  1. Damn this one hit deep. Speaks close to home, got me tearing up at 3 am . By the way, on a more positive note, I'm holding my breath to hear more about Breeze and Grace, a love story to rival The Notebook.
  2. Advantage, oh, Advantage, what a wonderful piece you have written here. It seems I am short 1 capped TPE, so I am going to review your piece in the most serious of tones. The formatting is great for a re-draft piece, I love the subheadings and organization of the stats. One small thing you could do with the formatting is just space each player out a bit more after the end of the paragraphs, this might just be a me thing though, my ADHD ass wants to pair the paragraph with the player name right below it. I appreciate that you added extra context to the stats, like with Palo, talking about his slow start and high highs. I don't know how many of these you plan on doing, if any more? But I would love to see you drop an inflammatory paragraph about a completely random player every now and then, I think that unnecessarily doing this is great for engagement and is peak journalism (I'm like 99% joking here, it would be great content). Anyways, I would love to see more of these, maybe a Season 67 draft featuring the legendary RJ Lloris. Great job overall! It was a good read.
  3. MacWallace recently shared a post on Instagram of him pictured with his new car, and it had one of those unnecessarily long captions that no one really reads all the way through... I've been living in Philadelphia for a while now, and one of the hardest parts has been getting around the city without my own car! When I started my search for a new car I didn't know where to even begin. That's when I met Barry, it was a complete coincidence but he had exactly what I was looking for. So, I am very excited to show off my beautiful 2006 Toyota Matrix! This thing has very minimal rust and low mileage which is great for an '06. I've had no issues with it so far. If you or anyone you know is interested in a cheap, used car, from a trustworthy spot in the Philadelphia area then hit up my guy Barry Davis on Facebook Marketplace! If you do end up buying a used car from him let him know I set you his way and he'll throw in a few car fresheners, a snow brush and some washer fluid all for free!
  4. 1. Favorite moment... Probably joining the team after the TDL and reuniting with two of my favorite people. 2. Well it is me. I have a very simple strategy for me current player: max earn and have a build that fits on any roster. 3. Take that Tzesar guy out of the lineup. I guarantee will win it all if he is on the bench. @Komrad 4. Um... I'm not too sure... Me again next season? 5. I'm sorry Reapers... I need that continental cup. Even if it's just the one. 6. I haven't been here long enough but I like Jakub Kovar @MichkovSzn, got to coach him at the WJC and I love a really active 1st Gen!! My favorite part of the team is the slogan... #ReapEm... It's very... interesting
  5. Tzesar 1OA guaranteed!!!
  6. Rolf Jakob MacWallace Defenseman -- Right-Handed Born: Malmo, Sweden 5'10'' -- 175 lbs [178 cm / 79 kg] A top prospect for the Season 100 VHL draft MacWallace has the mentality and skillset to exceed at the highest level. A product of the Malmo Redhawks and the Malmo Nighthawks orbit, MacWallace has a very refined game. His skating is already beyond what could be expected for a player at his age. Less tangibly, his vision is at a level on par with some VHL veterans. However, there are questions about his physicality and defense which is worrisome for a player who aspires to fill a top pairing role on the defence. Strengths: Skating - Rolf is a naturally gifted skater and has been working on his edgework and speed since he began playing hockey at 2 or 3 years old. It can only be improved as he continues to play against tougher competition. Regardless it is a big asset especially as he seeks to control the flow of the game. Puck Handling - Again, a uniquely gifted player and the effort that has been put into his handling is clear when watching him play. His handling and skating together create a technically gifted offensive defenseman with the ability to navigate incredibly tight spots on the ice. He can receive the luck anywhere and has had little difficulty doing so up to this point. Time should reveal that he will keep this up at every level. Vision - Rolf began as a center, his vision is part of the reason he switched to playing defense. Rolf has a unique ability to visualize and execute tough passes. Combined