  15. DEFENSE Black Velvet - I like the name and he is one of the best, if not best dman on the list. It kind of seems like he can do a little bit of everything and that’s what you need from your blue line. Makes me think of velvet cake or something. I imagine this guys bodily physique is that of a roman god. Maxim Kovalchuk - A good old russian guy. I really like his name and it seems like he was fairly successful throughout his career. The fact I’m including one of my GM’s players in will hopefully get me some good points with him haha I think he was a forward for a bit bana said or i seen in the LR so this might be cheating but he still had a solid career in both positions. GOALIE Markus King - I think a lot picked Kallis and that’s great for them, but the King is the King. He doesn’t have too few wins compared, but his GAA is better, more SO’s, more saves and a better save percentage. I think if I’m making a dream team, you need the KING! He had a pretty good career too and did all this in a little less games.
  16. I have to say that theme week was a little difficult for me to write as I’m not the most engaged member on the site, but it still gave me a fun shot to look around the league, learn a few things and now I’m better off for it. The first thing I want to say is that the league has so much history. You could pick so many people and I don’t think you’d really be that wrong. I was looking at wingers and dmen and center and goalies and was like holy crap, it’s so hard to pick just a few because there’s so many of them. I’ve seen a few posts and talked in the locker room and even some of them agreed. With that being said, I’m sorry if my picks are not the best and hope that nobody thinks anything of it. Before I go any deeper, I used the portals Hall of Fame stats to pull up my team. I may not be picking the best player 100% based off stats and might have a couple reasons why I picked them! FORWARDS Franchise Cornerstone - I always hear a lot about him and looking at his stats, I know why. Very impressive career where he scored a lot of goals, points and managed to add so much hardware to his very full collection. Theo Axelsson - Every strong player like Cornerstone needs a tough boy to protect him. Theo threw around his body like it was the only thing he cared about. He’s #1 on the list for hits, he cranked 1,000 penalty minutes but what impresses me more to go along with all of this is that he also managed 700+ points in just over 500 games. PLUS, he has the most game winning goals ever. Look out for him. Pietro Maxmioff - This guy was good. His points and goals totals were awesome but what added him to my list was the fact that he was #1 for most shots on the portal timeline. I need a guy that’s wanting to shoot the puck tons and adding him to the other 2 is going to be huge.
  17. We are 49 games through the season and my team is doing a pretty good job. We’re sitting in 2nd place right now and our record is pretty solid. Overall, I’m very happy with how the team has been playing and with how my role is, it’s expected. I’m not the biggest, hardest worker on the team, but I am doing my best to make sure I fit the role that is required. My name is Rocket and while I like to go fast, I am settling in to the fact that I will most likely be a depth piece. This season, I have 11 points and while that isn’t amazing, I’m feeling okay about it. Again, I’m a depth player so while I think it’s lower than I want to be, I can’t be too hard on myself because I am still a rookie who is doing their best to develop for the team. Lots has been changing. We just got a new player from a trade so I am curious to see how that works out for us. I’m really excited to see how the remainder of the season goes. Moving forward, I hope I can start to chip in a little bit more and really help my team chase a strong playoff finish.
  18. 1. Thoughts on trading for Jim Bob? I wish his the best of luck on his new Adventures. 2. Thoughts on the Bears season so far? We are playing very well hope we can continue to do so. 3. What team has surprised you so far? They all have everyone playing hard out there. 4. Thanksgiving weekend for Canadians. What are you excited to eat this weekend if you're family is still doing that? Nope 5. What are you thankful for in life? Name some shit. Spread the joy. POSITIVE VIBES. The new nhl 21 6. Predict your finals stats for your player. Goals, Assists and Points. GO! For hogan, also include SHOTS BLOCKED LOLS no idea lol .
