1 - Nope. I keep doing the same thing. If it ain't broke, Don't fix it!

2 - I walk up to Alexander Stroheim and wiggle his ears before every period. Seems to be working well for both of us so why stop now.

3 - Oh did i ever lol. New pair of skates for sure. The old ones are worn out. Some sexy CCM Jetspeed FT4 Ice Hockey Skates
    for sure.

4 - The Hype Helps stay focused for sure. The Tpe is going to distributed in some defensive aspects. or offensive. We'll see what the GM wants to do.

5 - I would assume so. I have not been drafted yet so i'm pretty sure i'll be back.

6 - White christmas. There are a lot of happy memories with my family tied to that song and whenever i hear it i remember them. All good things!!! Also @Thunder, Merry Christmas man!!!

    1.  GM Cole is preparing the Kings for a play off run by picking up a promising defender by the name of Mark Calaway.  What can you tell Calaway about Mexico City and how will you welcome Mark?

    - I think Cole addressed a need the has. defense was a weak spot and he went out and did what he could to strengthen it. Mark was given the tour of Mexico city, our facilities and our watering hole, which he seemed to enjoy. The team took him ou tto a nice dinner, and this time the new guy paid!

    2.  GM Cole is at it again, building the defense for the playoffs.  Reese McFleury has joined the team from Las Vegas.  With the addition of McFleury, is there anything that can stop us now?

-Yes, the name San Diego Marlins sound familiar. They are a really good team. That said i don't see us making it easy for them. We've got a few wins on them and them on us so a playoff series will be close in my opinion. But after that, It's all open.

    3.  Another question about our league leader, Stroheim.  Describe Stroheim’s performance in one word.

    - GOAT

    4. Is Buffalo Sabre center Tage Thompson going to win the Maurice Richard Trophy this season?

    - No, There's this guy named Connor McDavid who leads the league in Goals points and assists and as long as he doesn't get injured, he's winning it. Then there's Jason Robertson who at the moment has 2 goals more than Tage and right behind tage is a guy who can go on a run and light up the net in Leon Draisaitl. It's a great story for Tage but Good luck.

    5.  Right now, Mexico City is ranked 4th.  Do you think it will matter if we finish the season in 3rd or 4th?  How far will we go into the playoffs?

    - We are fine in 4th. We are going to have to go through San Diego no matter what so 3rd or 4th doesn't matter too much. Don't get me wrong if we can push then great, but the reality is we are fine in 4th.

    6.  What is your favorite childhood cookie and do you still eat them now?  Also, if you really want to get in depth, who makes the best cookie?

    - It was a cookie filled with lemon cream. The best cookie i've had. I could polish a sleeve in the cookie tray without blinking.  My mom still makes the best cookie. Its a lemon ricotta Christmas cookie. It only comes out once a year and it's gone before they hit the table.

    1.  After one week in the VHLM, is it what you expected being on the Mexico City Kings?  Are you pleased with your player’s performance?

    - I figured we would be a middle of the pack team and after 28 games we are sitting 3rd, Tied with a team like Ottawa. When your surrounded by teams like Ottawa, San Diego and Philadelphia, You must be doing something right.

    2.  What teammate do you think deserves the most valuable player so far?

    -  Well, there's a shitty question. lol. It's a tough one. Stroheim has been on a tear and he probably deserves it the most, Tho Grizz Tazzo also is up there. We also can't forget our Goalie Ross Glagau, I mean we basically leave him a lone all game and he still keeps us in it.

    3.  What NHL team would you like to be on?

    - I grew a Montreal Canadiens fan, and i would love to be on that team right now. A lot of youth and a lot of upside to that team. Other than them tho, I would say the Oilers. Give a chance to play with McDavid please.

    4.  Alexander Stroheim is dominating the stat board, with Tim Riggins and Grizz Tazzo right behind in assists.  Do you see these three on the leader board when the season is over?

