  3. Note: The form will close on Saturday morning (Western European Time).
  4. London, United Kingdom - It was yet another wet and rainy day in London, but in the O2 Arena, temperatures rose with the exciting matchup about to take place. It was game six of the Continental Cup Finals between the hometown's United and the North American's DC Dragons. Not only did this game captivate the home fans, hoping to close the series at home, but it also captivated VHL fans... and other players and notable figures around the league. We had a notable VHL family among fans and other relevant VHL figures hidden discreetly in one of the many luxury suites. Leandro Goncalves, now part of the VSN's game crew, has been a stellar part of this season's broadcasts - but today, it was more like an off day for the former player. With him, we found his sister Catia, the Calgary Wrangler, enjoying her time off after an early playoff exit, and with them, none other than one of the most anticipated prospects we've had around the VHL, Maverick Goncalves. After a game that showed everyone how good the teams that reach the Continental Cup Finals are, the family was reached out to by a few reporters, and of course, all eyes were on the young prospect. Maverick answered a few questions from the reporters, trying to figure out where the former Marlin would head next. Were there any private workouts in line for the Swiss Winger? The answer raised everyone's eyebrows. "I'm not leaving." What could this mean? Sources close to Maverick's camp reported the player could be leaning towards staying in Europe and playing for a VHLE team. Other sources report that Maverick might have already visited some teams around the league - with some reporting the surname coincidence between Maverick's and Zef's, the now Calgary GM who once was part of the management teams in Bratislava and Cologne.
  5. Ahahah not necessarily on Cologne - maybe past ones too. For ourselves... I'd say it'd be cool to have one on Calgary in the future

How confident are you that we can turn things around? 3. The Wildcard London United just swept the Victory Cup winners. How crazy is that? 4. DC is up 3-1 in their series. Who will be the winner of that series? 5. Are you following any other teams around the league? 6. What’s your favorite cheesy joke? -- Player Ping
  8. Welcome to this new short-form article that will provide updates on Frog's activities within the league. This past week, the Calgary Wranglers took advantage of being the top seed in North America and had a few days off between the end of the regular season and the start of the playoffs. This allowed the players to enjoy some fully deserved time off and provided management with some time to find the optimal line combinations to take into the first series of the playoffs. On another level, Maverick "Airborn" Goncalves finished his maiden season in the VHLM after playing 20 games for the San Diego Marlins. The Californian team gave Maverick the time on the ice he needed to show his skills, and the young Swiss player took advantage of his time playing in the 4th line. He finished the season with 4 points, evenly split between goals and assists. With both teams still in the race for their respective cups, this week's upcoming games in the VHL(M) will leave Frog ribbiting with enthusiasm.

  12. Maverick "Airborn" Goncalves Position: Winger Place of Birth: Gulfstream G650ER Height: 6' 1'' Weight: 194 lb. Shoots: Right Maverick Goncalves carries the legacy of a champion in his blood. This report looks at the future of a hockey player poised to rewrite the Goncalves name in even brighter lights. -- Pros Elite Skater Blessed with his father's technique, Maverick weaves through defenders with grace. His speed allows him to create scoring chances for himself and his teammates, often leaving them behind in awe. Dazzling Playmaker: More than just speed, Maverick's puck control stands out the most when you're watching him. His vision on the ice is second to none, anticipating plays and threading passes through opposing defenses. His creativity leaves opponents behind and opens up scoring opportunities for his entire line. Natural Scorer Though not a one-dimensional player, Maverick has an extraordinary shot. He can pick out the goalie from out of impossible positions, and there are no questions about his scoring ability. He's always a threat to opponent teams when on the ice. Coachable and Determined Raised on the ice by his legendary father, Maverick inherited something more important than talent, an unwavering work ethic. He is coachable, always seeking to improve his game, and possesses an insatiable drive to succeed. Leadership Potential Despite his young age, Maverick exhibits natural leadership qualities. His passion for the game and his positive attitude inspire those around him. He's not the vocal leader on the ice, but his work ethic motivates his teammates and elevates their play. Cons Experience Despite displaying prowess in college, Maverick has not been put to the test on a professional level. His adaptability will be the key to his success in transitioning from amateur hockey to professional. Defensive Awareness Although not a weakness, his offensive dominance can sometimes mask his defensive play. He should focus on his defensive skills by working towards better positioning and anticipation in the zone. That will make him a better player. The Pressure of Legacy Carrying the Goncalves name comes with high expectations. While Maverick embraces the challenge, managing the pressure and proving himself on his terms will be one of the most crucial aspects of his development. -- Long-Range Potential: Franchise Cornerstone Maverick Goncalves is not just a prospect. He is a phenomenon waiting to erupt. His talent, work ethic, and leadership potential make him a cornerstone piece for any team fortunate enough to draft him. He can take the league by storm, soaring above expectations and writing his legend in hockey history. He's still rough around the edges, but the future is bright for the "Davos Diamond."

