Helmet technology has changed drastically in the past century. From Jacques Plante to Dan Clouiers bucket, from Teemu's Jofa and Gretzky's iconic lid to Marian Gaborik's tinted visor, many styles and forms of protection have graced the ice. Currently, the visor regulation is being grandfathered in in many leagues world wide. Young players are being forced to wear full face shields prior to their 18th birthday, and in Europe, visors are to be used after the player turns 18. There is no doubt that there are many safety benefits in wearing a visor and/or face shield, but it takes away the fundamental truth that seperates the game of hockey from the other major sports in North America, hockey is not for pussys. The fear a goalie used to face when a flying rubber puck was being projected at their noggin with zero protection, only their instincts to save them, was the essence of badass hockey that affirmed a white ice would only be used well when it was painted red by the end of the game. That is the type of hockey that gave us legends, the Stanley Cup, and pride for our sport. The uber focus on protecting the pretty faces of young players is not developing hockey players into warriors, instead, condition athlete pansies. I say no to visors. I have been victim of the missing avatar curse. My avatar has disappeared twice, and in both circumstances, I was unable to add a new one without intervention from Higgins. Rather than consistently bugging him, I would like there to be a permanent fix so that my avatar will: A. Stay and not disappear B. When/If it does disappear, have the ability to upload a new one rather than only using a url. This is what my avatar options look like currently, and if I try to place a URL, it gives me the 50kb error even though the image size is smaller than 50kb

Helsinki is not playing great. Andrew Erikson and the Ottawa Lynx are. This predicament has really been tough on both the Titans and the Lynx as the Titans feel as if they really would benefit with having their young rookie join the ranks of the big club and anchor a spot on the depth chart to play a two-way game and really grow into a formidable force with the teammates he will play with in the future whereas, the Lynx are in need of Erikson's point production and leadership in the minors. The Lynx, being placed in the hardest conference in the VHLM, are fighting for every point and will no doubt miss their star second year forward and his chemistry with team point leader, Thomas O'Malley if he were to be called up. So far, the conversations have been put on hold as Erikson declared he would finish the season with Ottawa and fight for a championship while continuing his development, but with the morale of Helsinki's locker room dipping, a call-up may be imminent. But really, nobody cares.
