Maximoff visits the All Star Game

After finishing his studies at the University of Bucharest, Pietro Maximoff decided it was time to see something of the world, in all 21 years of his life he had never left his home country. To make this possible he had decided to safe up the money he had made while playing for the Steaua Rangers. The young forward was talented, so the team had happily given him the money he asked for to keep him at the club. Wondering where his trip would go to, he looked online to see if there are some nice hockey games in the world he could visit. When he stumbled upon the Victory Hockey League and saw that they had an all star game this week, he packed his bag and flew over to the Netherlands. He had to see the game, even if he didn't know any of the players. Upon arriving he wondered though, am I in the correct country? According to what I looked up, they don't even have a VHL team here, why would they host their all star game?

Luckily for Pietro, Google had some quick answers as he noticed one of the original VHL teams was located here, he had to be in the correct location after all. After getting settled in his hotel he proceeded to the Jaap Eden Hal, the ice rink of Amsterdam, to see the All Star Game. He looked at the rosters and noticed Team Sterling was playing Team Knight. Only ten players for each team? What is this for a league? He almost figured it was nothing better than the average team from the Romanian Hockey League, but oh well, since he was here he might as well enjoy the game.

The first period Pietro saw quite a spectacle and it was a fun first period of an all star game. Team Sterling scored right of the bat with a goal from Simon Valmount before Lord Karnage equalized for Team Phil. Both sides played nice and attractive hockey as team Sterling moved towards a 4-2 lead after the first period. As it's an all star game the goalies are not playing at their best level to provide some entertainment for the crowd. A total of 6 goals in 31 shots is giving the crowd something to enjoy. The offensive game disappeared for Team Sterling in the second period as they were held goalless. It wasn't that Blake Campbell was that good (even though he kept his net clean), it was just the lack of any offense from their side as they were kept to 1 goal. Team Phil scored three goals unanswered to take a 5-4 lead after the second period.

As Pietro watched the game he was looking at a certain player that played the same position as him: Lord Karnage, after his second goal of the All Star Game he was already convinced that he had to be the best player in the league. In the third period it was like the minds of Lord and Pietro connected as Karnage showed up big in the third period by adding two more goals to his total and bringing the victory to Team Phil. When Karnage was crowned the MVP of the All Star Game, Pietro knew for sure. It's time to leave Romania behind and see if he could join the Victory Hockey League, after all, if you only have 20 players for an All Star Game, they are bound to have some roster spots available.

Awesome idea for you're new player! This was a great read that had a great review of the all-star game! I really can't make any complaints about this article at all. Keep up the good work!! Look forward to reading more about Maximoff.

  2. I don't know what the deal is with the picture upload thing but this is the second media spot now that I haven't been able to upload pictures. When I go to insert media it just shows a tiny little mountain with Q== besides it lol. I will maybe try again and see what happens.

NEVERMIND GOT IT FIGURED OUT HAHA

  3. Making the transition to an entirely different league has been quite the struggle so far for Sebastian Laine. Playing with bigger, stronger, and faster players is definitely something that is difficult for any professional. The talent level compared to the Finnish Junior League is what was the biggest surprise for Laine. Sebastian is playing with the Oslo storm of the VHLM, after they picked him up off waivers. Laine says the biggest difficulty so far has been switching from the left wing he is used to playing. Now playing centre with Oslo, Sebastian says he will do anything to help the team going into the playoffs. “I feel like we are doing the rights things right now, the bounces just need to go our way for once” said Sebastian.

    The city of Oslo, Norway.

So far in nine games, he has only managed to compile one goal and two assists. “Coach said points don't matter to him, as long as you are going out and giving 110% every night”. That's what most people have realized so far, is that he is doing all the coach asks of him. Oslo hasn't been playing the best hockey as of late, and going into playoffs is something to be concerned about. There has been some brights spots in some of the games, but the puck just isn't going in the net right now. The fans in Oslo are hoping the goals will come in the last stretch before playoffs, and hopefully they can continue that into the postseason.

Once this season is over for Sebastian, it will be interesting to be what happens in terms of who he will be playing for next season. There are many so many players right now that are making themselves eligible for the Season 48 VHLM draft, that no one really knows where he will land. It could be anywhere from the top three selections, to anywhere in the third round. Players like Tony Pellerin, Kai Roberts, and Bobby Digital are going to be some of the most talented to ever enter this league. Some tough competition for a young kid like Sebastian, who just left home for the first time in his life. Hopefully with determination and hard work on the ice, he will make a name for himself in years to come.

An entire season for the prospects, next year in anticipation for the Season 49 Draft will be quite interesting. What happens in terms of how the prospects play, and most importantly the impact they make for the team they are playing with will be what every general manager across the VHL will be looking at. Another factor will be how the players act in the community, which will ultimately show the teams how much the players care about being there. We will take another look in a few weeks how the Season 49 Draft is shaping up.

  4. I am going to apply for this position as a writing grader! I enjoy reading very much and I would definitely learn a lot about the league if I were to read more media spots and such!! Also it would be awesome to earn some extra TPE to improve my player, as I would love to be a top pick in the season 49 draft. Thanks for the consideration and I hope to talk soon. Thanks!!

  5. The first week in the VHL has been good so far for Sebastian Laine. He was picked up on waivers by the Oslo Storm of the VHLM. He will play the rest of the season out, and then be eligible for the Season 48 VHLM dispersal draft. In his first two games with Oslo, Sebastian didn’t get any playing time. In his third game he made his presence with a quick assist, and managed to finish the game with a few shots, and a decent amount of ice time. The next 2 games, Sebastian was able to keep up his point per game pace and so far fans of Oslo are liking what they see. It will be interesting to see what happens from here on out in Oslo for Sebastian, as they are going to be making a playoff run this season. Sebastian is definitely out to prove something or the rest of thee year, to make himself a high pick in the dispersal draft.
