  3. I need some TPE and felt like doing a more fun media spot this time, so I’m gonna rank the top half of all the different logos in the VHL and the VHLM. #1 Los Angeles Stars This logo is damn near perfect. The black and gray in this logo work perfectly together and especially for this design. This design walks the fine line of being too minimalist and being too busy amazingly and looks the most like an actual logo out of all the VHL logos, I could really see this logo being used for a professional sports team in an actual league. #2 Halifax 21st I had a really tough time putting this design at #2 with how good it is. The boat is perfect, being a nice design but not drawing too much attention from the rest of the logo, the color scheme is great, the white and the blue work really well together. Though the best part of this design in my opinion is the fact that the circle has the design of a ring buoy on it with the blue stripes. #3 London United This is another absolutely amazing logo. The top of the shield being lined by a battlement of a castle and the silhouette of London Bridge are some amazing details, and the swords are noticeable but not too out of place with the rest of the design. #4 Las Vegas Aces The little details on this logo are some of the best out of any logo in the leagues. The use of a spade design in the middle of a diamond using two suits within a deck of cards is a great touch and the use of mirroring the green and black within really makes the logo pop as a whole and is very nice visually. The circular design underneath representing a poker chip with the alternating pattern of black and white squares really brings the logo together and gives it a nice shape creating a really aesthetically pleasing design. #5 HC Davos Dynamo There isn’t too much to say on why this logo is good, the purple is just a nice color and the mountain design representing the Kloster mountains of Davos are nice but overall this logo is just nice to look at. The biggest plus in the favor of this logo is how professional it looks, I could easily see this logo being used for a real team and it would look really nice on a jersey #6 San Diego Marlins The marlin in this logo is beautifully designed and has just the right amount of details to look realistic but to not be to crazy that it makes the logo hard to look at. The color scheme of this logo is one of the best I’ve seen, the blues and yellows work perfectly together to make for a great logo #7 New York Americans Similarly to the Davos logo this logo doesn’t really have much special about it other than that it is a well designed aesthetically pleasing logo with a great color scheme #8 Calgary Wranglers This logo is where the great logos end in my opinion, however this logo is still solid. I think the shape of the horseshoe and the horse work well together and fit really nice but I really do not like the color scheme of this logo. The grayish silver of the horseshoe and the white of the horse’s skin really clash and make the two blend together and the red of the horse’s mane seems almost out of place with the rest of the design. I think this logo really could be great with it’s current design but some new colors are needed badly. #9 Warsaw Predators This logo is pretty good. The design works with the name and is a nice intimidating design without much that really wows and I feel the same way with the color scheme as well, solid but not stunning. Overall this is a good logo but not as great as it could be with a branding like the predators #10 Philadelphia Reapers The design of this logo is absolutely amazing. It’s small and simple while easily being recognizable as a reaper. The writing fits perfectly in to the rest of the logo and is a great font. However this stunning design happens to be paired with one of the worst color schemes for a logo ever. Nothing about this color scheme screams reaper at all and the colors don’t even look right together. It ruins what could have been one of the best logos. However with how great the design is it still is able to be a middle of the road logo even after that. This design may not fully deserve the ranking I gave it but I’m obviously biased. #11 Mexico City Kings Pretty good logo with a solid color scheme and a solid design. The use of red in the outline of the design, the gem, and the collar of the king. The black and gold do a great job contrasting the red and combining together for a nice looking color scheme to make the logo pop. Overall a pretty solid logo that does it’s job and does it quite well. #12 Seattle Bears Pretty solid design with a menacing and fierce but not complicated bear design with a nice touch of the claw marks ripping through the letters and on the edge of the shield. The curvature of the shield outline around the ears and paws of the bear gives the logo a nice shape, however I think a lighter red and a more defined gold color could really make this logo much better and help it be a much more distinct, recognizable, and nicer looking logo #13 Helinski Titans Really not all that much to talk about with this logo. Does exactly what it means to and doesn’t stand out in a good way but doesn’t stand out in a bad way either. A design that’s just alright and an inoffensive color scheme makes for a fine enough logo for the titans. That’s it for the top 13 of all the teams in the league, I may or may not finish the rest of this list in a few weeks 1050 words
  4. 1. I think where we ended up was fine, the boys really improved down the stretch and I think we look good for next season 2. I always want my player to do better than he's doing, but overall from where I started TPE wise I think this season went well 3. I think Jackson Jeannot should really be the captain, he's a real active presence in the locker room and he's a vet from when the org won the cup in S95 4. Work with whatever team drafts me to optimize my player as best I can 5. Besides guys who will be active positive members of the great locker room spirit we have right now, I'm not really sure who would be the best for us to pick 6. I think we were missing real top end talent this year but guys like Seed, Jeannot, and Joy could all be that next season and whoever we draft should really help us
