engagement for this media spot and you have some god take and answers to the questions. I also like that you went and got a different player per team to ask a question rather than just have a ton of people on the one team. All in all, amazing job! 9/10
  2. 1. Heading home and partying hard to make up for the lost time are my plans! 2. I think that Frank's and Mr Penguins sigs are my favourites probably. 3. I think I'm a little late with this one but I'm not surprised that Talinder went first, I think Moscow had a good draft and they will be a real force in the future. I think we also had a good draft and I can't wait to see how the new guys will improve our team going forward. 4. Yeah by a mile, the guy is just unreal. I don't think there is a player as good individually as him in the league. 5. I would go with "When It Rains It Pours" by Luke Combs 6. Probably my Leatherman multi-tool, it has like 10 or 11 different attachments on it so it's quite useful I guess.
  3. Review: Really nice job on this media spot mate. You do a really good job of giving the reader an overview of your players career and you give a nice amount of detail about who they played each season. The goodbye and thank you quote/speech you included gives the piece a more personal feel and makes this article that bit better. Overall, top, top job! 9.5/10
  4. Review: Nice job on this media spot, it's good when people take a dive into their teams stats and it always makes for a good read. I like that you have got a small summary of how each player performed as it helps give a bit more of a personal touch. Maybe next time you could bolden or underline your headings to help break it up a bit and make it easier to read. Overall, solid job! 8.5/10
  5. 1. I'm not really that bothered about the lotto tourney stats. Although it would be nice to see us play well and win games because we don't have our first I'm not too fussed. 2. All that sweet sweet of season TPE and the draft, can't forget about the draft. 3. I think its gonna be Seattle, they have been so solid defensively and I just don't think Helsinki will be able to break them down. 4. Yeah I'm excited to be back and I'm looking forward to next season. We are in the prime years of our cup window so we just have to take our chances and make every game count. 5. 'Would you rather'. I seen it on Netflix and I was by far the worst film I've ever seen. 6. Of course it does.
  6. Love this concept for a media spot. They way that you have used the teams colours to help separate and differentiate between the teams makes it easy to read. Next time you could maybe add like a little review of each teams season to give some more context and it would allow you to also give your thoughts on how those teams did. Overall, good job! 9/10
  7. Nice job on this media spot mate. This piece is easy to read and is laid out really well. I like that you have used a different colour to represent your the players responses for the questions, makes it very easy to read. The interview also flows really well, making it a good read. Overall, nice job 8.5/10
  8. 1. Its gutting for sure that we weren't able to make the playoffs, especially when we were so close to defying the odds. We will just have to work harder next season to make sure we make those playoffs. 2. I'll go with Sheilds. He put up the most points for our team and we'd definitely be in a worse position without him. 3. I don't think there will be any massive upsets but I think we could see a dark horse emerge in win the playoffs this season. 4. I would merge a duck and a shiba inu puppy because I think that could be kinda funny. 5. I like the hulk because he smash. 6. Potatoes probably. All other vegetables are trash
  9. After a promising S76 which saw the Riga Reign make the playoffs, they now find themselves needing a couple of miracles in order for them to squeeze into that last wildcard spot in the European conference. They currently sit in 7th place, 5 points behind both Malmo and Davos but they do have a game in hand over both teams. With only 3 games left (4 for Riga) can the Reign pull off the unthinkable ad make the post season. They don’t have the easiest of run-ins however, as they play 3 of the top 6 teams in the league, those being Seattle, Warsaw and Toronto, as well as a game against Calgary who have proven to be a thorn in the side of the Lions this season. If they want to pull this off, they will need both top performances from their offensive units, which have been somewhat lacking this season on top of both of the teams in front of them to slip up so that they slide in and secure that spot in the playoffs.
  10. Nice job on this media spot. It's interesting to see how a players career could've changed if that pick a different path or choice. The piece is laid out really well so it's easy to read and it's clear you put a good amount of effort into writing it. Overall, good job! 9/10
  11. Very good job on writing this media spot. You cover a lot of aspects about drafting that I didn't even think off. The media spot is laid out really well and is easy to read. It's clear you spent a good amount of time writing this so fantastic job. Overall, nice job! 9.5/10
  12. 1. I'm always gonna back the team to get it done, it's gonna be tough but I think we can pull it off. 2. They definitely could be. Warsaw and Chicago have shown some weakness and they were the two frontrunners but I think that Toronto could pull it off. 3. I really like the look of Tui Sova. He's a scoring first D-Man with a lot of upside and he's over a point per game in the VHLM, definitely someone to look out for. 4. That's a tough one but I'll go with Russell Howard. His TV is show is hilarious. 5. Johnny English, any of them. They are all just amazing movies and they are quite funny. 6. Probably "You" on Netflix. Whenever the new season came out I would watch in the one go.
