Ahsoka Tano is participating in the Junior Showcase Tournament this offseason and is playing for the Brigade. She was selected 5th overall. So far she has played in all 10 games and has 2 goals and 5 assists for 8 points with a -4. It seems she is also back in her old habits as she has racked up 18 penalty minutes. Overall she is the 13th best player in the tournament and the 5th best defenseman.

“The tournament has been fun so far and it’s nice to keep my body going during the off season. But I am disappointed in my performance. I’m just hoping it doesn’t make teams think I can’t produce. I’ve also got the ProAm coming up so I’m looking forward to that.”

Tano was selected a not so surprising 45th overall by the Kitchener Kitsunes. Given that she is going to be playing with well established VHL players, it’s not farfetched to think she would be drafted that low.

Aimee reacted to Keegan Gamble in Gambles First Season with London
Keegan Gamble's journey in the Victory Hockey League (VHL) has been one marked by significant transitions, triumphs, and personal challenges. A standout player known for his agility, vision, and scoring ability, Keegan was a prized asset for any team. His trade to the London United before the S94 season marked a new chapter in his career, one filled with high expectations and the promise of a championship run.

The decision to trade Keegan from the D.C. Dragons to the London United was strategic and driven by London's ambition to clinch the VHL championship. With a roster already FLOODING with talent, London saw in Keegan the missing piece that could propel them to the top. His previous performances with the Dragons had been stellar, showcasing his ability to change the course of games with his offensive prowess and leadership on the ice.

Keegan's inaugural season with the London United did not disappoint. He ended the regular season with an impressive tally of 36 goals and 54 assists, accumulating a total of 90 points. This remarkable performance underscored his value and justified the trade, as he quickly became a key player for the United. His chemistry with his new teammates (some old), combined with his relentless drive, made London a formidable contender throughout the regular season.

However, the playoffs told a different story. Despite their strong season, the London United were unexpectedly swept in the first round. Keegan, who had been a consistent performer all season, managed only 3 points in the playoffs. This disappointing end to their championship aspirations was a bitter pill to swallow for the team and its fans. For Keegan, it was a particularly tough moment, as his efforts fell short when it mattered most. The playoff sweep not only dashed their title hopes but also cast a shadow over what had been an otherwise spectacular season for him.

Amidst the professional highs and lows, Keegan faced a deeply personal challenge: the retirement of his best buddy from the minors, Sjin. Their friendship had been a cornerstone of his career, providing emotional support and camaraderie.

The bond they shared was more than just a friendship, it was a brotherhood forged through countless hours on and off the ice, navigating the ups and downs of their hockey journeys together

Sjin’s decision to retire was a significant emotional blow for Keegan. Losing a close friend who had been with him through thick and thin added to the weight of the disappointing playoff exit.

The news brought a mix of sadness and reflection for Keegan, as he grappled with the end of an era in his personal and professional life. It was a reminder of the transient nature of a hockey career and the importance of cherishing the moments and relationships formed along the way.

As Keegan looks ahead to the future, his resolve remains unshaken. The lessons learned from the playoff setback and the emotional impact of Sjin’s retirement will undoubtedly fuel his determination to achieve greater heights. The London United still sees him as a crucial part of their quest for a championship, and Keegan, with his skill, experience, and newfound motivation, is poised to rise to the challenge.

    Hello VHL!

As some of you may or may not have heard, @AJW will be stepping away from his GM job in Houston at the end of this season. AJ is no stranger to the VHLM. In fact, he's been a GM three different times, two of them with Houston. We've always expected the best from him, and we've always been happy to hire him because we know he'll put in the effort that the league deserves. This past time was no exception--many thanks to AJ for your time once again!

That said, we're looking for a new GM in Houston. Let us know down below, and we'll pick who we like most.

With the offseason comes lots of new developments, of course, and something we often have to deal with is our GMs being stolen with no notice (and we LOVE dealing with that, so please continue doing so). I mostly joke because I've been looped in on what's happening, or not happening, in at least one place so far, but as a whole it remains entirely possible that we'll still have openings that I currently have no idea about. So, if you don't see yourself hired as the next GM of the Bulls, keep in mind that you might still become the next GM somewhere else! We will keep the community (mostly) as updated as we are.

Best of luck! Speak up and help us lead the next generation of sim leaguers.

