  1. Daniel Weaver is finally having his breakout season after 2 seasons in the league. Daniel Weaver now has 79 points in 66 games and he's only 10 points away from being in the top 10. Some might say he would have easily been in the top 10 if it wasn't for his slow start when the season started. He still has the chance to hit 90 points with the 6 games remaining if he decides to pop off at the end. Within the 79 points, there are 31 goals and 48 assists just outside of the top 10 in both of those major stats. All of his other stats have also improved, especially the -/+ because he went from a -31 to a +10. The only stats that didn't improve is his shot-blocking, but with 99 shot block in a season is very hard to beat for a forward. The team is still trying to compete for a playoff spot in the really competitive EU, one team could be in second place one day and last place the next day! With a young team, there are bound to make mistakes at the end of the season, but Daniel Weaver is hoping to step up his game a little bit and win us the games despite those mistakes. If they make the playoff, it will be the first time in his career and he wants it to be a special moment for him. Anyways, Daniel Weaver is almost at his peak and he's excited for what has to come for him.
  2. 1. What's your thoughts on the trade deadline? We could of done a trade to boost our second line defensively cuz they are hurting a lot. 2. How has the loss of Tavish DeGroot affected the locker room? Pretty sad, he was our first very good offensively d-men on the team and he proved it with his stats. 3. Riga is currently 4th in the Euro conference - how does this compare to your expectations? We were expect to be in the lottery so I just hope we can make the playoff now. 4. What's the message to the team being a young rebuilding team potentially heading into the playoffs against more experienced teams? That our time is coming soon. 5. Spring Training started for the MLB. On a scale of 0 to 10 how much do you actually care and who's your favorite team if you're answer isn't 0? 2, who watch these frl. 6. What is your dream vehicle? A Mercedes to be honest
  3. 1. One week later, we're still pretty close to a playoff spot! In your opinion, does it makes sense to buy players? Yes since Riga has been rebuilding for a while now. The fans can't keep waiting nor the players. 2. Theme week related, which team or which player has been your biggest rival in VHL to this day? I don't have someone who can stand by my side as a rival but I guess tina could be one. 3. As of this moment, Weaver is sitting 5th league wide in shots made. Do you think he can hit 450 shots this season? Easily since we traded away one of our best d-men so more loads for him to carry on offence. 4. Sadie as the rookie leader in points after 72 games - yay or nay? With Weaver suggesting him to get first line minutes, for sure. 5. Do you think rookies having tougher time to score a lot in hybrid era? Yes for sure, which I don't know why people are sad about it. 6. Are you happy Chiefs won? I would of liked eagles instead
  4. 1. As of now, we're still hanging on with a fairly decent record. Do you think we could've done better? I think we can with a bit more scoring. The goalies are doing great and our defense is doing its job so far. 2. What's the most surprising thing about this season for you so far? Did not expect Logan Ablair to play this well, it's unfortunate that he's not getting any playing time anymore. 3. Who do you think will miss the playoffs from EU conference, outside of Helsinki ofc. Probably Riga Reign because we are not ready yet. 4. I couldn't bring Sano III back so I spent a second rounder for an inactive. how much of a failure that move was? Sano is still producing very good so not that bad, but since we aren't making the playoff. It's a waste then. 5. Did you watch NHL All star event? Did you enjoy it? Yes, it was a bit nice this season but they are still far behind from other leagues. 6. Your opinion on Bo Horvat trade? I'm a habs fans and I don't want Vancouver to be more bad then us so aII don't like that trade
  5. 1. As of this moment, Riga is sporting a 7-4 record. Is this a surprise for you? Yes, we were expected to suck a lot. 2. Are you happy with your performance so far? Very happy, but more goal-scoring would be welcome here. 3. The Riga MVP so far in your opinion? Have to be either Daniel Weaver or Henry Tucker Jr. 4. Who did you pick for David Knight award and why it's me? 5. This post will be this thread's 1000th! Any celebration plans? 6. Always was wondering, any of yall watching MLB? and why?
