Otaznik reacted to KRZY in LA Stars Season 90 Preview
With Season 90 getting underway I figured now is just a good of time as any to give you a sneak peak at the season 90 version of you LA Stars. This seasons squad looks quite different then past years , as there has been quite the influx of new players along with the regular faces you are used to seeing around Los Angeles.

Lets get started with the forward core suiting up for the stars this season.

    C - Todd Cooke
The last 2 seasons Cooke has done a good job establishing himself as a household name . This season however Cooke really would like to take another step forward and establish himself as a top 10-5 player in the VHL . He’s consistently gotten better every season in his VHL career so far the LA lifer will do everything in his power to accomplish this goal and bring a Cup to The Stars aswell.

    C - Napoleon Dynamite ( @thadthrasher )
The Dynamic forward is one of the many first year Stars playing in LA this season . The Stars struck gold when they acquired Dynamite in a trade with New York earlier this season . I fully anticipate Dynamite having a career year this season playing in LA alongside Cooke , Puk and Joyo .

    RW - Svatopluk Puk ( @Otaznik )
This Veteran Winger brings loads of experience and a very well rounded game to the Stars , Puk has put up good numbers and always been a contributor wherever he’s played throughout his career . On the tail end of his career you can bet he’s looking to help achieve the goal of playing for a Continental Cup this season.

    C - Sunglasse Joyo ( @JetsGoalie101 )
The always charismatic Joyo returns to LA for his fourth season for the Stars , each year we’ve seen steady improvements in Joyos game with sunglasses on of course ! I fully expect to see much the same this season and Joyo to have another career high season.

    LW - Gregger Mckeggegger ( @TheNeonShaman )
Mckeggegger returns for his sophomore season looking to improve and earn more i time and responsibility on the ice . I fully expect Gregger to be given ever opportunity to succeed and improve on and off the ice this season . Mckeggegger has all the tools and making of a future star in the league it’s just a matter of time !

    RW - Adam Rage ( @MrMom )
Rage was acquired in a late season trade with Moscow and will be relied upon to fill out LA’s Forward group . Much like Mckeggegger he will be given ample opportunities to prove himself throughout that season , and looks to be a big part of LA’s future moving forward.

Next we’ll move on to the Defenceman manning the blue line for the Stars this season.

    Callum Murray ( @Berocka)
Taking over as Captain of this years Stars team in his final farewell season Murray is the longest tenured skater on the team and is very deserving of the captain’s C always willing to do whatever is needed to try and get his team the W . Murray would like nothing more then to lead the Stars to a Continental Cup in his Final season before retirement.

    Elias Lampi ( @Pifferfish )
Lampi came over in a monster trade with Seattle early in the off season and after having a career year he will look to bring that momentum to LA and further breakout as a top defenceman for the Stars and carry the torch after Murray leaves at the conclusion of this season. Lampi will no doubt prove to be an important addition throughout the season.

    Jens Lekman ( @Bobcat )
Lekman is a young hard hitting puck moving defender that like Lampi will be a very very important player for the Stars going forward . Lekman is coming of a career best season last year and there’s no reason he can’t improve on those numbers this season.

And with that we’ll finish off with the Goalies.

    Art Vandelay ( @Gustav  )
Vandelay has been with the Srars for as long as Murray has and in that time he’s solidified himself as a top goalie in the league. The stars hit the jackpot taking him first overall way back in the season 84 draft. Vandelay will in my opinion be the most important player for the Stars this season !

    Matthew McCagg ( @Jack kidd )
McCagg is the lone rookie the Stars have this season . Coming in as backup McCagg is in one hell of a good spot learning from one of the best goalies the league has to offer . McCagg will take these next few years to grow and learn and eventually he might earn the started spot a few seasons down the road . One things forsure it will take a lot of work if that’s what he’s shooting for .

@InstantRockstar has done a very good job turning around a team that looked like theyd  be stuck in the mud meddling around no man’s land trying to fight for a wildcard spot into a true dark horse contender in the NA Conference.

Whirlwind of an off-season, at one point I thought LA may need to re-tool but a deal came along and worked itself out, and it pretty much saved the season lol.

@Otis Boudreaux Jr Really hate losing you. When I draft a player, I want to keep them as long as possible, but when it came down to competing vs not competing with the existing roster, I had to make that tough call. I know you'll do HUGE things in NY!

@Lucas anton Another prospect/player I really didn't anticipate moving, but when everyone else began stacking their rosters, I had no choice but to make drastic changes. Hopefully your time in LA is fulfilling!

    ---

@thadthrasher Thank you again for the trade, and @McWolf too, AGM's don't get enough credit but both of you worked hard to work with me and get this done. Thad, I am also very excited to have Dynamite on the roster.

@Otaznik Also extremely excited to bring you into LA, a huge piece for us moving forward, going to be a thrilling season here

    1. Nice streak, i believe we can make the play-offs, we have a good enough team for it
    2. Well i am not long in this game, so hard to say what would be a good change.
    3. In VHL it looks fine for me, but in VHLE i would change Bratislava Watchmen to a better one, idk maybe Bratislava Knights
    4. chicken maybe, or something that gives enough energy for the game
    6. I like them on Monday, i can forget about them sometimes, so if they will be posted on Sunday i might miss it.