    - I do, The trio is probably one of, if not the best trio in the league right now. They seem to be Pushing, Game in and game out, and with updating, this trio may just set a new record.

    5.  What are your pets and their names?

    - Chicco ( our ClownFish ) and Bruce ( our Husky ) Obviously Bruce is the more active playful one of the two . lol.

    6.  Does pineapple ever go on a pizza?

    - Never, This shouldn't be a question. Why would anyone ever consider this a good idea.

    1.  It’s Theme Week.  Are you a first Gen?  What can you offer other first gens regarding the VHL?

    - I am technically a first Gen. The biggest thing i can offer another first Gen is don't give up right away. It can be a little confusing at the start if you've never done this but once you get the hang of it, It really is a lot of fun.

    2.  Alexander Stroheim continues to lead the VHLM in all scoring categories, do you see Stroheim the front runner for MVP?
    - I answered this last week...Yes he's and MVP, Yes he's amazing, Yes he's single handedly carrying this team, Yes he's the greatest player of all time.... Can we get questions of other team players like ...I don't know Captain Nugget, Grizz Tazzo or Ross Glagau?

    3.  If you could give anything to one person in your life, who would it be and what would you gift them?

    - Wow, Good question, I would have to give my guitars to one of my best friends. He's a great guitarist and would love my gear. I'm sure he would put them to good use.

    4.  The World Cup is in the round of 16, is your team still in the running for the cup?  If not, who do you WANT to see winning the cup?

    - My team didn't make the World Cup, and my second team is out. I would love to see Croatia win it. I think they are great and deserve one. Then there is MEssi and Agrentina. Would love to see them hoist one as well but i doubt they make it past the nest round.

    5.  Mexico City is 21 points behind the San Diego Marlins.  Do you think we can overtake them before the end of the season?

    - Nope. San Diego is running away with it this season and that's fine. We may not overtake them in 72 games but we've beaten them more than once and we can beat them when it counts...PLAYOFFS BABY!!!

    6.  Should alcohol be added to eggnog, and if so what tastes the best?

    - UHHMMMM yup. Definitely it should. Rum could be a good addition but in mu experience, if you put in enough vodka then it tastes nice....or maybe it's just from the effects of all the drinks i've had before... I don't know anymore..

    1.  Alexander Stroheim continues to dominate the league where it counts.  How you rate Stroheim’s performance so far this season?

    - If he's not league MVP by the end of the season then it must be rigged. Alex has been on an absolute tear. 30 games into the season and a 13 point lead. I mean really?

    2.  How many of the World Cup games have you watched?

    - Probably 8 or 9. I love the world cup. Even tho i have very strong opinions about FIFA as an organization. The games have been fun to watch.

    3.  Griffin Bellamy and Colton Heffelfinger recently joined the team and have made an immediate impact.  How did you welcome them to the Kings?

    - We took them out to a fancy restaurant.  Before you get any ideas we didn't let them pay for supper. We let them pay for the limo rentals and hotel for the night lol. We had fun. Welcomed them to Mexico city in a way worth of a KING.

    4.  How long have you been in the VHL?

    - Not long enough. my last player didn't last very long. I am enjoying Riggins tho.

    5.  Do you agree with me that Cole should be voted the GM of the season?

    - Yes I do agree. Cole has done an amazing job with this team and put us in a place where we have superseded expectations.

    6.  What is your favorite snack when watching sports on TV?

    - OH BOY. Chicken wings, Chips and dip, Popcorn Chicken, Nashville hot chicken Sandwiches...man there is a lot of Chicken. and maybe Steak tips.

    Mexico City Kings Royal Guard

Who is on the Royal Guard?

