  2. Grigorenko following his last regular season game in Quebec City. QUEBEC CITY, Quebec – Yuri Grigorenko’s story is just about over. Grigorenko played his last regular season game a few nights ago, a three to two loss to the eliminated Cologne Express. He managed to add an assist in his final game, bring his total up to thirty four on the season. His last home game of the season came a few days earlier, where he played in front of the Quebec City faithful for the last time during the regular season. He opened the scoring, netting his thirty-fifth goal of the season, and added a helper on the fifth Meute goal. After the final buzzer, Grigorenko took the time to take a few laps around the ice, saluting and thanking the fans of the team that he had spent the most time with. Grigorenko signed a two year deal during the S33 offseason, and elected to re-up his contract when it expired. When his career first started, most expected the young Russian talent to dominate the score sheet once he hit the VHL ice. The signs looked even more positive after he scored 108 times and added 75 helpers in his junior season. After a disappointing rookie season which saw him score 14 times and add seven assists, Grigorenko picked up the pace and had himself a respectable career. In a total of 576 games played, the big right winger totaled 301 goals, 345 assists for 646 points, while finishing an incredible +372. He became an indcredible clutch performer towards his last couple of seasons, scoring 38 game winning goals over his last three seasons. Following the game in Quebec City, Grigorenko had this to say: “I’m thankful for all that the fans here have given me. I was extremely proud to help win a Cup here in Quebec City. This was definitely home to me. I would also like to thank the proud and amazing fans in Calgary and Helsinki as well. I wouldn’t be where I am today without all the support everyone has given me over my career. But it isn’t over yet. I still have some left, and ready to give it all in hopes of another cup. We can win this one.” – Yuri Grigorenko

  6. I'm not even trying with the story anymore. Just beat Sin, and need to venture inside to defeat Yu Yevon. I really remember Sin being extremely hard. @Sandro, Smoke ain't even the best power. Neon has been some crazy crazy shit.
  7. When your grandson is King Douchebag of Cuntville County, not at all. The show really makes him so much worse too. I was never a fan of his reading the books, but the show intensified that by quite a large margin.
  8. That was intense god damn shit. Pulled it off just as I had imagined it in the books. This is going to be an amazing season.
  9. I never had the international version of the game, so going up against those Dark Aeons really has me kinda worried. That's why I'm mainly trying to get the other Aeons and Celestial Weapons now... When do they turn to the Dark Aeons?
  10. Just got to the fight with Sin. Now time to start collecting some of the extra Aeon's and the Celestial Weapons. Hurrah for 200 lightning jumps and 0.00.0 chocobo races!