with his skating and handling he can operate as the motor of a team's offense, starting plays from deep within his own defensive zone. Weaknesses: Strength - Yes. Rolf is not physically strong, he cannot bully many off of the puck. He may have difficulty holding onto the puck when larger bodies apply pressure to him. His skating has gone a long way in making up for this, but questions surround if it can persist. Defence - Rolf is a unique offensive talent. Insisting on playing as a defenseman may harm him in the long run. There are many glaring holes in his defence. As discussed, he does not have the size or strength to force players off the puck. Despite his stick handling, he has not yet proven consistently effective in executing defensive plays with his stick. His IQ defensively is not near the level offensively. He has often left passing lanes open, covered the wrong man and overall has proven to be a liability on defence at times. He will need to address this if he wants to succeed at the next level. Rolf projects to be a top-pairing offensive defenseman, he would be best paired with a shutdown guy until or if his defensive liabilities can be flattened. [461 Words]

  9. Hi, I’m Joe ‘Blow’ Jabowski, host of First Scoop. I sat down with VHLM prospect Rolf Jakob MacWallace to discuss the start of his journey to get here and some contentious moments along the way. Join us for a very personal, inside scoop on Rolf. Joe Blow: Rolf, Rolf, can I call you Rolf? Rolf: Yeah. Rolf, I’ll start with something easy, get things moving, and get you comfortable. Hit me. Your uncle, Ronald MacWallace III, was one hell of a player, certainly, you looked up to him a lot as you were growing up. Do you think his inability to perform in high-pressure situations, ie; the playoffs, has had any impact on your game or your mentality? Moreover; do you think your family lineage is cursed? If this is the case do you see a point in even trying to pursue a career in the VHL? What’s the point if you’re never going to win it all? What? Would you like me to repeat the question? I thought it was pretty straightforward. Jesus. Um… I respect my uncle a lot. Of course, I wish they won it all. I was really close with a lot of that core. They used to let me go to Taco Bell with them. Um… What was the rest of that? Cursed? Pointless? Um… no, I’m passionate, of course I’m ready to give everything to win. So, you think that teams choker mentality wore off on you. I see… But, hey ready to try your best! Isn’t that just so good for you! Moving on… Malmo, what a beautiful city. So glad I was able to fly out here for this interview. Um. Yeah, it's great, was that a question? Oh right! So, is everyone in Malmo as mean as it seems? No one seems to respond to me when I ask them anything. I suppose a few people do but they seem very stupidm, they speak so funny. Sort of like you do. Whats up with that? Malmo… We… We’re Swedish, we speak Swedish. A lot of us speak English pretty well. Are you, you’re joking right? Sure, haha, I’m joking. Of course, you speak Swedish, that’s right I knew that. Back to the topic at hand. Who, apart from your uncle, would you say is your biggest inspiration, and who do you model your game after the most? Wow, finally a decent question. Hahaha, you are funny! All my questions are great! Me and my team work hard! Hahaha. Yeah… Anyways. Of course, Jacob Stone is a guy I look at, I’d love to have a career as great as he did. Oh, and maybe Quinn Hughes in the NHL? He’s a slick skater and I think I have a similar style to him. Haha! So your biggest role models… None of them have won a ring! What a crazy coincidence! Really? Stone is a legendary player. Quinn Hughes is just entering his prime… Whatever. Hahaha! Yes, whatever! You have such a laid-back attitude! Shrugging things off is easy Rolf. Hopefully, you aren’t shrugging practices and important games off! We would all hate to see you crash and burn. Hahaha joking of course! Are you serious? You're the one with attitude issues. Seriously. Let's move on Rolf! No need to get angry! That's not a good look! GMs are looking to sign you right now. Now, let's talk about your childhood some more! Nice… my favourite… Growing up so close to the Nighthawks players, you definitely knew some of the families. Yeah, I guess I was close with some of them. Viktor Jensen, and Ash Sparks when I was younger. There were a lot of good people on that team… The Tzesars for example! You and Krister were pretty close, weren't you? On account of your uncle and his dad