The Mexico City Kings have found themselves after 28 games at a 17-10-1 record and a 4 game win streak, which is good for 3rd in the entire league, 2nd in the Western Conference. The Mexico City Kings have shown every single season that they are a competitor, and it doesn't matter what roster they put forward, they'll always be a scary threat. This season though, things were different as the expectations for the Kings weren't as high as the last two previous seasons. Many fans and analysts had the Mexico City Kings ranked in the two previous seasons anywhere from 2nd-4th place, competing for that top side and potentially taking home the trophy. However, this season the Kings took a different path, which was attempting to develop their players, which was a weaker draft for the league overall. After the draft, many expected the Kings to be anywhere from 6th-8th place, especially after they had traded Darius Marimoto II to the Miami Marauders for picks, it seemed that the Kings were not going to be as competitive this season. However, that was all apart of the Kings plan, as they now have one of the most dynamic trios in the entire league. The Royal Guard this season is comprised of the best players for the Kings, the players who do a lot of the heavy lifting and without them, the Kings would not be in the place that they are now. Starting off first, is the most important member, Alexander Stroheim. Stroheim has already almost eclipsed the point-per-game mark in the VHLM, only 28 games in with 24G 40A, good for 64PTS and a +13. To say that Stroheim is the backbone of the team is an understatement, this player has been absolutely insane for the Kings since Day 1, and now given the opportunity to be a big part of the Kings this season, they took that opportunity and ran for it. Stroheim is currently first in the league in points, with a 15 point lead over the second place player. They also are first in goals, assists, and shots, absolute domination from Stroheim. Next up, the second member of the Royal Guard and the trio that does most of the lifting for the Kings is Grizz Tazzo. Tazzo came into the league last season as a waiver player and didn't have much success on a very stacked Kings team. Tazzo however found himself back on the Kings after they were selected 17th overall in the most recent VHLM Draft. Tazzo brings a great threat to the Stroheim-Tazzo-Riggins line, where if you decide to double team Stroheim, you're leading Tazzo wide open who has an impressive stat-line on his own. Tazzo currently with the Kings has 19G 25A, which leads to 44PTS and a +18. Tazzo has found himself linking up with Stroheim multiple times in every game, where he is able to show that if you're able to give Tazzo a great linemate, he can absolutely destroy even the best teams in the league. Tazzo currently finds himself 9th in the league in points and just outside the top ten for goals, while he's at 9th in assists. If Stroheim is the sword for the line, Tazzo is the shield, where this duo together can single handedly carry a team. However, what's a guard without any armor? That's where their third linemate Tim Riggins comes into play for the Mexico City Kings. Tim Riggins found himself on the Mexico City Kings due to the Darius Marimoto trade, where Riggins was selected with one of the many picks acquired by Mexico in that trade. Riggins was selected 28th overall and the Kings are very pleased to have him apart of the team. Coming into the scene, Riggins made himself known to be a team player, willing to do whatever the coach and the general manager needed him to do. Tim Riggins is the rock for the line, he's the one who's willing to sacrifice his offensive play to make sure that Stroheim and Tazzo are able to take great risks, while knowing that Riggins will always have their back if things go south. However, that doesn't mean that Riggins doesn't have any offensive production himself, as he currently sits at 10G 29A, slotting in at 39PTS and a +12. On top of that, Riggins is top 5 in assists, finding himself 5th in the league in assists. If Stroheim is the sword, Tazzo is the shield, then Riggins is the armor that protects that line from any defensive errors. This line is one of the most dominant lines that the Mexico City Kings have ever assembled and we're only 28 games into the season.

Why is the Royal Guard so special?

