These are the captain’s awards that are far more interesting than awards like Top Scorer “I scored the most goals so I’m guaranteed an award” award or Top Rookie “Gotta give the rookies their own award or they’d never win anything” award that GM Shindigs gives outs. These awards are for real, important things and the winners are personally chosen by the team captain, Juan Ceson himself.
 
Community Service Award

This award goes to a player who has shown dedication to the community in their own spare time. A lot of players are too focused on hockey to have a chance at this award, but one player stands out. Founding their very own hockey team, the Jersey City Jerseys, to enable players to have a team during the offseason and leading them to a very reputable fifth place this year, and captaining both the Jerseys and maintaining his Vegas captaincy, Juan Ceson has truly outdone himself here.

Moving away from home can be hard for anyone. Moving abroad to a country that doesn’t speak your language is even harder. This award goes to a player from overseas who has managed to adjust to living in America whilst still playing at the top of the game. One player has managed to do just that. Coming to Las Vegas unable to even play hockey, they have managed to learn both the game itself and how to speak English and even integrated themselves into the local culture and nightlife. It is therefore my pleasure to announce that this season the award will go to Juan Ceson.

This is the result of a scrambling mind trying to get the TPE completed so he can relax the rest of the week and just read articles and listen to podcasts.  So here goes.  First thing is Juan Cesan is reaching out for funding to pay off his creditors.  No worries Juan.  If you dont have enough to pay off your creditors, I’ve watched enough crime movies that I’m sure we can come up with something to prolong your demise to your creditors.  And if that doesn’t work, Atlantic City is the place to go.  Especially since you own the team there.
 
Next, The Jersey City Cows have got to succeed in the ProAM.  Juan Cesan’s first time as a GM, we owe it to him.  And even though JC asked for some expert advice, he still chose a team who’s names included a “J” and if not they had to change their name to be on the roster.  That in itself is a pure display of good sportsmanship.
 
Third, Shindigs deserves all the awards he can get having to deal with his team Captain rebutting earning TPE each week and has persuaded JC to actually contribute to the VHL world of articles for some extra TPE that doesnt include welfare.  Shindigs’ patience and always positive attitude reflects his leadership when dealing with the SCBBE (Sir Captain Best Bot Ever) of the Las Vegas Aces.  Its a never ending battle for the Champion GM, but would he hold that title without Juan Cesan?

Having finally won the cup that he worked so hard for, he is now able to sell it to raise funds to use to pay off his debts and go back home. He has also been working very hard on his hits and fighting in hopes that he might be able to scare off some of his creditors instead of having to pay. So far, this appears to be working and he has also started a new venture, his very own hockey team, the Jersey City Jerseys, which he hopes will bring in lots of money for him. Although he did have to bring in an expert to actually help run the team, he is confident he will be able to lead a second team to victory and spend all the winnings paying off his debts (or down the road in Atlantic City).

Now, living in Vegas, in the middle of the desert, there is one sport he can capitalise on. Juan has decided to offer swimming lessons to the people of Vegas who have nowhere else to learn because there is no water in deserts. The first step was to turn the newly renamed Juan Ceson Center into a swimming pool but unfortunately several people were unhappy with this and so he instead used one of the rinks at the practice facility. Juan’s teaching method is very much “sink or swim” which he uses by throwing people into the deep end. Currently, he has a 100% success rate of people learning to swim who survived his lessons. Also Jeffrey Pines asked for lessons but Juan said no because he doesn’t like him.

The VHL already has their own trivia nights but Juan has decided that he will host his own night that will be much better. There will be lots of questions about all sorts of things such as Juan Ceson, the Las Vegas Aces and, of course, casinos. It will be great fun and everyone is invited to enter for just $10 per person each week. Prizes will range from a signed photo of Juan Ceson to getting to video call Juan Ceson and actually speak to him. One day, Juan Ceson woke up and he knew something was wrong. He woke up just in time for practice but he knew there was a bigger problem and he could not go to practice until it had been resolved. His GM, Shindigs, was missing. He did not know where Shindigs was but he had not replied to any of the messages that Juan Ceson had sent him the night before and he had sent a lot of messages so Shindigs surely would have seen them and Shindigs also didn't reply to any of the calls he made or any of the voice messages he had left for Shindigs. It was very worrying because surely Shindigs was awake by now. He had to be because no one woke up as late as Juan Ceson. 
Juan Ceson decided he needed to get everyone he knew to try and help him find Shindigs because clearly something very very bad was happening. First, he asked his good friend Blake MacTavish but Blake just said that Shindigs was probably still sleeping which was definitely not true because everyone was awake so Blake was no help at all.
Next he received a message from Henri le Massif saying that Shindigs was in Sweden which is really stupid because why would Shindigs be in Sweden when he is supposed to be GMing the team in Las Vegas? It didn't make any sense and Juan also didnt know who Henri le Massif was so he just decided it was a prank message and ignored it.
Finally, he tried everyone else he knew but it seemed like nobody else cared about Shindigs as much as Juan Ceson did because nobody wanted to help him which was very mean because Shindigs could be dead in a ditch somewhere and they don't care. 
Juan Ceson by now had missed practice completely but he also hadn't found Shindigs so he drove to Shindigs' house and let himself in using the spare key and searched all round the house but Shindigs wasn't there and he wasn't hiding in the wardrobes like he knew Shindigs loved doing so he took Shindigs' meatballs with him for safe keeping until Shindigs was found (and also as a snack).
He drove everywhere round Las Vegas and went to every single casino that he was allowed to go to to see if Shindigs was in there but he couldn't find Shindigs anywhere and he even visited Ikea and checked all the wardrobes there but he still couldn't find Shindigs anywhere. 
At this point Juan Ceson knew something terrible must have happened to Shindigs as he was nowhere that Juan Ceson could think he could be possibly be. This meant that AGM Eagle was know GM so Juan bought him some meatballs from the Ikea store and also some balloons from a different store and went to tell him the great news about his promotion. Eagle was going to be very excited when he found out. One question remains though - what has happened to Shindigs and will he ever be found?
