The end of S96 regular season is right around the corner. We found time to speak with VHL Calgary Wranglers player Miner vHLer @Rhynex Entertainment, who has had a strong season. Reporter: Hello Miner! Nice to see you again! You've had a rough week in more than one way! Your production went down and you more than doubled your penalty minutes. What happened? Mv: Hello. Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. We are just prepping up for playoff hockey, increasing the physicality. I guess teams are doing the same and working us harder while tightening up the defence? Reporter: GM @leandrofg brought in a superstar defenseman in Bobby Bob @Baby Boomer, how has the team faired with the change? Mv: We're playing good hockey, but I know we have another gear. Bobby Bob is a fantastic defenseman and our vet. A great leader and producer. We're a better team with Bobby Bob, for sure. Reporter: How do you plan to rise to the occasion for the playoffs? Mv: I will be an on ice and off ice leader. Playoffs is when I shine the brightest. I also need to improve other parts of my game. Overall, let's make it a special run. Reporter: Thank you! Good luck for the rest of the season and the upcoming playoffs! [Word count 216]

The Lore Behind Pay to Win
Rhynex Entertainment replied to Rhynex Entertainment's topic in Media Spots
[Claim for week ending 2024-11-17] -
The Lore Behind Pay to Win For our Season 96 Theme Week, we have the topic "Lore". Let's discuss about the Lore behind "Pay To Win". We always hear about the concept of F2P and P2W (Free To Play and Pay To Win). The same could also be said to exist for the VHL. But, that cannot be true right? How could there be a Pay To Win feature for the VHL? Well, there are actually two features that could potentially be equivalent to Pay To Win for the VHL. We simply know of these two features as "the VHL Donations" and "the VHL Player Store", the latter being a legal feature of the game within the game. First off, what does it mean to be Pay To Win? Pay To Win is a term that is typically used to describe people who pay or use money to build a stronger and better player in a game, in order to gain an additional advantage in said game. People are described to be Pay To Win, because they are spending to obtain an advantage over other people who are Free To Play, whom have not spent anything to enhance their player. This concept could easily be traced to our game of the VHL. We will discuss about the Lore behind Pay To Win in the VHL, featuring the use of Donations and the Player Store. Similar to how MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games), mobile games, etc where people send money to "buy" features in the games, the VHL Donations feature holds the same concept. The VHL Donations is a method we use to help maintain the VHL, just like how those MMORPGs and mobile games "sell" features in game to help make money and maintain their games. People gain additional benefits from spending real life currency to help the game evolve or simply stay alive. In our VHL, we have the VHL Donations. The VHL accepts "donations" and offers rewards for every $5 increments, up to $15. This is similar to how games accepts "purchases" and offers rewards for each feature/item/cosmetics/etc sold at each specific and specified price. With the purchasing rewards, in the VHL, people who "donated" could (and would) redeem the bonuses to enhance their respective players. These reward bonuses would give their players a slight advantage (which adds up when donations are made regularly for each season). We currently have the following "reward options" to help VHL Donations "Pay To Win"-ers receive their slight edge over the competition with Free To Play-ers: Free Week (12 TPE Capped) $1M Player Store Cash 5 TPE Uncapped Doubles Week (6 TPE uncapped from a PT being done) Now don't take it the wrong way! Donations are great, we need donators to donate to keep the VHL going and help the VHL grow, I am a sinner too in that concept as I am also a donator, just not a heavy donator. Only a casual one at that. Next we have the second feature in the VHL that could (potentially) be said to follow the same concept to Pay To Win. And the Lore behind this Pay To Win feature is actually quite interesting, more about it later. The Player Store is the second Pay To Win feature held in the VHL. And this is a feature any player could use, and may forget to use, thus is a very legal and borderline feature to Pay To Win. As a player, you are literally "paying to win" with the Player Store feature. Each player in the VHL will "earn" career contract salaries. And, VHL Donations donators could also obtain a bonus reward of $1M in contract salaries each season (of donations). With the "earned" player salaries, you can spend the salaries at the Player Store to legally enhance your player. This is a feature that some players would simply forget about and lose out on the benefits. There are many benefits featured in the Player Store to help people gain an edge over their player's competition. New people and players to the VHL even gets to purchase a few additional unique bonuses from the Player Store to help their players get an edge on the competition. The most specific and can't miss "purchases" in the Player Store are "The First Generation" and "First Gen Doubles". For new players to the VHL, these two cheap Player Store purchases are a Must Buy. "The First Generation" grants 5 TPE to first generation players (or returning members players who haven't created a player in the past 3 seasons), and this 5 bonus TPE only costs a cheap $500,000 in salary. This is One-Third of the smallest rookie contract salary! "The First Gen Doubles" lets first generation players (or returning members players who haven't created a player in the past 3 seasons) earn 6 Uncapped TPE with a Point Task (Not Welfare or Affiliate PT), and this costs a measly $1,000,000 in contract salary. A first generation, new VHL member and player could game a nice 11 additional TPE for a new rookie contract salary ($1,500,000)! Please note that a normal PT Doubles Week (6 Upcapped TPE for submission of a point task for the week) costs $2,000,000 contract salary. Everyone can purchase this at the VHL Player Store. There are many, many attractive offers at the VHL Player Store which you could purchase to help enhance your player. These include the infamous "depreciation helpers" in the form of "The 'Jaromir Jagr' ", "Still Kicking", and "Old But Not Forgotten". Each are very expensive though, but very useful. And then there is my favourite and highly recommended, "Uncapped TPE Packages". "The Upcapped TPE Packages are extremely useful at a relatively fair cost: Adds TPE distributed evenly across 5 VHL.com submissions for the season. Must be used in the season it was purchased. (No carry-over). 1 TPE x 5 / $2,000,000 2 TPE x 5 / $3,500,000 4 TPE x 5 / $6,000,000 "The Uncapped TPE Packages" are a very good use of earned contract salaries throughout your player's career. And they are very easy to accommodate since VHL.com submissions are relatively short and easy to complete. But not to worry if you forget to make these legal purchases from the Player Store. Your player could still be wonderful and good without them. [word count 1053] [claim for week ending 2024-11-10]

