  13. Maybe as GM! I let London down, really wish I could've completed the trifecta and we had two prime opportunities to do so.
  14. 1. Based my player on crosby 2. I use to play the NHL games but I don't have a console anymore so I haven't played any of the recent ones. 3. Ohh maybe the top of yosemite or ben nevis I'm not really sure what's taller. 4. I don't really know what they do so don't have an opinion. 5. Probably recruitment. 6. full english breakfast really gets the london boys stoked.
  15. My career, what an interesting one. It's had its ups and downs, and some amazing friends made along the way. I will be taking a short break from the VHL and just focusing on GMing the Cologne Express (where we just won our 5th franchise championship). I intend to stay whilst the team is still competitive and try to leave an impressive legacy behind, seems to consist of other VHLE GMs disliking us haha. The reason behind my break is starting my career in the oil & gas industry working for Valero. Whilst my workload is much smaller than when I was still studying in university, I wanted to take a break to enjoy the amazing area that I've moved to and focus my attention towards enjoying all the outdoor activities the area offers and making the most of the opportunity in front of me. So to start off with my statistics as a GM so far! Cologne Express Regular Season S89 - 43W 20L 9OTL S90 - 36W 32L 4OTL S91 - 43W 25L 4OTL S92 - 50W 18L 4OTL S93 - 48W 20L 4OTL S94 - 46W 19L 7OTL Totals - 266W 134L 32OTL Play-offs S89 - 8W 1L 0OTL (have to thank @leandrofg for the incredible team he left in my hands) S90 - 8W 4L 0OTL S91 - 8W 1L 0OTL S92 - 4W 5L 0OTL S93 - 2W 4L 0OTL S94 - 8W 4L 0OTL Totals - 38W 19L 0OTL So overall, a very impressive GM career so far we've been incredibly strong in the 6 seasons that I've been GMing the team, and I couldn't be happier with the performance for all the players that have played underneath me. Really made a mark on the VHLE so far and intend to continue this impressive streak! I couldn't do any of it without my 5AGMs, whom come in and out of activity for the team including: @leandrofg @Keegan Gamble @Fradin99 @Mysterious_Fish @McGriddy10 Now I want to talk about my player career where I was able to play with some absolutely amazing people who have made my experience in the VHL so far so amazing and keep bringing me back day after day. I was fortunate enough to play for three amazing franchises including the San Deigo Marlins, Cologne Express, and London United. San Diego Marlins Regular Season S84 - 20GP 6G 21A 27P S85 - 65GP 29G 48A 77P S86 - 72GP 30G 58A 88P S87 - 72GP 35G 58A 93P S88 - 72GP 44G 54A 98P S89 - 72GP 31G 50A 81P Totals - 373GP 175G 289A 464P Play-offs S85 - 6GP 0G 1A 1P S86 - 16GP 7G 5A 12P S87 - 14GP 7G 4A 11P S88 - 10GP 3G 7A 10P S89 - 15GP 9G 8A 17P Totals - 61GP 26G 25A 51P A fantastic career playing for the San Diego Marlins which is where I first got really invested into the league under GM @jacobcarson877 who was a fantastic mentor and teacher, and then @Arce an amazing veteran of the league! This was my first interactions with a few members that become some of my closest friends on the forum including: @vincentlg2007 @Keegan Gamble @Fradin99 @Mysterious_Fish @McGriddy10 @Triller @aimkin I finished my career in the VHLM finishing 2nd in franchise scoring only behind the legendary Roadkill Steve. Finishing my career with 467 points landing me 5th overall in all time VHLM scoring. Making @jacobcarson877 trade for me way back in S85 the best in VHLM history and leading to 2 cups for the Marlins franchise! Cologne Express Regular Season S90 - 72GP 37G 49A 86P Totals - 72GP 37G 49A 86P Play-offs S90 - 12GP 8G 12A 20P Totals - 12GP 8G 12A 20P The opportunity to play on the team I was the GM of and lead my own team to back-to-back championships was an awesome experience, and it was fantastic to play alongside @Keegan Gamble @Starchychaff @Elvis @Plate @McGriddy10 @Big Dee @comrade cat it was truly awesome, the vibes were absolutely amazing and I couldn't of asked for more! London United Regular Season S91 - 72GP 21G 23A 44P S92 - 72GP 25G 44A 69P S93 - 72GP 41G 51A 92P S94 - 72GP 44G 64A 108P Totals - 288GP 131G 182A 313P Play-offs S91 - 10GP 2G 2A 4P S92 - 22GP 9G 10A 19P S93 - 16GP 10G 6A 16P S94 - 4GP 2G 3A 5P Totals - 52GP 23G 21A 44P Being able to play for London was a truly awesome experience being from the United Kingdom myself and being able to represent my local team within the VHL, not only that reuniting with my favourite GM of all time the amazing @jacobcarson877. However, there were a few more perks for playing for the franchise including the