Welfare / Pension (December 18 - December 24)
Boragina replied to Boragina's topic in Welfare & Pension
@Kyle Same thing as Green last week, claim your pay, just wanted to get the thread up for everyone else! Claim 4. -
James Platts Welfare Program Any member may claim 2 TPE/week on weeks no point task is done, unless they are on a Pension Plan. VHL Pension Plan I – Members who have created one 400+ TPE player claim 3 TPE/week on weeks no point task is done. VHL Pension Plan II - Members who have created two or more 400+ TPE player claim 4 TPE/week on weeks no point task is done. Pension Eligibility Sheet There are still some unassigned players, feel free to post the missing username - player combinations in this thread, then I will update this. If this is your first player, do not worry if you are not on the list. You will be eligible for two points. Once you reach 400 TPE with your current player you are allowed to take a bigger pension plan. So instead of only taking in account previous players it also counts for your current one. Example: Green has had Remy LeBeau (TPE: 1301) in the past. Thomas O'Malley is now past 400 TPE, he is eligible for a VHL Pension Plan II. Gorlab has had no previous players. Jody 3 Moons is now past 400 TPE, he is eligible for a VHL Pension Plan I. NOTE: Reminder that if you have two players, welfare/pension can only be claimed on ONE player per member each week.

ROOKIE PROFILE: ELIAS SOBECK Position: C Height: 6’1 Weight: 199 Born in: Carson City, Nevada Born in Carson City, Nevada, Elias Sobeck immediately took to the game of hockey. Instead of following in his parents footsteps and continuing on in the scientific field, Sobeck elected to devour hours and hours of hockey footage and chose to study the game instead. Sobeck ended up being a star standout at Carson City High, and had dreams of one day playing in the NHL. After being passed up in the draft twice despite his crazy statline in high school, Sobeck was determined to make a career in hockey and declared himself available for the VHL Draft and signed a one year minor league deal with the Oslo Storm of the VHLM to show off his skillset to the general managers of the league. Pros: Scoring: Sobeck’s goal scoring ability was his biggest strength throughout his career so far. He has a knack for finding the open areas and has an excellent release and should be able to transfer this to the professional game. This may end up changing as he develops into a pro player, as he will have many increased responsibilities as a centreman. Playmaking: While he may not have inherited his parents passion for science, he was given a more than average IQ which he has definitely used to his advantage. It is extremely evident in his current game, Notching nearly 3 assists for every goal he’s scored so far. Sobeck see’s the ice extremely well and is generally able to place passes perfectly or in space where his teammates are moving to. Expect this to become even more prevalent in his game as he continues to grow. Skating: With the way that the game is changing, skating ability has become such a hot point on whether or not a player will be effective as a pro. Sobeck noticed this early, and made it a priority to work on early on in his hockey playing career. He is able to transition and turn quite effectively and has an explosive start to his stride that should allow him to beat his opponent to loose pucks and seperate him from defenders while handling the puck. Cons: Faceoffs: One his glaring weakness’, especially seeing as how he players centre, is Sobecks faceoff ability. Instead of always trying to win the draw, Sobeck would often just read his opponent and react to where he was going to try to win the draw. It’s not that he doesn’t try on faceoffs, its just that he tried to use his other skills against more experienced faceoff takers. Checking: Despite having a decently sized frame, Sobeck was never one to really engage in the physical play of hockey outside of what he needed to do. Instead of going for big hits along the boards or in the middle of the ice, Sobeck instead elected to play defense using a combination of stick lifts and poke checks. While maybe useful in the latter stages of his career, it doesn’t appear to be a focal point for Sobeck at this current juncture. Fighting: This one goes hand in hand with his lack of checking ability but fighting is definitely not a major part of Sobecks game and never will be. He’s never had to fight his own battles, usually due to a lack of hitting or usually having someone else fight for him. Don’t ever expect him to try and ever work on this.

IF Steezy can do it, ima do it too. +4 -
I put over 1000 hours into D1 and beat all four the Raids multiple times. And I kept wanting to go back and play. every week. A semi-active friends list helped for sure, but I was cool just logging and going solo myself. I've found the D2 raid to be worst one in my opinion (maybe tied with Crota's End) and I have no want/need to run any of the end game content including nightfalls. they've introduced a system which allows for players to just walk around the maps, completing public events and so on and be able to get Max Power. If they at least made it so that the Raid Armor/Weapons had specific perk sets that made them stand out or at least sought after, then I would be able to truly understand pushing towards the casual player while still rewarding the Hardcore player like myself from D1. Instead, its mainly cosmetic garbage which makes me blieve that theres no point in trying to grind. At all.

Just beat most of the Frozen Wilds DLC for Horizon: Zero Dawn. I think it was pretty good for the short amount of story given, and it all played out like a mini version of the main game. I'm very sad my quest in the game will end after about 60 hours (70 max, if i feel like finding every single small collectable) but this is has been one of the most enjoyable games I've played in quite some time. Guerrilla really deserves a pat on the back for what they made with HZD. Destiny 2 as well, but idk. Something just feels off. Like they've taken a step back from where 1 ended. No real reason to come back and keep grinding as of right now... I've completed the raid only twice and have no urge to run it again. I was extremely hyped for the game, but it turns out that everyone is going to have to wait for a few DLC's to be released before they go about and fix things to get it even remotely close to how fun (that I found it anyways) the first one was.
