With all web hosting companies I'm sure they had an in depth contract about when they can shut off services, 800MBps was likely one of those circumstances.

Exactly, the only issue is finding a free web host that gives you over 6GB free. Worst case we pay $5 and get a month of it.

SMF the software is open source, you can grab it for free if you have web space. http://download.simplemachines.org/ Or you can run a local XAMPP server and get it running on that, PM or post here if you have questions.

I understand that it's all code, but it likely has the database that is useful if I use it to restore a backup using SMF.

I have some web experience so I'll download the backup on Monday and run a local server to see everything. Unless someone else gets it sorted by then.
