After Eldon Escobar’s season with the Houston bulls ended Escobar was selected 2nd overall in the Junior showcase tournament by team clue which was a huge honour for him to be seen as one of the best players available and it was a special time it was the first time he constantly played on the first line in a VHL tournament and in the first five games he had 8 points he also had 6 fights for whatever reason every team went out for blood and even tho Eldon was supposed to be a top point scorer he wasn’t going to sit back and not get into the action for team clue and they had a few setbacks during the tournament but they finished hot and continue to impress as there in the playoffs now Eldon finished just under a two points per game average with 39 points in 20 games played and was a first star in there first official playoff game he was brought to team clue to be there main center man and to play in all aspects and areas of the game and he hopes to continue to help team clue to win the tournament then hopefully he gets picked to represent Canada in the WJC he said that would be a huge honour and then the draft and he can’t wait to see where he ends up.

1 I fought twice in a single game Escobar was gooning it up big time 2 wait and see I put up 8 points in 5 games and idk how many pims 3 I think it way to early to tell who the mvp is yet 4 If I had a Doug glatt build but not Escobar his hands are made for scoring goals 5 north of 250 for sure 6 pretty active LR is always fun and finally seeing my player do some damage.

Eldon Escobar has had a very good season in his debut year with the Houston Bulls of VHLM finishing his debut season with 26 goals 23 assists for 49 points in 72 games and his team the Houston bulls finishing second in there conference 2 points behind the Las Vegas aces and third overall finishing with 52 wins and 18 losses 2 over time losses for 106 points Escobar spent half the season playing extra minutes or 4th line minutes where he would average less that 10 minutes a night but it didn’t stop him and when he got the opportunity he didn’t waste it going on an 8 game point streak having it broke it game 71 only to come right back and score 2 goals in his final game of the season and was named the first star of Houston’s final game of the season now Eldon and the bulls are playing Philly in the first round and Escobar has said he’s more than ready and he thinks they’re serious contenders to win the championship but will other things like the VHLM draft and other take his mind to different places and distract him from his goal we will all find out very soon.

Eldon Escobar has recently come out in the media and has said that he is finally feeling confident again since being a mainstay on the third line Escobar had a pretty significant pointless streak and lack of offensive impact on the 4th line over the past few games Escobar has finally started to get his offence back where it was previously Houston bulls have had an amazing season and with the teams upper management with acquiring some more offensive weapons Escobar was pushed down the lineup where he was consistently scoring on the third line to being put on the 4th line playing between 4-8 minutes a night but he has put in the work and it’s been noticed as GM Moon has put him back on the third line on the wing which is a new challenge but he isn’t going to let the opportunity go to waste as he hasn’t disappointed since being place on the third line on a 5 game point streak and has risen his number back up from averaging under 0.5 PPG to now having 16 goals 15 assists for 31 points in 56 games along with being a plus 18 showing he’s also been reliable on defence and he can’t wait to help the bulls fight for the championship.

Eldon Escobar recently got his first career hat trick when the Houston bulls defeated Los Vegas 7-6 in the shootout with Escobar having 3 goals and an assist in the last 4 games Escobar has put up 6 points to add to his total of 12 goals 22 points in 41 games but this offensive explosion from Escobar happened after a 7 game pointless streak we saw that Escobar was on the steady improvement playing 3rd line center his numbers were consistent but when Houston made a huge trade bringing in some offensive help he got demoted to the 4th line playing 3 to 4 even strength minutes he was getting pk time but he wasn’t able to show off his offensive skill set until GM moon decided to give some guys the chance and Escobar wasn’t going to take that lightly Playin second line minutes getting his chance to show what he can do and after the 4 game experiment now he’s proved himself and hasn’t stopped getting better every game he’s back on the third line now as a winger which is semi new to Escobar as he player wing on the second line but this is a new challenge and Escobar doesn’t plan on disappointing.

All Eldon Escobar really wants to do it to keep improving. Keep striving for his goal to one day be one of the best if not the best two way centre in the VHL and it all starts with his debut season in the VHLM with the Houston bulls the team that just defeated the league favourites the Ottawa Lynx and hoping to bring them and championship before he moves on up the ladder of his development. Right now Eldon has said that he’s putting all his emphasis on scoring and his defence then once those are maxed he will move on to max out his face offs to be as effective as possible then on to his skating lessons to be the quickest most maneuverable centres in the VHL then checking he wants to lear the art of checking to punish the opponents and shut them down. but along with his career he is grateful to have the opportunity to put on that bulls uniform and make Houston proud in the short time he’s been there so far he loves the locker room the management and couldn’t see and better way to star of his career than in Houston a place who made an 18 year old from Newfoundland feel comfortable and at home.