being tight-knit! My uncle and Savaisk were good friends for sure. Me and Krister were not. Looking at how well Krister is doing, do you think you'll ever be able to match his success? Or will you always be one step behind him, cheering him on from the sidelines? No, I won't be cheering him on and he won't be a step ahead, he's too slow for that. Woah! Touchy subject! That is quite the reaction. Is that on account of him being a better player and better defender? He's not a good player, he plays the game like a stupid person. Well now, that's no way to talk about a fellow athlete! There's a lot of tension there, can I ask why? Jag gillar inte killen. End of story. Okay okay hahaha, I won't pry too much, I'm sure we'll be diving more into that in the future! Yeah, we'll see. Okay Rolf, you have a hard time with my questions! Here's something easy! A press conference question as it were! If you could be any flavour of chip what flavour would you be and why? Yeah… dill pickle I guess? Haha you're not even sure about that, You're a very unsure person Rolf, is that going to impact your decision making on the ice? Hey, look, if you keep up this whole weird attitude towards me, asking this type of questions. I will leave. I will leave. Haha, you're absolutely right, Rolf. We'll stop asking “this type of questions!” Now you are joking about my accent? You do not even speak a second language. Making fun of me. Stupid American. Hey hey hey… Let's just get a few more questions in. We're both adults, let's be civil Rolf, let's be civil! I wanted to ask you about your 18th birthday, you were spotted with a bunch of beans and there have been rumours circulating… something about a tricycle and some ducks? I'm not discussing that. I told you I wasn't discussing that. I'm leaving. You will not see me again. Idiot. … … … Well folks, that was Rolf MacWallace, defensive prospect for the VHLM. Honestly he must have been having a bad day… If it weren't for the word count we have to hit I think he would've left sooner. If there were any GMs watching take note of that boys attitude! Very laid-back, but so angry! And why? Anyways, I've been Joe ‘Blow’ Jabowski and this has been Inside Scoop. See you next time! [1053 Words]
  10. Rolf Jakob MacWallace: MacWallace’s story begins before he was born when his father moved from the Scottish Highlands to Malmo, Sweden to support his brother (Rolf’s uncle) at the beginning of his long career with the Malmo Nighthawks of the VHL. Rolf is the nephew of the retired Malmo star Ronald Johnson MacWallace III. He was born to a Swedish mother and Scottish father in Malmo and grew up watching his uncle's career unfold in Malmo. He began playing hockey when he was just 3 years old, supported a lot by his father, his uncle, and his mother, whose family also has a long history in the sport. When he started playing youth hockey he played as a forward, drawing inspiration from his uncle, whom he greatly admired. He continued his youth hockey journey in Malmo, developing his physical and mental skills. From an early age, his coaches and family could see his potential. He had close ties with the world of Malmo hockey but he did not want to be gifted opportunities, a lot of early mornings and late nights were spent improving his game. Rolf had a fire burning inside him, being “good enough” was not going to cut it. The only thing holding him back was his size, currently, Rolf is slightly undersized at 5 foot 10 and 185 pounds, and he has been undersized for most of his life playing hockey. He couldn’t let his size hold him back, and he didn’t. It only made the fire burn brighter in his push to be great. At age 14 he progressed onto the Malmo Redhawks U16 team. When he was 16 one of his coaches came to him with a proposition, Rolf had played strictly as a forward up to this point, but his read for the game was on another level and his coach suggested converting to playing defence so he could effectively quarterback plays. Given his small frame, many were skeptical if it was the right decision, Rolf himself took a lot of convincing and had his doubts, he idolized his uncle and wanted to play at the centre as he had, but he also respected his coach’s opinions and was willing to try. It proved to be the right call, Rolf’s vision and IQ allowed him to run the ice like the conductor of the Polar Express. “Seeing is believing but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can't see,” and no one could see the things Rolf could. The question of his size remained, could he