  6. After a disappointing rookie season and a lackluster sophomore season. Daniel Weaver has really taken up a notch and is producing a point per game for the Riga Reign. He has 32 points in 27 games which makes him just outside of the top 10 by 3 points. His performance so far has given him a chance to make the all-star game as he was one of the players for Riga that has been selected to be in the voting. His chances are pretty low because he is not the most popular one in the league, but it's a feat that he's still proud of. He's also tied for 5th in the assist leader, one category that he did not expect to compete in earlier in his career. What is surprising so far is that he only has 9 goals in 27 games, but he is only shooting 4% so far. This could be good news because that can only go up once the season goes more deep. Daniel Weaver: I've been having a lot of fun out there. This season, I don't need to focus all my attention on defense which explains why I'm not blocking one shot a game this season. Playing with a player like Travish has made life a lot easier for me so far. I still need to adjust my shooting because my chances have been there, but I haven't converted those yet. Once I do, I believe I can become a top player in the league. We also been using a lot of lineups but I haven't had the chance to play with Sadie St-Louis yet. I hope the coach can let us play together sooner rather then later
  7. 1. As of this moment, Riga is sporting a 7-4 record. Is this a surprise for you? For sure, better thenn last season and a lot of people thought we would suck again. 2. Are you happy with your performance so far? I'm glad. I hoped I could be one of the leaders, but at least my performance had me in the all star votings so far. 3. The Riga MVP so far in your opinion? Defintely Henry TUcker Jr. We would not be in this position without his second best sv% at the moment. 4. Who did you pick for David Knight award and why it's me? Because of the draft and signing Travis DeGroot even tho I said it first cough. 5. This post will be this thread's 1000th! Any celebration plans? Double sims maybe? 6. Always was wondering, any of yall watching MLB? and why? I don't watch it, it's way too long
  8. 1. Skor McFleury baby! how excited were you when finding out our pick? It's great for the future of this team for sure. 2. but also Stefan Norris, Braeden Panarella, Mclean Hoover II and Troy Conlon baby! Do you think all of them can become steals down the road? Hopefully they can become better, we need any help that we could get down the road. 3. Tavish DeGroot baby! how surprising this signing was for you? I asked to maybe get him and we got him so I'm not that surprised. 4. How much wins can we get this season? A dream would be 40 wins 5. If Riga for some reason won't win the cup, who are you rooting for? Contract payday hehe 6. who wins the superbowl in your opinion? Probably the chiefs because the QB is just like that
  9. 1. what are your thoughts on ''clicker players'' struggling to get signed by any VHL team? It's unfortunate, I was once one of them so I feel there pain. 2. do you agree with this decision by commishes to tackle the clickers current problem? Could be better, but there hands are still restraint for what they can do. 3. do you think the VHL season will have the most parity we've ever seen? Probably since the cap space is quite low so not a lot of superteams. 4. however, can the next season become even more parity based considering no one will be auto retired after this season? Really? That's insane, there might be a lot of players that won't be on teams tho. 5. are you happy with the VHFL team you have now? Not really, just went random to be honest. 6. is mid season the most boring part of the season? cause I think it is For sure since sims are only simmed once a day.
  10. ngl can I just auto pick for d-men. Whoever has the highesst TPA left. For goalie, whoever is warsaw starter lmao
  11. F - Nico Pearce D - Hari Singh Nalwa
  12. F - The Board Game Clue On Skates F - Daniel Weaver @Pifferfish
  13. After a couple of tanking and trading seasons, Riga Reign looks amazing for the future. The general manager hedgehog337 and the assistant kelvi has done a good job re-building this team since the departure of two-time Alexander Beketov Trophy, Battrre Sandstrom.A lot of people are not expecting much from Riga Reign, but Daniel Weaver believes that this could be an underdog season for Riga. Why? Riga Reign is paying a lot of money for the goalies. They have two caliber starting goalies on the same team. The backup, Ed Nu, posted a 0.922% save percentage while being on a bad team last season. Riga is expecting him to steal a lot of games whenever Henry Tucker Jr needs to rest. The franchise goalie, Henry Tucker Jr is expecting to become a top goalie in the VHL in the upcoming seasons, he's still very young and he posted a 0.921 save percentage on the worst team in the league last season. They were both just outside of the top 10 goalies last season and now we are hoping that they can steal as many games as possible for the team. Having two reliable goalies every night is very reassuring for us as well. The defense score has improved incredibly this season. Daniel Weaver talked to the management about trying to get the top defensemen in free agency, Travish DeGroot. Surprisingly, he decided to take his talent to Riga for a season. Daniel Weaver is excited to play alongside such gifted offensive defensemen this season and is hoping they can make some sick plays. Riga also acquired the talents of Logan Abelar and Calix Pearce who are great depth defensemen that can both hit a lot and shot block a lot. The fan-favorite James Marino is also back, the team is expecting his stats to take a hit since he won't need to do everything on the ice, but he's still the most reliable man on the team. Finally, with the 2nd overall pick, Riga Reign had the chance to select Skor McFleury. He'll be playing in the VHL this season and he'll probably hit a lot of bumps this season. He will most likely have a rough two seasons like Phil Strasmore in Calgary, but he will be at his peak once he gains all the experience he needs during those two seasons of learning behind Travish DeGroot. Now the forward core. They have a very exciting first line that's been hoping to play since last season. The trio Daniel Weaver- The Frenchman - Sadie St-Louis will finally play together. It will be expected that they will have a slow start this season since Sadie St-Louis is a rookie playing first-line minutes, but once things start to gel. It will be a very fun offensive line to watch every night for Riga. It feels like a Caufield - Suzuki - Dach line in NHL terms. The only negative about this team is the second line. A lot of teams will have a field day on our second-line inexperience on defence, but regardless Daniel Clarke is an impressive C that can do it all while Jon Webber Jr can have all the opportunities that he can get on that second line. Expect him to score a lot of goals if he figures things out. Can't forget James glove dropper, a favorite when it comes to physically and hits! They also have Braeden Panarella and Stefan Norris as exciting prospects in the VHLM or VHLE. Hopefully they can help us in the VHL in the upcoming seasons.
  14. 1. How do you feel about Riga heading into the draft - any draftees you're hoping to play with next year? Skor McFlurry would be the best possible pick for us right now. 2. How has your player been treating this offseason - mostly training or relaxing? Mostly relaxing, it's his last year of his entry deal so he's taking it easy to be 100% for the season. 3. Are you playing in any of the World Cup or WJC tournaments? Playing in the World Cup with team World so this will be fun. 4. Do you expect your player to have a 9 season career or retire early? Probably 9 season career just so I can have more stats and maybe win won more throphy. 5. Do you like the current NHL playoff format? Not really, it's boring. The two best team could face in the second round which is vrey lame. 6. What's the most exciting thing about the weekend for you? Preparing for school
