  1. @nurx I think honestly the record doesn't do my team justice. After the TDL we had the best record in the league I'm pretty sure, and we have 4 100+ TPE D-Men, huge advantage compared to your team with it's 2 very late additions to the D-core. Overall the Pope is a shoe in for Dman of the year and it isn't close. I also probably think he is the regular season MVP. Draft this man first overall!!!!
  2. Applying
  3. Tyler Swift was a +61?!?! Typo maybe. Also going to be tough against HFX. They got 2 more Dmen and Paard back right before the post season.
  4. Is possible to get like a 1-5 hour warning before Sims. I'm potentially going to have to temporarily swap AGMs to get slight lineup changes in but I could potentially be okay to do them myself.
  5. New favorite name. Quack, quack, quack!
  6. @Starchychaff
  7. AGM pls @Alex
  8. Love it though.
  9. Not to be that guy. But San Diego and Halifax should be swapped so that they are both with their conference
  10. @VaderTheTater Pls reply with Confirm.
  11. We also have our best Goalie on the roster playing only half the time.
  12. The VHLM trade deadline has come and gone, and the Philadelphia Reapers made a splash by acquiring forwards Dank Turtle and Zyn Westwood from the Las Vegas Aces. The move has the potential to shake up the standings and turn the Reapers into serious contenders. Dank Turtle is a skilled playmaker with a deadly shot. He has 62 points in 64 games played this season and has proven himself to be a reliable offensive threat. Zyn Westwood is a physical presence who can create havoc on the forecheck. He has 37 points in 60 games played this season and has shown flashes of brilliance with his speed and tenacity. The Reapers are thrilled to have added these two players to their roster. "We believe that Dank Turtle and Zyn Westwood are two of the best forwards in the league," said Reapers general manager, Woody Dickerson. "They both bring a unique skillset to our team and will be invaluable down the stretch." The acquisition of Dank Turtle and Zyn Westwood fills a void in the Reapers' lineup. "We've been looking for some scoring punch and some physicality up front," said Dickerson. "Dank and Zyn bring both of those things to the table. They're going to make us a tougher team to play against." Reapers fans are also excited about the trade. "I think it's a great move for the team," said longtime fan, Lisa Wilson. "We needed some help up front, and Dank and Zyn are exactly what we needed. I can't wait to see what they can do in a Reapers uniform." The trade deadline is always a hectic time for teams, and the Reapers were no exception. "It was a busy day for us," said Dickerson. "We had a lot of discussions with other teams, but in the end, we felt like Dank and Zyn were the best fit for us. They're both experienced players who have been through playoff runs before, even in their hockey careers before the VHLM. We think they can help us get to where we want to go." The Reapers are currently in third place in the VHLM's Eastern Conference, just two points behind the second-place Halifax 21st. The addition of Dank Turtle and Zyn Westwood could be the difference maker in the race for the home-ice advantage in Round 1. "We're not satisfied with just making the playoffs," said Dickerson. "We want to win a championship, and we believe that Dank and Zyn can help us do that. We have a strong group of players here, and we think that these two guys will fit right in." The Reapers have 8 games left in the regular season, and Dank Turtle and Zyn Westwood are expected to make their impact felt soon. The team is looking forward to seeing what they can bring to the table. "We're excited to have them on board," said Dickerson. "They're both great players and great people. We think they'll be a great addition to our team both on and off the ice." Reapers fans are eagerly anticipating the playoff debut of Dank Turtle and Zyn Westwood for the Reapers. "I can't wait to see them in action," said Wilson. "I think they're going to be a great addition to our team and help us make a deep playoff run." Only time will tell if the acquisition of Dank Turtle and Zyn Westwood will pay off for the Reapers, but one thing is for sure – the team is all in on making a push for the championship.
  13. i feel the same, Chet Steadman is his own man, that name can stand on its own. Dixon is similar to at least on current player so it will be a matter of one potentially overshadowing the other. Like with the McFleury's, Skor is the one i think of when i read that name
  14. @Steveare you debating between those two names for your next player? im just curious to learn more about whats up with these is all
  15. same as the other one i commented on... love the switch up and change of pace here. unique! keep it up pleeeeeease
  16. gonna look fire in a Reapers uni ... love the graphic, dont see many like this and its a pleasant change of pace from the usual
  17. @Trilleryou mad lad. Holy fuck that's incredible.
  18. @LastGoon007 @Starchychaff both of you got a shout-out here as well. Great work guys!
  19. @Starchychaff I see you I'm the hunt for the Skyler Rift Trophy should we win the Cup. Crucial member! I was worried when I drafted you bc you were inactive and I hadn't scouted you at all but can't be happier now. Glad to have you on board!
  20. I think that's what I was getting at with my original post. Like so far I've only done this and this I started this season. I see a player has not been offered a contract by a team. I can assume that they never clicked a join button. So after a day I just reach out. "Hey, I'm piffer, GM of Philly in the VHLM, if you have questions or need any help let me know" that type of thing. Im also against people going in and being like "hey I'm GM of the this team and you should really click the join button bc we are the best" The other alternative reason I pro DMing people is because that's sends an email notification. Idk if everyone's vhlforum is like this but those are the only emails I get (DMs). So it gives them that Gmail alert for this thing they happened to sign up for the day before and forgot about otherwise. It's how I got Bynum to return to VHL.
  21. To be clear, my question was about DMing to introduce yourself, your team, and offer a hand. Even now I have DMed every unsigned waiver player to offer them help in getting on A team. DMs is not the place to pitch. But getting my name and affiliation in their mind I think has to consequence of making me a more likely choice for them sure.
  22. @Gustav also, is it illegal for me as a GM to DM a new create and just say Hi and show them I'm active and around the second they create? If not then I say doing this could be a way for more active GMs to compete. I hate to do this but first two people in the league to interact with me were Shawn and Shindigs. And Shawn asked me to join his team first so I did, that's as simple as it was. He was active and teaching me so I chose him. Not his team, it's position, my playing time, it was Shawn that I chose. I think maybe instilling this mindset of "being on the forums and interacting with newbies can be a good idea" I'm not sure how AJ is doing on waivers but I know he welcomes practically every new member in their thread.
  23. To this point I think I discussed in the past with Nurx that he has 2 things working against him largely brand wise. 1 Miami is not a hockey city with hockey fans by in large. MIS, SSK, HFX, OTT can get more away with IMO shit logos because they also can draw from the crowd most likely to populate this league, good ole Canadian boys. Then comes the actual imagery. The Marauders logo I feel attracts a similar attention and coolness factor as people would see in the Reapers and Kings logos. People drawn to one I feel are likely drawn to the others. Cole has also said that he doesn't pull a lot of waivers bc usually he is stocked up post draft. So that leave Philly and Miami and frankly for me the key difference (despite an IMO worse logo) is the color scheme of the Reapers is better to me. Anyways that's my two cents on branding and how with no control over it I can totally understand how a team like Miami and more importantly the travesty that is the HFX logo fall behind in the waivers. And all animal logos are at an advantage bc animals are classic and great, tough to go very very wrong.
  24. @handfullofbubbadoes this weigh recent games more than earlier ones? Like my team in sim one obviously isnt as reflective of us as it is in sim 30. Idk just curious