San Diego Marlins reunion playing alongside @Triller @aimkin @Uncommon. Additionally given the opportunity to play with some franchise legends at the time! @JCarson @VattghernCZ @eagle_3450, and Jacob Carson made it possible to reunite some old line mates and friends by signing and trading for @vincentlg2007 @Keegan Gamble @Zylen @McGriddy10 Whilst we were unable to win the elusive Continental Cup it was still awesome and exciting to play for the franchise and I wouldn't have changed anything! My experience has just been fantastic. Making back-to-back finals only to lose in 7 games was devasting but always had me on the edge of my seat eagerly waiting for the next sim from league simulators. So a special thanks to all the league simmers over the last 10 seasons! @Beketov @Josh @MexicanCow123 @N0HBDY The VHLM commissioners for making the unpopular decision (only in my opinion) to cap the number of seasons a player can be in the VHLM @Spartan @Gustav And the awesome VHLE commissioners that have helped bring the league back to relevancy @Enorama @thadthrasher So there's a lot left untold in the story of Sjin but for now my player is retiring where I'll be taking a break as player from the league, and my GMing career is nearing it's end the upcoming season might be my last as the Cologne Express GM. I'm awfully thankful for all the members of the forum that have made it all worth it, and I'm excited to recreate at some time in the future and battle my way through the leagues again, let's hope it's as good the second time around! I WILL BE BACK, AND I WILL CLAIM MY CONTINENTAL CUP! 1094 words
  16. 1. It has to be London and Seattle 2. San Diego S86 that was special 3. Well, it's hard to say so many good candidates, I'm not sure who's actually going for it but hopefully someone active and keeps things running smoothly they have a big job ahead. 4. It's going to be brutal probably at least 4-5. 5. Not in the UK 6. Not a fan of slurpees, I think theyre more of an American thing. I'm quite happy with water, and if not beer
  17. 1. Oh yeah... We're winning the whole thing lets do it London! 2. win 11 lose 2. LONDON FTW 3. I'm feeling good it's my last season I'm pretty motivated to earn a lot of TPE here! 4. I think London needs to accept their fate and begin the rebuild it'll be a tough one. 5. Very sad to see, it's very fitting though. I'm sure he'll be back at some point! 6. Sure why not there's bread and a filling.
  18. Well! What a career it's been. Finally concluding my final season in the VHL. Having played 4 seasons in the VHL, 1 in the VHLE and 6 in the VHLM. It's been a journey from wanting to be a VHLM lifer, winning the cup, progressing to the VHLE winning in my first season and moving onto the VHL, where Sjin with London has reached the VHL finals in back to back seasons unfortunately losing in game 7. Perhaps this season things will be different.... I've been extremely fortunate with my experience in the league, I had a wonderful GM in the VHLM who was extremely nurturing and helped me become the player I am and really got me invested into the league, so I have to give credit to the best GM the league has ever seen @jacobcarson877 he made my experience what it was really teaching me the ropes and getting me into the league. I was then GMed by another legend within the VHL @Arce who was absolutely awesome. Unfortunately he's dropped off the grid a bit in recent seasons but whilst he was here he was just fantastic! Additionally getting the opportunity to GM my own player which was truly an awesome experience especially winning the VHLE as both GM and player! Where I then progressed to the VHL, where I was reunited with an old friend Jacob Carson once again in London it couldn't have been more fitting as a player from the United Kingdom, and what a time it has been, as previously mentioned we have currently achieved back to back VHL finals! Now talking stats, in the VHLM, Sjin had 467 points in 380 games consisting of 175 goals and 292 assists. My time in the VHLE was much shorter just one season but still impressive achieving 86 points with 37 goals and 49 assists in just one season. Finally my time in London, where I currently have 293 points in 273 games with a breakdown of 124 goals and 169 assists. It would be awesome to break the 300 point mark in the VHL with just 4 seasons in the league and that is looking likely with my current trajectory. I couldn't have wished for a better time in the league it has truly been magical and met a lot of awesome people along the way. Many thanks to all the commissioners, general managers, mods and players that have made it such an awesome experience.