We are at the trade deadline of S96. We found time to speak with VHL Calgary Wranglers player Miner vHLer @Rhynex Entertainment, who has just had his best week in the VHL thus far. Reporter: Hello Miner! Nice to see you again! You've been having a fantastic season so far, and seems to be just getting better and better, how do you plan to keep the production going? Mv: Hello. It feels good playing out there! The team is playing well, but I know we have another gear out there. We haven't played our best yet! Just got to continue playing our game and working hard, production will come with a hard working, disciplined game. Reporter: You're at the trade deadline, what do you think GM @leandrofg will do? Mv: Hard to say, he's a mastermind and trump card in himself. But like the saying goes, sometime doing nothing is also good. Why change anything when things are going well? But then, adding to something beautiful could make it shine ever more, or it could also be counterproductive. I don't even the tough decisions of being a GM. Reporter: Your player's build is finally starting to take shape, what do you plan to work on next? Mv: I need to be more physical and better overall. Everything needs to be worked on. Reporter: Thank you! Good luck for the rest of the season! [Word count 233]

We are midway through S96. We found time to speak with VHL Calgary Wranglers player Miner vHLer @Rhynex Entertainment, who is having new career highs by the day. Reporter: Hello Miner! Nice to see you again! Congratulations on new career high in goals and points! You've had a wonderful week of hockey, going point per game, what are your plans to further improve your game play? Mv: Hello. Thank you! It is good to be performing and helping the team win. I have lots to improve upon in my game still. I have yet to have produced better than point per game, and I have yet to clean up my game on the ice after increasing my hitting and physical play. I'll have to work on both styles simultaneously and learn to not let multitasking detriment my game. Reporter: You've already broken your goal and points totals with half a season to go, what are your expectations for the remainder of the season? What do you see your final season production to be like? Mv: Helping the team win is the first and foremost most important thing, individual statistics comes second, always. However, it would be nice to be over a point per game, one hundred hits, and a career high in shot blocks, while not being detrimental to winning. Unlikely that I would be able to achieve that, but it's a wishful goal. Reporter: What is the first thing you need to do to help you achieve your goal? Mv: Keep playing my game and improving my skating. Better skating makes better everything. Reporter: Thank you! Good luck for the rest of the season! [Word count 276]

We are one-third of the season completed, so far in S96. We found time to speak with VHL Calgary Wranglers player Miner vHLer @Rhynex Entertainment, who is having a breakout season playing on a lesser role. Reporter: Hello Miner! Nice to see you again! You are a third into season 96, and you have already surpassed last season S95's goal total, and closing in on a career high in points! What are your thoughts on your season so far? Mv: Hello. It has been a good season so far, although it had been a tougher week, slowing down a bit. I need to pick up the pace and put more effort next week. Reporter: You have smashed your career high in hits by 7 times, hitting 35 times already in just 24 games, how are you dealing with this change in physical gameplay? Mv: I've been doing my best to add to my overall game. Hitting is a big aspect of what I want my game to be, but I need to learn how to be more discipline in finishing my checks. Got to lower the number of penalties, while increasing my physical presence. Reporter: You've been taking a lot of shots this season, but not finding the back of the net. What are you doing to help improve your shot percentage? Mv: I need to stop hesitating and simply shoot instinctively. Improving my shooting will help as well. I need to add in some reps. Reporter: Thank you! Keep up the good work! [Word count 255]

S96 has begun, we found time to speak with VHL Calgary Wranglers player Miner vHLer @Rhynex Entertainment, who had a fantastic start to the new season. Reporter: Hello Miner! Nice to see you again! You look like a completely different player out there to begin Season 96! What did you eat over the off season? Mv: Hello. It has been a good start to the season! I have to credit Adi Dassler @BOOM and Keegan Gamble @Keegan Gamble, they have been flying out there, putting those pucks in the net. Being on the second line where the opposing defence is weaker also helps. Reporter: You are a week into the season and you have nearly doubled your career total in hits from your previous two seasons, what changed? What are you doing differently out there? Mv: Just skating and committing to hits. Playing a more physical game, but I really need to be much more disciplined out there. I've gotten so many minor penalties already, it's crazy out there when you try to play more aggressively. Those refs really are blind sometimes. Reporter: What are your expectations and goals for this season? Mv: I want to have a great season. I want to score more goals, be more of a physical presence and be much harder to play against. But I need to keep my game clean. Reporter: Thank you! Keep up the good work! [Word count 236]