  13. Nice job on this media spot mate, I like your approach to this we're Matt Thunder wasn't drafted and you put in some good effort to come up with scenarios where that was the case. The piece is split up well and easy to read. Next time, maybe add some headings or bolden some of the text at the start of the scenarios to make is that bit more easy to read. Overall nice job. 9/10
  14. I really like this piece. You do a really good job of capturing and exploring Masami's feelings whilst she was in this rut with her performances. Introducing another character really gives a better understanding of how Masami is feeling as she is able to show her feelings through her interaction with Baldur. The piece is laid out very well and flows naturally. Overall, amazing job. 10/10
  15. 1. Yeah I think we do. It's a shame that it hasn't quite worked out the way we hoped but we'll be back next year and ready to go again. 2. I don't know, Simon is a sadistic guy so they could be in for a gut wrenching cup run. 3. I'm not sure what it'll be but I'm excited because they said there would be more jobs, so imma try get myself one of those. 4. January because it's always cold and icy and I hate having to walk on ice on the way to university. 5. The Queen is a cannibal, how else can she live until she's 97. She's practically immortal. 6. To make it easier to get the pizza out because you have the gaps at the corner of the box so you can get your hand in to grab a slice.
  16. Introduction So, in this reality Artair McCloud was drafted 28th Overall in the S75 VHL draft by the Riga Reign but what if he wasn’t? In the S75 post draft rankings McCloud currently sits 20th, 8 places higher than he was initially drafted, so what would his career look like if he was picked higher up in the draft? So, let’s go through the teams that he could’ve potentially landed on and see what that could’ve meant for his career… After writing this piece, it seems like a lot of the alternate scenarios involve McCloud most likely ending up on Calgary so I added in the Calgary counter to help keep track of the number of times I could’ve ended up on Calgary. New York Americans First up on the list are the New York Americans who had the 20th and 22nd overall pick in the draft, with which they drafted defenseman Cowboy Prout and Shawn Andrei Zyuzin. Prout was a great pick by Esso to help bolster New York’s defence but Zyuzin was a total bust, currently sitting 66th in the post draft rankings, 44 places below where he was taken. Both players were traded, on separate occasions, to the Calgary Wranglers so we could assume that McCloud could’ve been traded to the Wranglers as well. His rookie year might have looked a bit better on the Americans as well, as he might have received a bit more ice-time playing on a roster that was not as deep although he would not have had his first taste of the playoffs but he would’ve gotten to play in the lottery tournament. As of right now, he would be playing top-line minutes on the Calgary Wranglers (if NY still decided to trade him) being the second best forward on that roster behind Luke Thornton. Calgary seems like it a place that McCloud could find himself enjoying playing for, they are in a rebuilding stage with a new general manager in Ricer (Calgary counter = 1). It is also a place where he could really make a name for himself in the league. It’s also worth noting that New York were the first team to reach out and interview McCloud ahead of the draft. Vancouver Wolves Next up are the Vancouver Wolves who had the had the 23rd overall pick in the draft and with that pick they drafted Sheldon Juniper, a former Vegas teammate of McCloud. Juniper currently sits 26th in the post draft rankings, just 3 places below where he was taken, so I would say this was a solid pick from Vancouver. Juniper was traded to Calgary, so once again, I would be very likely that McCloud would have also ended up on the Wranglers, given the nature of the Wolves roster at that time. They were stacked an going for a cup. He probably would’ve put up similar numbers in his rookie season, as he would’ve received a similar amount of ice time as he did on Riga. If he managed to keep his place on the roster then he would’ve have had a deeper run in the playoffs as Vancouver made it past the D.C. Dragons in the first round of the playoffs but were then swept by eventual Cup Champions Chicago in the next round. Had he not managed to retain his place on the roster he would be on the wranglers as juniper was traded to them (Calgary counter = 2) but we have already covered that scenario in the section above. Although, funnily enough, the 23rd overall pick that Vancouver had, was originally owned by Calgary so, there is another scenario in which McCloud could’ve ended up on the wranglers (Calgary counter = 3). D.C. Dragons The last team that might’ve drafted McCloud would have been the D.C. Dragons. They had the 25th overall pick in the draft and with that pick they drafted Ove Drydahl. In the post