be as effective on the defensive end? The answer, in all honesty, remains unclear. What is clear though is that Rolf is committed to improving in this aspect. He is capable of making great defensive plays with his stick, plus his exceptional skating and stick handling get his team out of sticky situations in their zone. Rolf is good, real good, the type of player you watch and he makes you say “Oh yeah, he’s good.” His uncle’s fame in Malmo made Rolf a target for hits and dirty plays. It must have been that they were jealous of how handsome and cool Ronald and Rolf were and still are… That must be it. Regardless, it was yet another motivation for him to keep improving. Despite his appreciation for his uncle and the Nighthawks team, he watched growing up, there has always been one thing he hated about watching them. Infamously, the Nighthawks core that won 3 Victory Cups never won a Continental Cup and this frustrated Rolf to his core. When he was 7 or 8 or maybe 11? (the timeline doesn’t add up and it never will, good thing this is just for fun) he watched the Season 92 Nighthawks get swept in the first round of the playoffs. He was young, and sad that his team and his uncle had lost, when he went to school the next day he was attacked by 3 older kids who made him apologize for his uncle’s performance. This was a consistent occurrence every time Malmo flamed out in the playoffs, one time he even had a chair thrown at him by a drunk man from the rooftop of a six-storey bar in ̶N̶a̶s̶h̶v̶i̶l̶l̶e̶ Malmo. Rolf hates losing, as do most people, but watching his uncle consistently choke in the playoffs was embarrassing for Rolf. It has been something that has always been sitting in the back of his mind, what if he turns into the perennial choke artist that his uncle was? All of that, along with the jealous and hateful comments about how he was given opportunities that he didn’t deserve because of his uncle, has developed a strain between the two. There is a sort of love-hate relationship there, where he idolizes and loves his uncle, but is still very resentful of him. Its the sort of thing you could see on some soap opera or on reality TV. We likely won’t get to see that as Rolf is entirely dedicated to his craft and is committed to becoming a bonafide legend in the VHL. We’ll be watching closely in the coming years as he grapples with his undersized frame and the legacy of his uncle. As he approaches the start of his VHLM career Rolf appeared for an interview where he talks about continuing his uncle’s legacy, growing up alongside Krister Von Casar Tzesar (son of another Nighthawks star, Savaisk Tzesar), and an incident involving some ducks, a can of beans and a tricycle. 11. Monday, April 5th: Rolf just landed in America and had the unmatched pleasure of navigating JFK... Could have been worse at least it wasn't Toronto Pearson. When he stepped out of the taxi he stood outside of his hotel and was in aw. "What a disgusting city, everything is dirty." He said to himself. Rolf is set to spend 3 nights in Manhattan while he mulls over which VHLM team to join for the remainder of the season. He is shocked by the state of things, Malmo is nothing like this. He's too hungry to consider offers right now and he's heard of the world famous New York slice, why not grab one? ... ... ... His face carries a worried look as he is handed his slice of pepperoni pizza... He bites into the greasiest piece of food he has ever eaten... And... "Terrible. I'm getting money back." After arguing with the counter staff for 5 minutes he walked out without his money or his slice of pizza. "That's it!" Rolf crossed his arms, "I'm going to get some real food!" He walked down the block and found the nearest Taco Bell where he enjoyed his cheesy gordita crunch.
  12. 1. I DID!! I am a Red Wolves believer and I was sad when they were terminated. The league fell apart without them and I stand by that. (2 league system is better of course. player count depending.) 2. He is the nephew of the legendary Ronald Johnson MacWallace III!!! 3. Greatest player in the season 100 class. Good luck to the rest of you. --- 1. If you could be any flavour of chip, what would it be? 2. Do you value individual or team awards more? Would you rather a McDavid type career (if it ended today) or a Hotdog Phil type of career? 3. Hit me with your favorite TV show of all time and give me some recommendations... I watch a lot of TV so I might check them out!! (If you don't watch TV hit me with your favorite type of media or something )