    3. Florida Man for sure, he saw where they hid the eggs.
    4. Just "S" because they cannot pronounce his name right.
    6. Maybe Toronto or new team, Krakens

    1. First trade of the off-season came when Sergey Preobrazhensky was trade to Riga in a swap of first round picks allowing Vancouver to move up to ninth overall; Simply put the Vancouver Wolves due to salary cap reason couldn`t bring Sergey Preobrazhensky back so do you think this was fair trade given the player has signed in Riga? Why or why not?
I was sad to have to trade @Bulduray_1 but in the end it will give Eagles and Maple a chance to be the catalyst of our offense. After moving both him and Nezuko.
    2. Two days later the management team made two very difficult trades; first trading newly re-signed Tater Tottingham to Toronto with a S89 3rd round pick in return for Sting Chameleon and S90 2nd. While the other trade was long term forward Svatopluk Puk with S89 3rd to HC Davos for S90 1st. Which of these two trades surprised you the most? Why?
Some times circumstances determine moves you make. The salary cap going up was the main reason for both these moves. @Otaznik and I have been connected since he jiined tge league so this nove was the most difficult one I've had to make. But I think experiencing a new team and LR might help him grow into a bigger role within the league.
    3. Welcome back Bob Vladovechsenkchushkin!! In the fourth deal of the week seen Vancouver bring back Bob Vladovechsenkchushkin; who had a cup of coffee with the team last season during the off-season. Do you even remember Bob Vladovechsenkchushkin being part of the team last season? (I didn`t)
This was a move almost 4 seasons in the making. I can't wait to see what chemistry Bob V and Maple will have on the ice as playmajer and sniper.
    4. Last trade of the week was simply put a huge trade with Vancouver trading S88 1st (9th overall), S90 1st, S90 2nd and S89 3rd for 2nd overall pick in this season draft later tonight. Who do you think Vancouver Wolves should draft at 2nd overall? Why?
It was @STZ all the way. Would have been nice to make him 1st overall for the first time bur getting the player and person was more important so I'm glad D.C. chose Beketov. I think we have a great team going forward despite the draft capital we paid. Now we just need to manoeuvre around the salary cap season by season.
    5. Let’s call this one the Dusty Wilson situation as a lot of talk has been around how managers of teams handle aging or older players so if you are an aging player on a team are your prepared to be traded or would you rather retire if you are traded? Why? (BTW he retired)
I think if I won a cup with the team and was signed to a long term deal then I'd want that team to allow me that opportunity. Wilson was a pending FA with an option so it was a bit if an odd situation.
    6. I guess no riddle this week since I actually want to ask one final question; After all the changes to the roster with re-signing of Nezuko, Jens Lekman, and Wann Kerr, adding Bob Vladovechsenkchushkin and Sting Chameleon through trades, Rookie Oreo McFleury and whomever the team drafts with the 2nd overall pick. What do you rate Vancouver Wolves chance this season on a scale of 1-10? Why?
There were more moves after these ones. But I feelgood about our chances heading into the season. We've seen over the past two seasons that regular season standings don' tmean a whole lot cone playoff time.

    2. Hart to say, lose in 7 games isnt easy cuz u are so close and cant make the last step, and lose 4-0 is just a little shame tbh.
    3. It will be interesting, salary increase is a good thing, i looked at our roster, adnsaw its looking good for us with a space for new ones.
    4. No, i didnt even checked these changes.
    5. Fuhr have a big chance to win it, it wouldnt be surprising, but competition is strong too.

    2. Seattle, we had better games with them than Chicago.
    3. Both have good teams, my guess is 4:3 and Calgary as winner.
    4. Malmo, Warsaw, Prague, even that Prague will have to win both games they have remaining, London and RIga have 3 left.
    5. No favors, if they are good, they can make it. but i hope we can continue winning and end the regular season with wins.

    1. Well we needed one more defender, so we can make 2 pairs. hope that will hel us.
    2. Differences are small, so i think they can.
    3. Hmm hard to tell, sometimes you dont need a stacked team, just one that have chemistry.
    4. Tbh i follow more the NHL trades. In VHL just Vancouver ones.
    5. I didnt, but i am already hitting them this season. So all going well
    6. Last season we battled, and won it, so its hard to tell. lets see it from other perspective this season.

    3. they can be a little distracting, but also good for players. For my player, maybe some exclusive food place/restaurant, who wouldnt want free food everyday
    4. Welcome from the team was warm, took me few games till i got used to VHL, but Puk played a lot of minutes(probably even more than now), so i was satisfied. Second season was the one i realized i made it, thanks to winning the cup.

    3. Still Fuhr for me, even in games where we cant score much, he is consistent in net and not allowing opponent teams to score.
    4. They have a solid start as rookies, hope they continue in a good job.
    5. How we play is impressing. And i guess nothing needs to be changed until this all work. we could improve our scoring as players.

    5. Hmm i didnt know that, i thought they can find a team easily, as some teams have free spots. Maybe its cuz of salary?

    3. Well we little lost there, but lets see how we do in next season without him.
    4. Well he have to become a leader. I wish him good luck with us.
    5. Fuhr was amazing last season, but its always good to have a backup goalie, so Fuhr can rest too.

    2. Yeah as i mentioned next two games surprised me too.
    3. Fuhr, for me he is our MVP in the play-offs.
    4. It was a surprise, he was our leader in defence, also scored a lot of points. We will miss him. Not sure if its a good move or not.
    5. Its my first title, i lost in VHLM and VHLE finals, so i was close.
    6. Top teams are really even, so it will be really hard to win it again. It will be hard to choose to predict the winner next season.
