I apologize for the amount of coughing and my phone vibrating, if I had more technical know-how I'd edit those bits out. 2. Daniel Clark/user Danzo who I mentioned at the time of recording just reset their TPE has since that time reapplied it all and did not invest in checking so that isn't a concern any longer. 3. I was wrong, solo starters don't play 72 games. They only play 64. I still hold that most GMs won't just play a backup only 8 times considering they have a vested interest in keeping developing goalies interested and earning. Notably this recording was done at 5am and I was quite tired so more mistakes than this were likely made and missed by myself.

Reporter Todd Ripley: Good afternoon, and thank you for joining me today, Philadelphia Reapers GM. Let's start with the big news - you recently made a trade that saw you move down from the 2nd overall pick to the 7th overall pick in the VHLM Draft. Can you tell us a bit about the thought process behind that move? Philadelphia Reapers GM: Absolutely. We were evaluating our team's needs and the available talent in the draft, and we felt that there was a cluster of players in the middle of the first round who were all fairly similar in terms of their potential. By moving down to the 7th pick, we were able to acquire a talented defenseman in Trey Jones, who we believe will make an immediate impact on our team, as well as still get a player we had our eye on in Eric Queefson. Reporter Todd Ripley: That leads me to my next question - you used that 7th overall pick to select another defenseman, Eric Queefson. Was that always the plan, or did the trade change your strategy? Philadelphia Reapers GM: It was always our plan to select the best player available with our pick, regardless of position. When Eric was still available at the 7th pick, we felt that he was the best player on the board and a good fit for our team's needs. We're excited to have him join our organization. Reporter Todd Ripley: Some have criticized the move, saying that you gave up too much by moving down in the draft. How do you respond to that criticism? Philadelphia Reapers GM: I understand why people might feel that way, but we believe that the trade was a good one for our team. We were able to acquire a player in Trey Jones who we feel can make an immediate impact on our team, while still getting a talented young defenseman in Eric Queefson. Plus, by moving down in the draft, we were able to acquire some additional assets that we can use to further improve our team. Ultimately, it's all about building a team that can compete for championships, and we believe that this trade helps us do that. Reporter Todd Ripley: I'd like to switch gears now and talk about free agency. There are rumors that your team is negotiating with a rather high-maintenance defenseman named Juan Ceson. Can you comment on that? Philadelphia Reapers GM: Yes, we have been in negotiations with Juan Ceson and his agent. While he's certainly a talented player, I can confirm that his demands in contract talks have included some details the VHLM fanbase and sports media has dubbed as "rather ridiculous", including things like ponies and statues. Reporter Todd Ripley: Ponies and statues? That's quite unusual for a contract negotiation. How do you handle a player like that? Philadelphia Reapers GM: Well, we try to approach all negotiations with a level head and a willingness to find common ground. We certainly value Juan's talent on the ice, but we also have to consider the long-term financial health of our organization. We're hopeful that we can come to an agreement that works for both sides, but we won't compromise the integrity of our organization in the process. Juan is certainly a talented player, and we appreciate the value he brings to our team. While his contract demands have been unique, we understand that every player has their own priorities and preferences. We're continuing to work with Juan and his agent to find a solution that works for everyone involved. We're hopeful that we can come to a mutually beneficial agreement and have Juan on our team for the upcoming season. Reporter Todd Ripley: I see. And how are the negotiations progressing so far? Philadelphia Reapers GM: I can't go into specifics, but I will say that we're still in talks and working to find a resolution that works for both sides. Reporter Todd Ripley: Well, thank you for your time today, Philadelphia Reapers GM. Best of luck with the upcoming season and free agency negotiations. Philadelphia Reapers GM: Thank you, Reporter Todd. I appreciate it. 675 words 4/3 week

As the VHL offseason gets underway, many players take the opportunity to rest and recuperate after a grueling season of professional hockey. But for Elias Lampi, a rookie on the Bears team, there's no time to waste. Lampi and his teammates are already hard at work, preparing for the next season and honing their skills both on and off the ice. One of the key aspects of Lampi's offseason training regimen is his dedication to fitness. He spends hours in the gym every day, working on his strength, endurance, and agility. This kind of commitment is crucial for any professional athlete, but especially for someone like Lampi, who is still adjusting to the pace and physical demands of the VHL. In addition to his time in the gym, Lampi also works closely with his team's coaching staff to fine-tune his skills on the ice. They review game footage together, analyzing Lampi's performance and identifying areas for improvement. Lampi is always eager to learn and improve, and he takes every opportunity to soak up knowledge from his coaches and more experienced teammates. One important aspect that the Bears team emphasizes during the offseason is mental toughness. They recognize that being mentally strong can be just as important as being physically fit on the ice. To help with this, the team holds regular mindfulness and visualization sessions with a sports psychologist. These exercises not only help the players stay focused during games but also help them manage stress and anxiety both on and off the ice. But it's not all work and no play for Lampi and his teammates. They also make time for team-building activities and social events. Whether it's a round of golf, a day at the beach, or a night out on the town, these activities help the players to bond and strengthen their relationships off the ice. And that camaraderie can translate into better teamwork and on-ice success come game time. Of course, Lampi is not the only rookie on the Bears team, and he's not the only one working hard during the offseason. His fellow first-year players are also putting in extra time and effort to make sure they're ready for the next season. And that sense of collective dedication is something that Lampi finds particularly inspiring. "We all know how tough it is to make it in this league," Lampi says. "But when we see each other pushing ourselves and working hard, it makes us want to do the same. We're all in this together." As the offseason progresses, Lampi and his teammates will continue to train and prepare for the next season. And while there are sure to be plenty of challenges and setbacks along the way, Lampi is confident that his hard work and dedication will pay off in the end. "I know that if I keep pushing myself and focusing on the things that matter, I can be successful in this league," he says. "And I believe that my teammates feel the same way. We're all here to win, and we're going to do whatever it takes to make that happen." 520 words 3/26