  13. QUEBEC CITY, Quebec– With the career of Yuri Grigorenko slowly coming to an end, Matthew Boragina has been very active looking for the next big star looking to make it big in the hockey world. Despite not being around a long time, Boragina has managed to build up a reputation as a solid agent after representing himself during his first foray into the VHL, and now most recently, Grigorenko. He has won four Continental Cups during his time (2 as a player, 2 as an agent) as well as multiple awards as a player. With Grigorenko moving on from the VHL at the end of the season, who is the next player up in the stable? Terrance Trafford – C, CAN Trafford might not be the biggest guy on the ice, but sure tries to play like he is. The Toronto native stands at just 5’11 and 190 pounds, but is able to use that to his advantage. He has world class speed which helps him draw a lot of hooking and holding penalties as defenders have difficulty beating him to the puck. He throws a ton of hits which often catch opposing players unawares from a smaller guy. Trafford has a high hockey I.Q. and is able to dish the puck off extremely well. The one knock on his game is the fact that he doesn’t shoot enough, resulting in lower than should be goal totals. If he is able to fine tune that aspect, he should have no problem making a huge difference for a VHL squad. Mikkel Boomgaarden – D, USA Boomgaarden is a hulking defensemen who has a surprisingly good offensive game. Boomgaarden takes full advantage of his massive 6’5 and 222 pound frame, using it to get in front of shots as well as punishing opposing forwards. While he has decent vision and is more than capable of moving the puck from his own zone, the biggest asset that Boomgaarden brings via his offensive game is his booming slapshot. Already being compared to the ones taken by NHL defensemen Shea Weber, Boomgaarden’s slapshot has terrorized goaltenders ever since the American started taking them. Normally speed and movement are sacrificed for bigger players, but Boomgaarden has made it one his focal points at every practice and training session. Boragina is expected to make an announcement on Monday, the same day as the VHL trade deadline and when Yuri Grigorenko is expected to announce his retirement. Both players look to have promising upside, and should have extensive and successful hockey careers.
  14. Bought South Park: it was fantastic and I'm definitely going through a second time to pick up the extras. Went as a Theif my first playthrough, and decided I couldn't resist the temptations of the High Jew Elf a second. Also got the HD Re-master of FFX | X-2. So far, made it Luca right before the Blitz tournament. the redone tracks are amazing.
  15. http://sports.nationalpost.com/2014/03/12/terry-traffords-death-a-grim-reminder-for-former-prospect-stefan-legein/ Extremely interesting article from the point-of-view of a player that went through nearly the same thing.
  16. Was going to say that. CHL players are carted around for four years (usually) and then cast out into the real world without any sort of backup plan.
  17. Personally, I would like to see the CHL implement a mandatory mental check-up for these kids. They are taken away from their families at 16 years old, and if nothing comes of it, dumped out only four years later when they are barely men. You have just four years to prove yourself, and when you don't it's extremely tough on a person. Hopefully the CHL learns from such a horrible situation.
  18. It really is a sad story. Terry still had so much... RIP buddy. It's over now...
  19. Hey guys, not sure how many of you heard of it, but since March 3rd, Terry Trafford of the OHL's Saginaw Spirit has been missing. I don't know all the details, but reports suggest he was suspended from the team prior to his disappearance. http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/2014/03/10/terry_trafford_missing_ohl_player_may_not_have_come_back_to_canada_police.html I know we are a small community but the more people know the better. If you know anything please contact Saginaw or Toronto police. Trafford grew up like 3 streets away from me and was one of my brothers best friends when he was younger. Obviously they grew apart as Terry has been in Michigan the last four years of his life, but it still is a horrible situation. Thank you.

  21. GRIGORENKO PREPARES FOR FINAL SEASON; CALLS OUT OSBORNE? QUEBEC CITY, Quebec – They say that all good things must come to an end. He was drafted 2nd overall in the Season 30 VHL Entry Draft, and was poised to be an elite forward for many seasons to come in the VHL. He scored 108 goals and added 75 assists during his first season in North America, playing for the Syracuse Wolfpack in 72 games. Since being drafted, he has career numbers of 265 goals and 311 assists totaling 576 points in 504 games played. He is a two time Continental Cup champion and collected a bronze medal at the S34 World Cup of Hockey. He played in the inaugural VHL Super Cup, as he helped lead the McCreath Eaters to the finals, and was a voted All-Star player. It was a good career indeed. It isn’t over yet, and that is something that Yuri Grigorenko was quick to point out to reporters shortly after cleaning out the locker room thanks to the early playoff exit that the Toronto Legion handed the Quebec City Meute during the North American conference final. Despite the loss of goaltender Skyler Rift, the void has been filled with former Helsinki Titans goalie Tuomas Tukio. The addition of Tukio allows the Meute another season of serious contention for the Continental Cup. Grigorenko admitted to having slacked off over the past few seasons in his training methods, but promises he won’t do so during his final season. He noted that he would have an official press conference concerning his retirement around the VHL Trade Deadline. The most interesting note of the day came when a reporter decided to ask Grigorenko about a different former Titan. Ethan Osborne, selected first overall ahead of Grigorenko during the S30 draft, was traded to the Seattle Bears. Apparently, that fact hasn’t sat well with Grigorenko since that fateful draft day. ‘I hope we get to face them (Seattle) come playoff time. He came out on top during the draft when he got taken first. I have two cup rings, he only has one. If we can beat him out and win the Cup, then people will know who the better player is.’ – Yuri Grigorenko
