    Ambrose Charizard of the Ottawa Lynx has done everything in his power to get a microphone in his hands this past week. Despite his attempts, a press release given to the beat writers for the team barred them from allowing him the privilege of airing any grievance he had. Before, during, and after games the camera attempt to avoid showing Charizard unless he is on the ice. With these rules in place, a video was posted to Charizard facebook earlier today where he finally was able to say what was on his mind.

    It's been far too long ladies and gentlemen. For some reason, the higher ups in this organization think that the words I want to say are not worth putting ink to paper for. They think that I am only looking out for myself and not trying to make this team look great in the public eye. They began damage control before any damage was done. Quite frankly, I'm hurt by it. I'm hurt because when I was drafted tenth overall by this team, I was under the impression that I was going to be the face of this franchise for the upcoming season. I assumed that I would get the red carpet treatment because I was the only superstar that this team had. I thought the would allow me to play my game on the ice and try to score as many points as I can to help us win games. Instead of those things happening, I have felt nothing but weight. Weight that is holding me back from being who I truly am....your future number one overall draft pick. I know it, you know, and they know it. I came to this team as someone that was too good for the VHLM. I've played and excelled at this sport my entire life only to be relegated to a minor league affiliate to "get my feet under me". No wonder the VHL has been experiencing some of their lowest ratings in the past ten years. No wonder the sponsorship deals have started to go more to the individual player rather than the league iteself. No wonder no one cares about the VHL. I came here hoping to change that. I wanted to give this place the savior it needed to resurrect this sport and bring a new wave of fans in. Yet here I am broadcasting live from facebook rather than from a microphone with the VHL logo on it. Shackles have been placed on me as the VHLM hopes to keep me tame while they control damage I haven't caused. The Lynx offense has been built to better suit other players in the line up rather than the guys that shines the brightest when he enters the arena. Still I rise though. With these shackles, with all these things holding me back, I climb up draft boards by the day because people know I am a can't miss prospect. I am the savior of the VHL, but the very thing I am trying to save is wanting to keep me silent. I am not the disease....I am the fucking remedy.

    1. Low self esteem for anyone that decides they want to get in my way.

     

    2. Nine picks were mistaken or they accidentally spelled my name wrong leading to them having to draft someone else. Saying there are nine guys better than me in that draft is laughable.

     

    3. The league is currently doing everything in it's power to try to hold me back. They are limiting my tv time and not allowing me the freedom to express myself. Whenever I can rid my career of their shackles, I will take off.

     

    4. I love to fight and I make love to fighters. Passionate. Raw.

     

    5. I carry a mirror in my back pocket every single day to remind myself that I am my own idol.

    You can do one MS and still be able to get max points on all three sites.

    Ambrose Charizard was recently drafted 10th overall by the reigning VHLM Champion Ottawa Lynx. In a recent interview with ESPN, Charizard spoke about the importance of being on a competitive team and the way he views the VHLM.

    I told everyone prior to the draft that I wanted to play for a winner. For some teams that raised a red flag and allowed me to be there at tenth overall. The player agency I have signed with has produced one number one overall draft pick in the past and I know that I am going to be the second one. Ottawa seems like a team ready to do what it takes to win and that's the type of culture that I want to be a part of. Being in a minor league system sucks, but I couldn't imagine doing it and being on a team that wasn't winning. This whole VHLM thing is a scam anyway. The VHL just wants to promote guys and try to get their name out there prior to allowing them to play in the big leagues. Season after season, we have seen prospects that were pro ready relegated to the VHLM. It's their business model and it has worked in the past. Well, I don't want to make money for the VHL. I want to make money for myself. There have been too many nice guys in my position over the years. You get the guys that come through here and pretend to be loud, just for the sake of being loud. What I want to do is shock the system. I want to destroy it from the inside out and expose every little knook and cranny of this place. Every skeleton in every closet gets exposed and the league ends up needing to use me as a crutch to keep it afloat. There was a VHL prior to Ambrose Charizard. If they don't do what I demand during my career, there won't be one after it.

    1. The VHLM is a developmental league that is lucky to have my talents. It seems they got the memo that I want to play for a successful team or I would willingly sit out until I was VHL eligible. Winning a championship recently may satisfy the fans, but all it does for me is shows that there should be no excuse that this team doesn't do it again. I'm not coming to Ottawa looking for a participation award. I want to win and I want to win often.

     

    2. You ever walk by a mirror and admire the way you looked, only to wonder if the people outside of that mirror see you the same way? I want people to see me the same way I see myself in that mirror.

     

    3. I want a team that is going to do whatever it takes to try to win a cup. Rebuilding makes sense sometimes, but I don't want to sit through one of those while I am on my rookie deal. I want a team that can build a roster quickly and get the most out of their lesser pieces.