Seattle Gazette Seattle Bears Fall Short in Conference Finals Against Calgary Wranglers By Todd Ripley The Seattle Bears, a formidable team in the VHL, fell just short of their bid to move on to the VHL Finals, as they lost to the Calgary Wranglers in the conference finals. While the Bears gave their all, they were unable to overcome the Wranglers' offensive power, losing the series 4-2. The Bears had an impressive regular season record of 33-31-8, placing them fourth in the Western Conference standings. They had a solid roster of players, including forwards Vasile Lamb, Tavish DeGroot, and Hulk Hogan 2, and defenseman Ryuji Sakamoto. They also had several promising rookies, including Randy Bobandy and Elias Lampi. In their series against the Wranglers, the Bears had their work cut out for them. The Wranglers had a potent offensive line, led by Daniel Janser, Leandro Gonclaves, and Landon Wolanin. The Bears' defense was up for the challenge, with Lampi and Sakamoto leading the charge, but the Wranglers were able to find the back of the net in crucial moments. On the offensive side, Lamb and DeGroot were unable to find their groove, as they were held in check by the Wranglers' defense, anchored by AirRig GoodBrandSun. Rookie Randy Bobandy showed flashes of brilliance, but was unable to convert his opportunities into goals. The Bears' goaltending was also tested in the series, as Dusty Wilson was under constant pressure from the Wranglers' offense. Despite making several key saves, Wilson was ultimately unable to stop the Wranglers from scoring. In Game 6 of the series, the Wranglers dominated the ice with a resounding 5-0 victory. Oskar Lindbergh was outstanding in goal, making 33 saves and earning a shutout. The Wranglers' offense was led by Janser and Wolanin, who each scored two goals in the game. Despite the loss, the Bears had a lot to be proud of in their season. They had several standout players, including Lampi, who showed great potential as a rookie defenseman. The team also had a solid group of veteran players who provided leadership and guidance. It's worth noting that one of the key players for the Bears in their playoff push was forward Vasile Lamb, who was acquired by General Manager Bana in a trade earlier in the season. Lamb provided a much-needed boost to the Bears' offense, scoring several key goals down the stretch and in the playoffs. It was a shrewd move by GM Bana that paid off for the Bears in their playoff run. Looking ahead, the Bears will likely continue to build around their core players and look to add new talent to their roster. With the right mix of veteran leadership and young talent, they have the potential to make a deep playoff run in the future. As for the Wranglers, they will move on to the VHL Finals, where they will face off against the winner of the European Conference. With their potent offense and strong defense, they will be a tough opponent for any team. Overall, the Bears' loss to the Wranglers was a tough one, but they have plenty to be proud of in their season. Fans can look forward to seeing what the future holds for this talented team.

Fake news Lampi is euro trash, he would never throw the bodie after a whistle -
Interviewer: Congratulations on the win, Elias. How does it feel to come out on top in such a close game? Elias Lampi: Thank you, it's an amazing feeling. We knew that the Vancouver Wolves were going to be tough opponents, and we had to bring our A-game if we wanted to win. But we stuck to our game plan, and we managed to get the job done in the end. Interviewer: Your team was down by two goals at one point, but you managed to tie it up and eventually win it in overtime. What changed for you guys in the third period? Elias Lampi: We knew we had to step up our game. We started to play more aggressively, and we put more pressure on their defense. We were able to capitalize on our opportunities, and that's what ultimately led to our success. Interviewer: Can you talk about the shorthanded goal that Hulk Hogan 2 scored, which you assisted on? Elias Lampi: Yeah, that was a huge moment for us. Hulk made a great play to intercept the puck and throw it to me with open space. I saw that he had a clear lane to the net. I made a quick pass to him, and he did the rest. It was a huge momentum swing for us, and it really helped us get back into the game. Interviewer: You took a double minor penalty for high sticking in overtime. Can you walk us through what happened there? Elias Lampi: Yeah, it was a mistake on my part. I was trying to make a play on the puck, and I ended up catching one of their players with my stick. It was a tough penalty to take, but our penalty kill did a great job of stepping up and keeping them off the scoreboard. Interviewer: Tavish DeGroot had a hat trick tonight. Can you talk about his performance? Elias Lampi: Tavish was incredible tonight. He's such a skilled player, and he was able to create a lot of opportunities for himself and his linemates. He really stepped up when we needed him the most, and we're lucky to have him on our team. Interviewer: The Seattle Bears are now moving on to the second round of the playoffs, where you'll be facing the Calgary Wranglers. What's your mindset going into this matchup, and how do you think the team will fare against Calgary? Elias Lampi: Thank you. We're really excited to have won the second round and to be moving on to the next one. The Calgary Wranglers are a tough team, but we've faced them before in the regular season, and we know what they're capable of. We'll be studying their game tape and preparing ourselves accordingly. Our mindset going into this matchup is to take it one game at a time, stay focused, and play to our strengths. We have a great group of guys, and we're confident in our abilities to come out on top. Interviewer: Well, Elias, it's been a pleasure talking to you. Congratulations on the win, and good luck in the next round of the playoffs. Elias Lampi: Thank you, it's been great talking to you too. We're excited for the challenge ahead, and we'll be giving it our all to make it to the next round. 544 words

