I’m slightly confused. You said a league between the two current ones but then said waiver league before the M, which is it? Also the farm system for the VHL wouldn’t really be functional anymore. Rapid expansion has caused there to be so many teams and a farm system would mean needing a farm team for every single one of those players. Even if we assume the usual league setup of 11 players (6-4-1, two lines plus a goalie) that would mean needing to have 176 players in the farm system; we wouldn’t come close to having that. The other issue with a lot of this is that it’s based on real life which is easy to base stuff on but not functional for us. The Junior hockey can be a draft only system because they don’t just have people showing up and needing somewhere to go, we do. The AHL can exist and teams can dump players who aren’t ready yet there because there is no limit on how long people can play but there is here. Imagine spending 6 seasons between juniors and a farm system, finally making it to the VHL, and then being retired after two seasons. That’s the kind of situation you’re describing. I like that you’re thinking outside the box, but we do have a slightly more constrained box than that.

Honestly this mindset everyone has that they need to earn every last drop of TPE every single week and do 5 jobs for the site on the side doesn’t help. Blue burnout is a whole other thing because we have a lot to deal with but for the average member situation you describe... just take welfare. Or if you did your PT and are just missing some minor stuff, that’s okay. No one is going to fault you if you end up at 1300 TPE instead of 1400. Take care of yourself and use the systems we have in place to make life easier and the league for fun, that’s why we have them.

Hey look I was right! “Something something raise the cap something something” The cap will be looked at as it is every season though. As you well know we don’t just raise it because you want it higher. If the issue is the VHL being too full how does making the M bigger solve that? Though with your other 350 based suggestion it would become super clogged so I guess this would be necessary but I still don’t like it and I don’t think 2 teams would be nearly enough with that many extra players staying down. The M is super cyclical, go too high with team numbers and you risk it never being remotely full. You remember what what’s like as well as I do. On the whole this is being discussed though, we’re up to page 8 in the BOG about it last I checked and we’ve got something pretty major in the works to help solve the issue.

Not worth a full on announcement for something this small but just of note: after the recent hirings for the position of @Moderator the BOG has decided to increase mod pay. With the current workload being what it is the 2/week that has been agreed upon was simply not reasonable. Henceforth mod pay will be 6 TPE/week.

Obviously I wish I could have helped you get that second cup but the sim gods decided to hate us. No matter what you did an excellent job with the league’s first expansion team in 30 seasons or whatever it was at the time and you made Moscow a force in Europe while also leaving your successor some pieces to work with. It was definitely not great. This was on the downswing that led to the VHL dark ages.

I’ve known this was coming for months so you’d think I would have prepared something better but no, here we are and I don’t know what to say. I hired you when it became apparent that Quik’s vacation was going to be, shall we say, longer than anticipated; not because you reminded me of myself, that would be incredibly mean to say, but because you seemed better than myself. You rose through the ranks of the league at an incredible pace and we’re honestly pretty much destined for the blue job so it seemed like the time was right. Do wish it would have been one day sooner or one day later to avoid all the SBA drama on your first day but I digress. I like to joke that I’m given no credit for reviving a dying league but if I’m being honest most of the credit is yours to take. No amount of effort I put in could have brought in the amount of members you did and while your constant want of expansion annoyed me to no end I can’t deny you were effective as hell at most things you sought to do in the league. Ultimately you have to do what’s best for you. I’ve said it privately and I’ll say it now: no matter how much I appreciated the help your enjoyment of the league means more. We’ll survive so better that you can enjoy yourself. As @flyersfan1406 once said, “the best way to make someone inactive is to make the blue.” So I’m glad you recognized what was happening and stepped away before it did. We may not have always agreed, in fact most times we didn’t, but I did enjoy having you on the team and you will be missed. P.S you are forever cemented as OBC now, no getting around it.

Isn't he leading Warsaw in points these playoffs? Now to see if anyone can surpass the Moscow players at the top despite us not making the finals. Anyway, good series Warsaw; we kept it interesting if nothing else. Simon just wasn't our friend today and it cost us. I fear I'm doomed to win Victory Cups but never make the finals yet again.