  18. High above Greenland's air space, nestled between Seattle's fading skyline and the snow-capped majesty of the Swiss Alps... Maverick Goncalves was born. His birthplace wasn't a hospital room but a pressurized cabin, his lullaby the hum of jet engines. His first cradle wasn't a bassinet but a stewardess's makeshift haven of blankets and pillows. His father, Leandro Goncalves, wasn't just any passenger on that flight. He was a champion, a name etched in the Continental Cup with a World Cup gold medal gleaming beside it. Leandro had flown to Switzerland in pursuit of another championship in his final season... on that flight, a different kind of victory unfolded. As one of the biggest stars in the league, Leandro found one of the biggest paradoxes... fame is often followed by isolation or loneliness. Cheers echo, yet silence screams. Even diamonds need a hand to hold, not just hands to applaud. With his decision to become a father, even without a life partner, Leandro determined his season in Davos would be his last. Maverick may have grown up without a mother because of Leandro's choice, but his father was there for him every step of his life. The family settled in the Swiss Alps, where Maverick's early years were spent in a makeshift rink his retired father carved in their backyard, nestled between the evergreens of their Davos chalet, mimicking the elegance of the Swiss skaters, such as Daniel Janser. His natural talent for the game was evident from a young age, and Leandro quickly recognized his potential. But Maverick wasn't a mere copy of his father. He inherited Leandro's power and finesse, but his style blossomed. He was faster, more agile, a magician with the puck, weaving through defenders with an almost balletic grace. As he rose through the ranks, whispers of the "Davos Diamond," followed him. But he wasn't defined by his birth or his father's legacy. While his infancy was spent in Switzerland, destiny took a turn when Leandro decided to transition from the rink to the broadcasting booth. The allure of a new adventure and the opportunity to share his hockey knowledge with a broader audience led the family to pack their bags and cross the Atlantic. Canada, the heartland of hockey, became their new home. A place full of memories for Leandro but a new, intriguing, and unknown place for Maverick. After settling in Canada, Maverick became fully immersed in a new culture. The cheers of Canadian fans replaced the mountain air and became the favorite part of his life. Under the guidance of his father, now a respected voice in the hockey broadcasting community, Maverick continued to evolve as a player, adapting his Davos-honed skills to the intensity of the Canadian game. As the young kid grew, he matched his father's work ethic. Resembling a passage from his father's biography, Maverick started waking up early for practice before school and staying late for practice after. This isn't the usual adolescence for a teenager, but Maverick isn't your typical teen. As he continued his journey in the streets of Toronto, continuously falling in love with the sport, the Goncalves' name started weighing on his shoulders. Maverick didn't run away from that pressure. Instead, he embraced, and with pressure, diamonds are made. For all the attention he got, the pressures of social media, or the numerous media outlet requests, Leandro stood by his side, protecting Maverick's privacy for as long as he could. There came a time when this was no longer possible. As Maverick grew, it came a time for decision after his senior year in High School. Where would Maverick's flight path take him? This was no longer a time for protection but one of emancipation. Although, to Leandro's avail, Maverick decided it was time for him to spend some time in university. Not only would this enable Maverick to pursue his studies, but it would also allow him to break free from his father's influence and carve his own path. One season in the NCAA was all it took for Maverick to decide he was made for bigger things. For as much fun he had while playing for the Michigan Wolverines, one thing was undeniable... this kid was a star meant for bigger and better places. The was one thing that came out of his time in Ann Arbor, though... his nickname. Maverick "Airborn" Goncalves pays tribute to his birthplace and skills, showcasing his unique origin and technique. After he scored the "Michigan" goal at that same school, his teammates wasted no time giving him that nickname. This is just the beginning, the blank ice waiting for Maverick's story to unfold. Will he follow his father's path to the Continental Cup? Will he forge his own legend, defying expectations and rewriting hockey history? The puck, as always, is in his hands. Name: Maverick "Airborn" Goncalves Position: Skater Nationalities: American, Greenlander, Portuguese, Swiss