Well, this is it, my last earning post for Joel Castle. The Cup Final will either end tonight or tomorrow but I’ve taken it to the extreme end. And what a ride it’s been! No matter how Simon rolls the dice tonight, it’s been a great career. November 7, 2022 I was drafted by the Toronto Legion and soon my time in the crease will end and it will be time for another to guard the Legion net.

With all the amazing goalies that have played for the Legion over the years, I knew I would never be the best one, but I’m proud and grateful to have accomplished as much as I did. I never thought it would be as good as it has been. It has been an honor to stand in the blue paint, look up to the rafters and see those that have been in the same spot before me: Alex Gegeny, Aidan Shaw, Remy LeBeau, Hans Wingate, and Jaxx Hextall. To also know that many Hall-of-Famers defended the same net – Maxim Desny, Alexander Labatte, Greg Clegane, and Norris Stopko – gave me a sense of duty to perform well every night.

Joel Castle finishes his Legion career with the following stats:

    Regular season:
    GP: 504 (2nd all-time Legion), W: 256 (2nd), L: 197 (2nd), OTL: 47 (2nd), SV%: 0.924 (T-8th), GAA: 2.59, SO: 28 (T-7th), SA: 16949 (1st)
    Playoffs:
    GP: 63 (1st), W: 37 (1st, T-11th VHL), L: 24 (2nd), OTL: 2, SV%: 0.927 (5th), GAA: 2.47 (5th), SO: 6 (1st, T-8th VHL), SA: 2155 (1st)
One of only four goalies in VHL history to post 4 shutouts in a single post-season (Brick Wahl S39 & S42, M.T. Power S53, Jesse Teno S88, Castle S94)

    Accolades:
    S84 Founder’s Cup (Las Vegas)
    S85 JST Champions (Dehli Pickles)
    S86 WJC Silver Medal (Canada)
    S90 WC Gold Medal (Canada)
S91 Continental Cup (Toronto), S91 Diasuke Kanou Trophy, S91 All-VHL Second Team
    S92 WC Bronze Medal (Canada)
    S94 Victory Cup (Toronto)

I want to thank @Shindigs for drafting me to Las Vegas and @Moon for drafting me in the S86 draft to Toronto and allowing me to assist as AGM.
I want to thank the rest of the Legion management team for being so awesome to work with: @Peace, @v.2 , @dstevensonjr.
Thanks to the BUGs that have come in when I had a bad game and rode the pine at the expense of their own playing time – DJ Fire Dragon @Firekiss, Even Bihler @Eb14, Toddly Bobbly @ToddlyBobbly - it was a pleasure sharing the crease with you!
Thanks to Oskar Lindbergh @Doomsday for accepting a trade to Calgary and allowing me to become the starter right away – which I think turned out good for both of us!
Thanks to the rest of the “Fab Four” from the S86 Draft: Fuukka Rask @Jubis, Lachlan Summers @kirbithan and Ash Sparks @DarkSpyro. You guys pushed me to be better every day and it was honor to battle against you.
And especially I wish to sincerely thank all my teammates over the years with the Las Vegas Aces, Geneva Rush and of course, Toronto Legion. You have made this journey with Joel Castle so awesome and I appreciate every one of you.

I’m taking a season off but I’ll be around. I’m looking to recreate for the S97? Draft. Everyone have a great summer!

During this off season, I have needed to take a bit of a step away from being a max earner. And that makes me sad. Honestly. I truly enjoy interacting in the forums and discord servers but life and work have just been too overwhelming and busy for me to give the VHL the attention I want to. I miss writing and I miss doing the occasional podcast. I’ll be honest and say that part of it is my mental health. I’ve started back up on anti-depressants and I’ve started seeing a new therapist. So I’m hoping to get back to where I was. I’m not burnt out; I can say that for sure. I’ve just lost ability to find joy in things, one of which is online interaction. Not to say that I’m not always reading discord or muting Moscow during the work day. I’m still around, just keeping it quiet for a bit.

I do love that I finally got the updater job. It’s the one job I have wanted since I joined 2 years ago and I think this was my 4th(?) time applying. So thanks to the updater team for hiring me! It’s for sure making this funk easier to get through knowing I don’t have to sweat some TPE.

I miss interacting and I’m sorry I’ve not been reading anything that any of my friends have been posting. Maybe this weekend I’ll find some time to catch up and check it all out. But for now, I’m just going to do what I can, and I would understand if that hurt my draft stock. Though I do promise that whoever drafts me, I’m going to do all that I can.