  19. 1. It’s been a crazy few days with the vhl recruitment drive, how do you feel about all the new additions to the team? I think it’s great all will fit in . 2. How much TPE do you plan to earn each week? Give me a quick breakdown. Just the Usual press conference practice welfare or article 3. Miami sits 11 points back of 8th place with half a season to go. Can they make up ground and push for that 8th spot? I’m sure we can finish strong . 4. Do you think Miami should make any moves before the trade deadline? Not sure Get to know ya questions: 5. We have a ton of new faces and I love to know where everyone’s allegiances lie when it comes to the NHL. Who is your favourite hockey team? Canucks 6. Piggy backing off the last question which team or teams in the NHL do you despise? Boston
  20. 7. What are your predictions for your player (goals, assists, points etc)? I’d say 10,12 22 points 8. Predict the two finalist teams and the cup winner for next season! Could be anyone there all good. 9. What player surprises everyone next season in the VHL? Not sure 10. What team is going to place last in the VHL next season? Don’t know all the teams 11. What are your thoughts on the Bears adding Ylonen? Where do you see him fitting in? He will make a great fit I think good guy team player 12. Thoughts on Dallas Jones being added to the team? He will fit in just nice
  21. Rocket is not only a hockey player in the VHL but was also a Rocket enthusiast. No not an enthusiast of himself of course but of ACTUAL Rockets. Why did he become so fascinated with such a random subject? What fascinated Rocket to become such a fan of Rockets? Why is it so damn fun to say Rocket so many times in one sentence? Well, lets start at the beginning shall we... The Beginning... I wasn't joking...This is the beginning of why Rocket loves Rockets and it starts with his parents. Rockets dad himself had quite the rocket on him or at least that is what his mom said. So there you go its all genetics....HA almost had you there. It actually starts when Rocket was just a wee little lad still in diapers playing with everything in the house besides his actual toys. One day however that changed when his great uncle Lester brought Rocket a toy Rocket during a visit. This was no ordinary rocket either it lit up like a damn Christmas tree it made sounds that sounded like they came straight out of an airfield. This toy caught Rockets attention so bad it was basically mind control for the kid. This is the only toy he would play with from here on out. He eventually grew out of those diapers mind you at a later age than normal BUT still he grew out of them and when he did guess what? He still loved that rocket. He had beaten and battered this toy to the point the lights didn't resemble a Christmas tree anymore and it sounded less like an airfield and more like the distant fart of your grandfather sitting across the room. It didnt matter though Rocket loved his rocket. Would he ever grow out of this thing? The answer is.... No, he wouldn't. Even when rocket became a teenager and started playing hockey he held on to that toy. One day while walking home from hockey practice Rocket was surrounded by a group of older teenage kids who knew about Rockets obsession and they were tired of it. The all pinned Rocket to the ground and stripped away his backpack. The "leader" of the group took out that toy rocket and smashed it as hard as he could. The toy blew up in to many pieces and then he grabbed Rockets stick to smash the remaining pieces even more. They let Rocket go and ran away leaving him traumatized on the ground looking over at his childhood toy broken into what seemed like a million pieces but lets be realistic it was maybe 15 pieces. Rocket didn't know what to do with himself...A piece of him had been ripped away and sent into the oblivion. Where does he go from here? Become the rocket Rocket had no choice than to embrace the spirit of his toy rocket and become the rocket himself. You see, his name actually isn't Rocket it's actually Theodore Salvador the 3rd but that is no more as he now refers to himself as Rocket. He studied rockets in school, he embraced the rocket mentality in everything that he did and when I say rocket mentality I mean go fast and go boom. When working his way through the juniors on the way to the VHL Rocket was known for his blazing speed but at the end of it all was a massive BOOM every time he missed a check and slammed into the boards. I mean he hit a few players too but he always seems to awkwardly fall and somehow land on his head. While being a Rocket was all that Theodore Salvador the 3rd knew he also spent a lot of time making REAL rockets of his own. What goes up must come down Rocket spent a lot of time making rockets of his own. He always had help from his fellow rocket enthusiast that were a part of the North American Rocket Enthusiast Association also known as NAREA. He learnt how to create home made rockets including the fuel needed to be able to actually launch them. It took Rocket 13.5 months to build his first rocket but he was ready to finally launch it. He gathered around the field near his school with a couple of his NAREA buddies who had assisted him in making this rocket. After all of the preparations were made it was time to launch this bad boy. After the countdown from ten Rocket launched his rocket. Surprisingly to everyone there the rocket actually took off. It soared so high in fact that it disappeared from sight. Everyone stood around wondering if they should leave since Rocket literally launched his damn rocket into space but as they were about the leave they heard a distant explosion and when they looked up they could see a small cloud of smoke miles high in the sky. Rocket was so excited about the outcome he started jumping and cheering and his NAREA buddies soon joined in with him. Rocket took a step back from the group and as he was about to open his mouth to talk that's when it all went dark. The aftermath Rocket woke up in a hospital six months later. He had no recollection of who he was, where he was or what had happened to him. He had been struck by a piece of fallen debris from the rocket that had exploded in the sky many months ago. He spent the next few months learning about his life all over again. Who he was, who is family was and where he was from. While learning about life all over again his parents left out the part about Rockets. They feared that something like this would happen again so instead they aimed his passion towards hockey and that is how Rocket started on the path of actually becoming a good hockey player. Even though the past was left behind him his parents still called him "Rocket" as his nickname just to remember the kid he once was but when he asked about it they said it was because he was as fast as a rocket when he was on the ice. He loved the idea of being a rocket so much that one day he saw a magazine at the doctors office that had a rocket on the cover. He picked it up and opened it to the article about rockets....
