That alone wasn't enough to do so. He had to manage to make trades to bring in Boubabi and then grabbed my goalie. Also some other moves were used to bring in other players. Go look at all Higgins did that off-season.

The league might not have existed as it currently is either then. We probably would have seen a reset or a huge reduction in teams. The 2nd players have been filling teams in the VHL.

There was no guarantee to winning said cups. We had lost our first season to a very strong Stockholm team. Mainly due to my play at goalie, but then the next season, (our first cup), we beat Stockholm who had by far the best season in decades. That was one of the biggest challenges any team would have ever had to face. This past season, we still had to face off against Stockholm who was not as good but still one hell of a challenge. We could have easily lost three years in a row. The sim somehow helped us out and we got two cups out of it so far.

Sometimes it's not always the player that makes the decision. Sometimes a GM makes it by trading for the player and therefore they are on a competing team thanks to a GM. You have to think about all possible scenarios when talking about the 2nd player system.

My career length is the same as Jacob's. Same draft class. Once I am gone, he is. Higgins already said he won't be trading me so Jacob therefore remains in Calgary. Check and mate.

Well as long as you don't mind being the broken record, go for it.

Either way, good luck this season @Smarch. I look forward to some awesome games against your team this year.

What's the point in reporting it if you post the same shit over and over again though? I mean just as much as you get tired of seeing my guy in these, don't you get tired of writing that over and over again?

VHLSC S57: Draft Rankings #1 - Emoji's
Da Trifecta replied to Kendrick's topic in VHCS Draft Rankings
You have 2 player's. Two things to write about. Mag stuff/this. Gives you the content you need for both players. Also it don't need to look as good, just give us content to read. -
The career paths of the player's play out as long as I need them to. Sometimes it affects GM's in negative ways and sometimes they knew it was coming. It could also make for some good media spots as it could be seen as some real life shit where some people do retire. Then I could write about their lives after hockey and what they are doing. Also I do know the market. It was hard to make the trade happen, but after talking with Bushito, I understand his reasoning for what he did. Everyone has their own way of doing things and just because I haven't GM'ed in the league, doesn't mean I don't have the mentality to be one. I just see things as how I would have done them. Now them being done differently is obviously going to happen because it's not me. Therefore, I am stating what I see happening based off if I was the GM.

I know, I was already in the middle of typing when those responses came in.

VHLSC S57: Draft Rankings #1 - Emoji's
Da Trifecta replied to Kendrick's topic in VHCS Draft Rankings
How about you do one for a media spot in the off-weeks? -
I was typing fast and was going to say he was treading in thin water. It just managed to come across as a wrong statement.
-
Because you make it the main focus. How about talk about how I dedicate to a team and bring activity to it. I have been helping keep things interesting in the VHLM where people want to scrap it. It is also cool to see myself in the prospect rankings big board. It's just who I am. I like creating players and bringing buzz to them. It's what I have been doing for years on video games and it just transferred over to sim leagues. I get upset that you're like "hey, he is going to quit on you." How about just not say it. I am quite certain GM's already know they risk they run when they draft a player by me. Unless a GM is brand new to the league and knows nothing of me, then it's safe to say they know how I do things. Higgins knew what he was getting into and it has worked out just fine. Hell I know of a few GM's that are already looking at my player and they know the risk that comes with my player's.
-
There you go again with the "I was a GM, you weren't" sentiment. No one really cares if you GM'ed, are one or will be one. I don't need to be one to talk about this. Also your GM'ing has been horrid since I came in back in season 33 so, I'd beg to differ about your "titles" of days past. Also the jab at my common sense? Tsk tsk Kendrick. Treading on thin water. Every decision I have made was for the better. It kept me around in the VHL for over 20 seasons now. You are trying to down my decision to retire players, but really it's something that lifts me up. Why you ask? Because it keeps me around, keeps me interested and keeps things fresh for me.
-
Here comes the high and mighty, "I have been a GM so this trade is alright." Then the "Oh he hasn't been GM so what he says doesn't mean shit." Nice way to look at things. I'd take my common sense over your "GM'ing" skills any day.
-
It's called common sense. We may be underestimating punk and he could be a mad genius with all his deals. Who knows.
-
The condition for that was he had to take on punk's player for another first as well. If not it was set to be 4 picks for him. The more you know, the better off you are. Am I right @punkhippie?
-
I am quite certain punk got 4 firsts in the trades made so yeah, 4 sounds about right.
-
Who want a goalie who collects welfare and is probably going to max out around 700 tpe in his career? I am not knocking street here but ever since hearing he was going to Davos, he kind of just gave up.
-
Why would I say something where 4 firsts are traded for that? Your logic on trading is absolute shit. One bad draft comes along, then we get all the others being a lot deeper. The next few drafts look loaded with talent and Cologne could make the best of it or they could trade out for other picks. The thing is, they have that ammo to make things happen. Now it's on punk to make that happen. That deal was more than reasonable. This one? This one is laughable.
