  4. As all of you know starting up as a first gen in the VHL can be very daunting. From intricate player creation to earning TPE to finding a team and preparing for drafts, it can all be so confusing, take it from someone who started this weekend! Even though there is so much to do, and very little instruction or explanations, if you can find someone to help you and take the time to explain it to you, it can make it extremely fun and a good way to pass time! Joining a team and hopping in a discord or a chat with some veterans can ease you into the league. With the help of @AJW @Triller and @KRZY ive been able to join a team and even get my first point! Ive also been able to come to understand how to go about improving my player and earning TPE more effeciently. Scouting reports and Media spots can also be challenging tasks with 400 and 500 word requirements and can seem like an impossible task but if you get some ideas off the “guidelines” article in every tab it can make it less insurmountable.
  5. Kyle Toms Age: 23 Ht: 6’ 3” Wt: 175 lbs Born: Edmonton, Alberta Born in Canada, Toms had a rougher upbringing than most. Having to walk to school uphill both ways built his leg muscles to ridiculous thickness giving him the edge in skating over most other players on his highschool team. Growing up as a Jets fan taught him continuous dissapointment and to never be satisfied and to never coast. Having to work early on to pay his own way through junior hockey taught him perserverence and to never give up Modeling his game after his favorite player Kyle Connor and setting his sights for The Show from a young age he focused on his shooting and offensive capabilities rather than his defensive efforts making him somewhat of a liability on the back end. Some of his better attributes include his offensive vision and his shot, be it wrist shot or slap shot, along with his ever developing stick handling. He has very little grit and is not much of a leader but he is the guy you trust to quarterback the power play in a do or die scenario. Where he lacks in passing skills, some would say, he more than makes up for in humor being a good guy to have to keep morale up in the locker room. While he is no Boulet nominee he may, if developed well and coached well, be a scoring title contender at some point in his career. There is alot of growing up and alot of development to do but this kid could be the missing piece to any offensive unit looking to gear up for a deep run into the playoffs or he might be a good piece to build around in the future if he can work on his all around game or if he can be supplemented by defensive minded players to pick up his slack. As a shooter first and a passer second he would rather take the shot and deal with the outcome rather than pass and leave the responsibility to someone else With hopes of being drafted in the 89th season he continues to practice hard and work on his game. Hard work and effort do pay off though thanks to the Houston Bulls organization and the front office giving the kid his first shot in the 88th season as a free agent signing!