  19. Doing an old presser! 1. I think reality is starting to set in Calgary did have a miracle start to the season and just dominated. 2. Always Daniel Janser, though it would've been nice to play alongside Landon and Leandro. 3. Sjin, singlehandedly 4. No more canadien teams please haha. 5. Probably Arizona makes a lot of sense. I know the panthers struggle with viewership but I love the team so. I imagine it'll be an expansion if they did add another team. 6. Haha, I don't think any European team would survive in the NHL, perhaps SKA St. Petersburg
  20. The VHLM, well where do I begin. I've got a lot of opinions when it comes to this league. As someone who originally intended to spend the entirety of their career playing for the San Diego marlins. This however was cut short by the commissioners of the league unfortunately. Yes, I'm still a little salty about it. However, it did lead to some interesting developments within my own career. Winning the renaissance cup playing for my own team the Cologne Express. Meaning that my player had won cups in two leagues now. Whilst my career with London has been strong, being a part in the team reaching the finals two seasons in a row we have yet to be able to win it all truly cementing my player as a champion winning in all three leagues. Perhaps this season? who really knows... This was all made possible by the VHLM commissioners so whilst my dream of becoming the all time scoring leader in the M was squashed it meant my player went on to bigger things. So I have to be thankful for the decision that was made as it meant I got to truly experience the VHL and the VHLE. It is unfortunate though that I won't see my name in the history books as the greatest M player of all time. Enough talking about the commissioners of the league and onto the actual league itself. The VHLM my beloved league! I will be returning soon with another VHLM lifer, well for as long as I can until I reach my cap on the number of seasons played. Hopefully this time I'm able to make a larger impression in the short while that I play there and see if it's possible to break any records without spending the entirety of your career there. San Diego is the obvious landing point with their fabulous GM Fish who has made some nice moves trying to return the Marlins to their former glory from S86 and S89. Which I will hopefully be able to aid in my time in the VHLM. There still seems to be some gaps in some VHLM rosters, so it would be good to recruit more people to the league to fill that void. But overall the league is strong, and we see nothing like the previous hounds 0-0-72 record anymore due to the decisive decisions of the commissioners ensuring that teams hold onto a minimum number of picks. This has meant the league is a lot more competitive and stops completely tanking teams and juggernauts, which has meant there's a more of a level playing field resulting in the league being even more exciting each and every season. I think the commissioners have been doing a fantastic job (give them a raise) keeping the league balanced and enjoyable for new players to learn the ropes of the VHL. Now it's just the mission of the recruitment squad to ensure that the VHLM is filled with new and energic first gens that will continue on to have fabulous careers!
  21. 1. Maybe adding another defenceman? That would likely help really solidify our team, but honestly we're looking great! 2. Definitely possible Seattle is one of the strongest teams this season so it's going to be a close battle. 3. Alexandros Mograine currently playing for Cologne will be a good piece in the future. And whilst not a prospect Keegan Gamble is going to be awesome in his time here! 4. I think Triller does it, break the all time team scoring record! It would be awesome to see. 5. Making the finals pfft, we're winning the whole thing! 6. Isn't it obvious, they both have the same middle name they should get married then we'll have Alexander the Great Pooh.
  22. 1. Very good, team is looking strong. Looks like we're on for another good season! 2. Absolutely Triller and Kerr are awesome they'll definitely sneak into the top players! 3. It's got to be Malmo currently, theyve always FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY us for first in the conference. Though Moscow is looking very strong. 4. Mexican food, no idea why. I just feel like it would be mexican food. 5. I have been to London many times, wouldn't recommended everything is expensive and there's so many peoples. Anyone coming to the UK needs to try greggs 6. I am rooting for Florida they deserved it last year and this year is their redemption.
  23. second lot of questions 1. Terrible, Sjin hates interviews. Just likes getting back to head to bed 2. Absolutely a wild spirit, Sjin does what Sjin likes. 3. Try to avoid the people running at you with knives very important. 4. We play as a team, we win as a team, we lose as a team. 5. Jacob is a fantastic GM, sure we've fell short but he got us there! And lets see how we do this season 6. That's going to be tough we're losing a lot of players at the end of the season, we're going to be having a tough rebuild.