draft rankings, Drydahl sits 27th, two places below where he was drafted so a good pick from the dragons and he is still on the team at this point in time. The D.C. roster was going under a retool when Artair was drafted, they had a flashy forward line but some of their 2nd line and depth forward were aging so McCloud would’ve been a good fit for that role. His rookie year, again like the one he had on Riga, due to the state that the forward core of the roster was in. He would have also have has that playoff experience with the dragons but it would have been swift as they were knocked out by the Vancouver Wolves. This season however, his season could’ve been interesting in D.C. Similar to Riga, they are a team who are performing worse than they should be, given the roster they have. With McCloud on their team, D.C. would have 2 solid, complete forward lines and it would certainly increase their chances of making the playoffs. The dragons would’ve been a good fit for him, not only for now but for the future too. Outro So, there is a brief over view of what McClouds career could’ve looked like if he wasn’t drafted by the Riga Reign. Even though I am really happy being apart of the Reign, It is really interesting to have a look at how my career could’ve panned out, even if most of those scenarios would have had me playing on the Calgary Wranglers. There were some teams that had picks above where McCloud was taken, like Chicago who had the 21st overall pick and the Prague Phantoms who has the 24th overall pick, but they never reached out before the draft to interview me so I never considered them possible options, as they never registered any interest in me in the first place. Also the likes of the 27th and 28th overall picks, which Riga owned but were originally owned by the Seattle Bears and the Moscow Menace respectively. Thank you for tuning in to find out where McCloud could’ve ended up had he not got drafted by Riga. 1018 words Claiming for weeks 12th - 18th & 19th - 25th April
  17. I'm interested and would like to apply for this position
  18. Quality media spot this. It's really nice to get an insight into what goes into VHLM scouting and you give quite a good look into that. The article is laid out quite well so it is quite easy to read. Maybe you could use a couple headings just to break it up that bit more. Overall, very nice job!! 9/10
  19. Great job on this mate. I like that the questions are both informative and also there a couple of more light-hearted ones in there, it gives the interview a nice balance. The piece is also layed out quite well so it's easy to read. Overall, good job! 9/10
  20. 1. HELL YEAH WE CAN!!! 2. I think it's gonna be either Warsaw or Chicago the wins the cup. They look like the 2 run away teams and I'm not sure if anyone is gonna be able to stop them. 3. I think he might. He is just absorbing TPE and he is definitely gonna be close. 4. I think you would probably just disappear but if you somehow became twice as huge, that could be a meta strat for building height. 5. I don't think they like poop poo but they do poop some kinda waste. 6. A cat the size of a mouse because that would be both adorable and hilarious.
  21. The Riga Reign are starting to find that form that the lacked at the start of the season. In their last 10 games, they are 7-3-0 which is a major improvement compared to 2-7-1 in their first 10. This run of from currently sits them 2nd bottom of the European conference but they are only 3 points behind Davos who sit in 2nd of the wildcard spots, with a game in hand as well. The Reign had problems at both ends of the ice at the start of the season but that have manged to tighten up their defensive game, although they still struggle from time to time. The biggest improvement has come in their offensive game as they have become more of a consistent offensive unit. In those 10 games, the Reign have scored at least 3 goals per game with them scoring as man as 7 in a game against D.C. This has also seen 10 of their players hit double digit point totals with summer acquisition General Zod leading the team in scoring with 26 points closely followed by VHL veteran Ray Sheilds who has 23 points.
  22. 1. Yeah it is time. We had a rough start but now we are playing better and getting those wins. Time to push on and get ourselves in a playoffs spot. 2. I'm not sure, they have been awful for a while but if you look at their roster they have some quality players like Davis, Pines, Merrick and Jiggs so I'm also not surprised. 3. I would like to say myself but I'll probably be keeping up my 1 point per sim average, I could see McLaren really hitting form, he's been playing really well but I think he'll reach new heights towards the backend of the season. 4. Tiktok. I love watching stuff on their but I annoys me how much I love watching stuff on tiktok. 5. Billy McNeil (Captain of the Lisbon lions), Steven Stamkos and Barack Obama. 6. Camembert cheese, I smelt awful but also the smell kinda made me want to try it.