Hey in terms of fantasy production it was rough for the Bears as a whole.

Howdy folks, and welcome to a Todd Ripley special report with the S87 VHFL drafts wrapping up! Here we will analyze the players who over and under performed for your fantasy teams last season and see what we can learn. Each player will be named and followed by their teams' average finishes in their groups. G Boris Tzesar (2.83)and G Cole Pearce (2.75) - Winners Both these Goalies were only selected in below 8 groups of the 17 which I think makes one thing clear about them, they weren't highly touted goalies, just get a decent one and have a strong roster in front of them. Just look at the rankings, the top 2 goalies in the consensus rankings we're Brandt Fuhr and Xavier Booberry who both came in 11th and 10th in the year end rankings at the position! F Zach Kisslinger II (4.65) - Loser When looking at the scoring system of the VHFL one thing stuck out to me last year: defensive stats for forwards are king. That said it made a ton of sense for GMs to draft the reigning Two-Way Forward of the Year. What many failed to notice is the fact that Zach had his monster defensive season on the Preds 2nd unit with much less capable players on the defensive side of the puck. This past season Zach got bumped up to the first line with Vasile Lamb, who really holds his own in front of his own net. Zach Kisslinger has the unfortunate circumstance of being the first player since Chad Magnum in S73 to not be a repeat Two-Way of the Year winner. Many expected us to see the Duncan Idaho of this crop of players, but alas the stars didn't align for Kisslinger and his owners felt it. F Vasile Lamb (2.29), F Brendan Marner (2.41), and F Girts Galvins (2.57) - Winners I've decided to just lump these three together as they are all on the same roster. They finished 1st, 4th, and 5th overall respectively in the average finish ranking among players selected to more than five teams. Let's start with Lamb. Everybody knew Lamb would be a stud but he has the honor of being number 1! Why the jump though? He played on the same line he did the season before. The answer is Kisslinger! In S85 as funny as it sounds Lamb was stunted by his then linemates Marner and Galvins! Both those players are high level scorers with defensive upside, same as Lamb. Kisslinger is a great passer that was able to feed the puck to Lamb a ton. Also, S86 rookie Jeff Buffy was a pretty solid passer himself while not taking shooting opportunities from a guy like Lamb. Now to Marner and Galvins. They both got moved away from Lamb who, once again, has a very similar play style to his former linemates. Marner was able to add 10 goals to his total from the year previous while Galvins took a major step forward as the 2nd scoring and defensive option on his line instead of third. Almost 27 more goals, 15 more assists, 33 more shots blocked, and a whopping 123 more hits! D Jerome Reinhardt (5.00) - Loser Jerome was a tougher one to diagnose the cause of this fall. Coming off a 99 point season and winning the Valiq and Campbell Trophies, people expected another big year for Reinhardt and instead his production fell off a cliff. It wasn't terrible but nothing close to what we saw in the award years. If I had to take a guess it was either a shift in line strategy or just the major overhaul to the 1st unit. In theory, it as a whole should have had similar numbers but S86 was a rough season for the top guys in London. All in all, London scored only 209 goals in S86. D Erlantz Jokinen (2.35) - Winner This is the first player we've mentioned that made a team swap heading into S86 with a shift from Calgary to Prague. His numbers were very similar to the last season despite the new scenery and some regression from age. I think many just underrated Prague as a team and with that their players. Also, it's hard to predict how a new team and GM will utilize a player versus a known quantity. All that I think played into Jokinen falling down boards and getting taken in rounds as late as the 5th in many groups. Honorable Mentions: D Jake Thunder (2.35) - Winner F Vinny Detroit (2.59) - Winner F Thomas Sogaard (2.60) - Winner D Tavish DeGroot (4.47) - Loser F Hulk Hogan 2 (4.83) - Loser F Ryan Vidot (4.85) - Loser F Florida Man (5.11) - Loser 750 ish words 1/29
