  1. Nike, and Bud Light sponsor American Classic Tuesday, 1.7.2014 / 2:00 PM It’s official Nike and Bud Light have decided to sponsor with the American Classic to further endorse the event. It’s one of the first few companies to sponsor with the outdoor game. Many have been anticipating this move and it’s exciting to see it in full action. With commercials, advertisements, and posters already posted the excitement is brewing, it’s going to be one hell of a game and with Nike sponsoring the event you know it’s going to be a big one. Grab some beers, and wings set the date on your calendars expect this one to be one of the best. With that being said we approached an avid hockey fan and this is what he had to say about the event “It’s great, I expect this to further the sport globally. A couple buddies and I expect this one to be great and we’re gonna probably head to one of the guys house and whip some Bud Light while enjoying the finest game to man. We’re hella excited and at the end of the day we all know Toronto is coming home with the win so we cannot wait.”
  2. Potential outdoor games in VHL’s future Tuesday, 1.7.2014 / 1:26 PM Is it time for another attempt at a Winter Classic for the Victory Hockey League or was one go enough. It seems like the VHL is preparing for a series of games that will take place outdoors one being the American Classic and the other being the Euro Classic. With both management and the players association accepting the offer we should be expecting an outdoor game between the Seattle Bears and Toronto Legion come season’s end, however, it doesn’t end there. The Euro Classic will be the battle of Riga Reign versus the Cologne Express. All respective teams should create a great game for the fans, players, and staff to enjoy. Toronto Legion players practicing on an outdoor ice hockey surface There have been many discussions surrounding the two outdoor games and they are all due as the last time the VHL hosted an outdoor game it did not go as planned. We decided to get Toronto’s input on this event coach, Jack Edgar spoke. “It’s a great time to just have fun, we saw it with the NHL and how it panned out. The game was great, the endorsing was great, the fans and players seemed to enjoy it and we can only hope that it will be the same over here and overseas. I wish all the teams good luck and let’s just have fun.” The teams are expecting the fans to behave and to not act as disruptive as they were the last time around; the league will bring in several security guards and offices to take control of the area. With that being said the only major duty left is to make sure both the fans and teams have a great time watching the game we all love being played on its roots. If this does prove to be a success can, we expect a lot more in future such as Stadium Series, or altering teams each season. However, the focus right now is where the games will take place. The choices right now are between the Rogers Centre in Toronto and the Husky Stadium or Safeco Field in Seattle. Many have placed their bet on the host city being Seattle with its 72,500 seats opposed to Toronto’s Roger Centre with 54,000 seats. Either way the game will bring a great venue, finances, and entertainment to both cities; fans from both cities know wherever the game is they will be there. Husky Stadium; possible outdoor stadium in Seattle With the anticipation brought into this event, we can only expect this to be the best turnout for the VHL, one to bring both fans and finances to the league. This period will be one where everyone can enjoy the game for its true purposes. We can expect it to be one of the best showcases brought to us with a fast speed game we can only hope that Mother Nature will cooperate with a shower of snow. Let the excitement begin with the most fast-paced game on earth and there is no better way to enjoy it than two historic teams battling it out for the extra two points. Management has all the time to select the city, jerseys, and endorse the event. For now we can only wait and hope that all will go down as planned.
  3. Yes, it gives you the opportunity to play in the Winter Classic, however, the selection for arenas vary from the past two outdoor stadiums excluding the Michigan State one. NHL 2K10 also has outdoor arenas although they only have one which is Wrigley Field in Chicago. It allows you to create teams in both games so we could create the Bears and Legion rosters onto the game and adjust their ratings to how the game rates the attributes.
  4. I'm down to write a media spot I need a topic anyways.
  5. OMG, what a crazy game Cannoot believe FSU won it with under 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Damn, I wanted Auburn to top their underdog story with the big win right there. I guess not everything always works out. That 100 yard return = amazing, that 100 yard return was the turning point it gave FSU hype and led themm to the comeback. I was stunned watching it I honestly didn't know if I could take it anymore. 34-31 FSU
  6. The Packers will never go away imo, that being said I expect a better finish form them next season .
  7. Kaepernick done it all for the 49ers, love it. 49ers all the way.
  8. I'm stoked for this tourney .
  9. Lebedev returns; Legions are set for cup Sunday, 1.6.2014 / 2:47 PM Nikita Lebedev was destined to be a great offensive force for the Toronto Legion but, soon enough that all went down the drain once the top six right wing disappeared. Management quickly grew distress as their first round pick was no longer attending weekly training nor practices, it seemed like the city life grew too much for the young Russian. The team moved on without him and continued to play without his presence resulting well for the team. Management decided to change things up as the team was yet without a cup for six straight seasons, the General Manager position was handed over to Jack Edgar who was not reluctant to pull the trigger when given offers as he executed on four trades this past off-season. Edgar was bringing in great talent quickly which led many to believe this Legion team was one of the best we've seen in nearly a decade. With one of the best goaltenders in the league, if not the best goaltender, Remy LeBeau has led the Toronto Legion to great runs the past five seasons. However, they have always came short of begin crowned champions and now this may be their chance. In LeBeau’s five year tenure he’s registered great numbers in his road to becoming the number one goalie in the VHL which quickly focused once he was awarded the Aidan Shaw award back in season 34. With the help of Toronto’s defensive core it could be that the tandem they have in net and on defense can help LeBeau win another Aidan Shaw trophy with the likes of defensemen Jack Sound, Ville Sixten and Nikita Lebedev who have helped stop the pucks and execute on the offensive end. Lebedev, Sixten, and Sound all sit with 21 points combined, a +8 plus/minus rating, 57 shots blocked, and only 18 penalty minutes. Toronto’s offense stands well put with Teemu Lehtinen, Jakub Kjellberg, Evgeny Namestnikov, Niklas Lindberg, and Chico Salmon skating in their top six. Niklas Lindberg and Nikita Lebedev’s 13 points not only lead the team in scoring but also, lays them third in the league. On a strong push the team is rapidly moving ahead in the standings with their three game winning streak as they look to possibly extend that to four. Lindberg, Lehtinen, and Salmon are easily the most offensive-minded line on the team as combined they have tallied for 16 goals and 32 points leading the team as the highest scoring line. Toronto’s gears are set and if the team can continue this play against these elite teams it will only contribute to success in the long run. With their elite goalie, high tier defense, and forceful offensive team there is only good things in store for the team. Fans in the GTA are setting up for what could be the biggest year for the team since season 29. We can only hope for the best can the boys in blue bring back a cup for the roaring fans back here in Toronto, time will only tell.

  12. Legion's Lebedev questionable Sunday, 12.29.2013 / 10:05 PM Nikita Lebedev tells reporters he expects this season to be one of his best yet although many still question his ability to be a top player in the VHL. He demands nothing more than being the best that he could possibly be. In an interview he spoke that he wants to bring a huge adrenaline rush to the team like he did in his beginning seasons. With many pracitce hours put into work the defender will be key to the Legion's defensive core as he grinds out the minutes. Toronto looks set for a distant playoff push, they might even qualify for the finals with the help of goaltender Remy LeBeau. Jack Edgar has put in a lot of time and effort for this team to become nearly one of the beasts in the east. Time will just tell if his smarts will play off as a Continental Cup is now set in their eyes.