Now that I've explained who is on the Royal Guard, why is the Royal Guard so special? This line combination of Stroheim-Tazzo-Riggins not only compliments themselves very, very well, but they're the best first line in the league in my eyes. Now, I haven't done any statistical analysis or gone super in depth, but having three players that are almost top ten in the league should say something about this line. This line alone has produced 53 goals for the Mexico City Kings and their team as a whole has scored 116 goals on the season, which is the most goals in the entire league, even more then the 24-4-0 San Diego Marlins! That means that this specific line has scored 45.69% of the Mexico City Kings goals, which is absolutely insane if you think about it. This doesn't even count the defenseman's contribution towards the goal total, only the forward line. Not only that, but the line in total has 147 points, with the rest of the team having 157 points. This line is only 11 points away from having more points than the rest of the team combined. Let that sink in for a minute. A singular line of three players almost has more points than the remaining 8 players on the team. Some teams rely on depth for their scoring, or one superstar to lead them all the way to the finals, however what makes the Kings different is that they have a trio that no team in the league has found a way to match yet. Although the team struggles heavily with keeping the puck out of the net, they'll be fine taking the game into a shoot out, where the Kings usually come out on top. This trio is just getting started and with only 28 games played, we'll have to see where they are towards the end of the season. This line very well could put up 300+ points and have three players over 100 points at the end of the season!

Jayhawk reacted to Thunder in Mexico City is looking good for the season
It’s time to get ready for the next season in the VHLM and GM Cole, @badcolethetitan has set the Mexico City Kings up for another run for the cup.  Coming off a successful season, Cole recognized early on that the team needed some new studs to be competitive after losing some serious talent.  Cole immediately searched for a goalie and found Ross Glagau, @Zetterberg, to step up for the challenge.  Defensively, Quinn Saint-Willes, @Squids McKenzie, is expected to hold down the fort again this season and hopefully some added talent will give Quinn some support.

Offensively, the Kings look to lead the league in points as captain nugget, @Captain nugget, and Alexander Stroheim, @Stroheim, are coming back seasoned and hungry for a cup.  In addition to the above mentioned scorers, George Castanza, @fonziGG, joined Kings mid season and immediately had an impact.  With rookies coming in to help with the offense, GM Cole can sit back and enjoy his accomplishments; however, dont expect GM Cole to just sit back and do nothing.

GM Cole resonates hard work and determination.  Cole is looking two, maybe three steps ahead of other GM’s and is calculating how to keep his Mexico City Kings on top and competitive.  We all look forward to what he has next for the Kings.

The Mexico City Kings came into the draft with a clear plan. They knew who they were targeting throughout the draft. However at 28 Overall they picked Tim Riggins, A little known player from Canada who seems to have a lot to bring.

Sure he Interviewed well, but there was little interest in the 6 foot 6, 220 pound teenager. Little is really known of him other than his potential. But isn’t that what the draft is all about? Drafting potential? I mean no one really knows what’s going to happen with any of these prospects. Some may overacheive, some may fall short.

Tim “ BIG RIG “ Riggins comes with a high potential for sure. His love of hitting is where the nick name BIG RIG comes from. But its his ability around the net that makes him an interesting prospect. He loves garbage goals. He has a knack for finding the puck around the blue paint. Of course that was before the draft. He now has to find and develop his game to the VHLM and hope he can do it quickly. Time will tell if he achieves it or not, but one thing is for sure, he’s going to push hard to be achieve his goals.

    1-Favorite Summer activity?
Hitting the Beach in the Dominican, or my pool, or hang inside with the A/C blasting

2-Do you like the weather to be hot or cold? (why)
I like both the hot and cold, but not to the extremes, there's something unpleasant about +40 degrees or - 40 degrees Celsius. Yes thats a huge swing but we definatley get that here.

4-Should VHL and VHLM teams have fun summer logos? what would ours look like?
Nope. A brand is a brand. You don't see NIKE or ADIDAS changing their logos for the summer.

5-lemonade, sweet tea, iced tea, beer or a cooler? what is the perfect summer drink?
All of the Above, some even mixed together. Put that Lemonade with a cooler or Sweet tea, Get that Iced tea spiked, BEER is BEER!

6-Who puts alcohol in their water bottle?
Your talking to him. Oh and our GM and COACH. I'm convinced it's the only way to handle us with sanity.