Eldon Escobar Age:18 height:6’0 weight:194 Eldon Escobar or to the name he was give by his hometown The Newfie Gretzky the 18 year old Escobar got off to a slow start pointless in his first 5 games with the bulls but he has recently really picked up his game lately with Escobar currently on a 3 game point streak with 4 points in those 3 games 3 goals and an assist to add for 11 points and 5 goals in 22 games so far this year Escobar’s contributions have helped the Houston Bulls achieve second overall in the western conference and fourth overall in the VHLM now here is Escobar’s pros things he does well and cons things he needs to improve on. pros Escobar prides himself on being a team guy he has a strong two way game playing on the bulls Penalty kill he has a good stick and hockey sense along with what is becoming a decent scoring touch with 5 goals in 20 games played so far this season with the Bulls his skating is coming along great he is good on his edges and has good balance with a nice skating posture and stride just need to get that foot speed up at a VHL level as well as his face offs which he has worked on and face offs is what Escobar said he’d most like to improve to become a face off specialist with all these assets in Escobar’s Arsenal he uses them effectively while he’s on the ice. Cons Now to the thing I think Escobar needs to refine to be and good player at the top level Escobar has the vision to see open lanes in the offensive zone but just dosent have the passing ability yet to quite hit the mark Tato’s to tape he’s also a player who doesn’t use his body he’s 6 foot 194 pounds he need to learn to use his weight to not only maintain possession of the puck when he has it but to for check and turn the puck over as well he also needs a little work on his penalty shot attempts as well he seems a little nervous and unsure in the times he’s take them so far this season Escobar also has tallied 17 penalty minutes so far this season in 22 games I’d like to see him half that. projection I believe if Escobar Keeps improving to the drastic degree I’ve been seeing out of him lately in his very short VHLM career so far I have no doubt that he will have no trouble being one of the better two way Centres in the VHL someday if he refined his scoring and his defence adds a playmaking element to his game and keeps adding to his skating and learns to throw his weight around but still be cool calm and collected I’m sure Eldon Escobar has a long career in the VHL ahead of him.

Eldon Escobar Born in: Newfoundland Canada height: 6’0 weight: 194 Being a hockey player is hard especially if your family is from Mexico where hockey isn’t popular with only 18 rinks, but the path for Eldon Escobar was made even harder when his family moved to Newfoundland before he was born. Growing up Escobar first found his love for hockey when his dad took him to a Newfoundland Growlers game when he was 5 his passion for the sport only grew from there. Growing up Eldon had to work 10 times harder than his peers because his family didn’t have a lot of money he grew up using wood sticks until he was 16 when Eldon turned 16 a Newfoundland Junior team took a chance on him when they saw him play in his U18 finals where he had a hat trick and 5 points including the overtime winner to give him U18 team there first ever championship. That night the coach offered him a tryout as a walk on for the St John’s Shamrocks of the MJHL (Maritimes Junior hockey league) it decided to be a blessing for Escobar and the Shamrocks they took a shot on a home grown talent in the first year he had 25 point tallying 12 goals in the process in 58 games he noticed after his rookie he wasn’t strong enough to held of the big defence of the MJHL so he returned for his final year with the Shamrocks adding 20 pounds. Eldon returned for his last year with the Shamrocks a new and improved player in the summer he worked on his foot speed and strength he finished off the year with 92 points 42 goals in 58 games the league record was 85 points but Escobar smashed that record and the hockey fans of Newfoundland where calling him the Newfie Gretzky and with his contributions the Shamrocks won the MJHL Championship with Eldon Escobar being named league MVP and playoff MVP and after that incredible year he decided to take his talents to the VHL joining the VHLM for the upcoming season. he signed a one year 1.5 million dollar contract with the Houston Bulls of the VHLM so far this season he’s put up 6 points in 16 games played with 2 goals he hopes to bring the bulls to glory and is more than excited to see where his career goes from here only one way he’s going and that’s to the top.

The Houston Bulls Eldon Escobar went his first 5 games with no points then he had a 3 game point streak 3 assists to kick off his debut year in the VHLM and the Bulls just recently had there winning streak ended by Saskatoon and since then Escobar has gone 4 games pointless and was a minus 2 in there loss to Saskatoon and he wasn’t reliable in face offs going 11/23 when asked if the cold streak is diminishing his confidence we asked him he said this. “No it’s not I’m just working on my game every day trying to be the best version of myself to help my team win and if I’m not putting up points I hope to contribute in other ways being reliable on the other side of the puck or throwing my weight around a little and I’m confident I’ll will find my scoring touch again soon” Eldon seemed in high spirits even after the Bulls winning streak was ended they beat Mexico 7-1 do you think Eldon Escobar can get out of his pointless streak? I do it’s only a matter of time before he finally scores his first VHLM goal with the Houston Bulls.

This season is Eldon Escobar’s first year in the VHLM his debut season he was lucky enough to be picked up off of free agency and signed a contract with the Houston Bull of the VHLM he’s proud to be a member of the Houston Bulls in his first 4 games Escobar has gone scoreless with only play 6 mins or less in those games where the Houston Bulls have started with a 1-3 record but that doesn't discourage him it motivates him and he’s ready and willing to improve and in the future earn more minutes with hard work he is ready to prove that he wants to be the best he can be and wants to be a piece of the puzzle to helping the Houston Bulls achieve glory and the first step is to do whatever he can to to help the bulls win he’s excited for his debut Season hopefully earn the right to be drafted and playing in many more seasons to come!!
