INDEX @VHL GM You guys know the drill, lines on the portal please. We will start the wildcard round tomorrow so you've got ~24 hours for lines. Same as always as well, live sims can be found at the below link. I cannot promise you a specific time for these and, likelywise, I can't promise you they will be very entertaining; in fact I can almost guarantee that they won't be. However in an effort to be more transparent with our simming you will all be able to watch me click buttons in all it's glory. I will do my best to put a message in here and on discord whenever I go live but may forget some days. Good luck to everyone!

There were a few reasons but the main one was that it made transitioning between GM's incredibly convoluted which, because of having so many teams now, happens pretty frequently. Every time a GM changes we'd need to be getting their player off whatever team they were on and onto the team that they now GM which wasn't generally the cleanest process. There's nothing stopping them from drafting or trading for their own players.

These new rules had nothing to do with this season, they are moving forward.

@Spartan ran the numbers quite a bit to end up with the formula decided on, he also retroactively applied it back several seasons to see what would happen. What we found is that defensemen are definitely still strong, and often the same defensemen are still strong, but the "good player on a bad team" mentality is mitigated a bit, especially thanks to +/-. Goalies are also a lot less based on just facing a million shots regardless of how well they actually do and forwards can actually hold their own a bit in the top spots. It's possible we'll gather more data and tweak the values more after a few seasons but I think on the whole this should balance out at least a bit better than it did before. And yes, most people didn't notice, probably because it was in the rules post and they already figured they knew the rules. A few other things were added in there as well, though nothing overly substantial.