  5. Jakub Kovar Scouting Report Basics: | Position: LW | Height: 5’7” | Weight: 195 lb | Age: 17 years old | From: Czech Republic Pros Offensive Vision: Jakub has an innate knack for finding ways to secure points for his team. He has an uncanny ability to read defenses like a book and sees the game in a way many simply cannot. With the puck he’s always poised to make a beautiful pass into a dangerous area for one of his teammates, and without the puck he’s always moving to confuse defenses and get into prime positions to score off a rebound or a pass from his teammates. Shooting: Jakub is a sniper with a chance to get a goal from all areas of the offensive zone. Whether it be a hard slap shot from the blue line or a fancy wrist shot from in between the circles, Kovar is going to find a way to score from anywhere with either finesse or power. This great versatility in shooting can make him a real threat on the powerplay. Skating: Jakub is an outstanding skater with all the finesse and speed that you could ask of a player. He has the ability to blaze past his defenders on the rush and quickly get up ice for a 2 on 1 or a breakaway, and he can easily deke past and outsmart anybody standing in his way with a quick change of direction. This gives him an amazing control with the puck that can open up opportunities for himself or anybody else on his team. Mentality: Jakub is a high motor, scrappy player who is gonna give it his all on every shift. He will be the first guy into the practice facility and the last guy out always ready and willing to improve any part of his game that is required. Despite his smaller size he will be willing to go toe to toe with any player in the VHL and fight for every last puck on the forecheck and try to break up any pass or shot that he can on defense. His attitude and effort are great for the locker room and you will never catch Kovar without a smile on his face or bringing his teammates down on the bench. Cons Size: Even for a forward Kovar is small. Standing only five feet seven inches, his stature can give him a tough time on defense and can lead to him getting overpowered along the boards by larger forwards and defenseman. He somewhat makes this up with him having a lot of muscle for his height but it is still not enough to fully make up for his smaller size. Defense: Jakub is not known for his defensive ability. His size and positioning in his own zone leave much to be desired on the defensive side of the puck and he has shown little improvement in the department but he will no doubt be willing to work on it if it is asked of him. Overall Jakub Kovar is a great offensive prospect with tons of energy and a great mentality that will make him a great addition to any locker room, however his small size and lack of defensive skill leaves much to be desired from a two-way perspective. He would greatly improve the powerplay and offensive capability of any VHL team that picked him up and is overflowing with upside and potential to great.

  7. With the VHL and VHLM season coming to a close I figured it would be a fun challenge to look at the future of a few teams in the VHLM and analyze the players that will be returning to the team next year and how the teams may compete in the league next year. Halifax 21st: Players Departing- 5 Potential Returning TPE Total- 1971 Halifax is the clear favorite to take home the Founder’s Cup this season being 8 points clear of the second place Miami Marauders, and having the top 3 scorers in the league. General manager rory has done an excellent job preparing this team for the future after this season’s hopeful cup run. Losing Pelayo Bolivar, Ty Duke, and Inker Belle will be a huge blow but those 3 and starting goalie Chad Powers are the only high value players leaving with the team likely retaining wingers Xhekajs Middletoe, Hater Tottingham, Steven Nichols, center Michael Lee Jr, and their entire defensive unit. Backup first year goalie Kim Chi will have big shoes to fill in Powers’ absence but overall this team is well prepared to compete for multiple years. Miami Marauders: Players Departing- 13 Potential Returning TPE Total- 385 Miami will likely be regressing immensely after this season so these playoffs will be do or die for the Marauders. Their offense will lose their 3 best forwards in Elf Shoes, Filip Zinek, and Luc Moreau. The team is also likely to lose Jacob Longstreet which will leave their offense with only 3 returning players in center Sidney Sheppard, and center Andreas Andreasen. On the defensive side of the puck it doesn’t look much better. Armas Jortikka will be leaving for the VHL and Dog Jagr will likely also be leaving the M. Tina Hughes, Titus Cunningham, and Xavier Dumont will all be going to the VHLM Dispersal draft after signing with the team after the draft this season. Star goalie Drew Mac will be taking his talents to Helsinki and his backup Simms will be released for the VHLM draft. Team GM Ricer13 will have a lot of work ahead of him to right the ship and rebuild this Miami team after the season’s end. San Diego Marlins: Players Departing- 4 Potential Returning TPE Total- 2083 The Marlins have a solid roster headlined by players like Jean-Pierre Devote, Blaze Thunderstrike, Bubbles Lafleur, and lockdown goaltender Ricky Lafleur who will all be leaving for the VHL after this season. San Diego will be looking to S97 draft picks Cardinal Copia, Zak Trokker, and Joseph Poole to build on the impressive rookie seasons in S98 and lead the offensive unit. The biggest hole that general manager Mysterious_Fish and assistant EthanSea611 will have to fill in the offseason this year is goalie which will be left vacant with Ricky Lafleur departing from the team for the Los Angeles Star. The defensive unit is very similar to the forwards with multiple promising young players who could be key parts of the future success of the Marlins with Ron World Peace Jr and Victory Hockey League with the latter only potentially returning. With all these high potential players hoping to take strides forward in the coming seasons it seems like the Marlins should have high hope and only require a few moves to continue to be cup contenders next season.
  8. Jakub Kovar +10
  9. The Philadelphia Reapers have struggled mightily to start the season in the VHLM this year with just 11 points through 18 games, putting them dead last in the league and 3 points back of 9th place Mississauga. This comes as no surprise to experts who had the team picked to come in last. This year is the start of a rebuild for the franchise after winning the Prime Minister’s Trophy in S96 and winning the league the season prior. After the team’s heartbreaking loss in game 7 of the semifinals to the Mississauga Hounds the team lost several key players including Youre Not Fucking Retiring, Taylor Swift, and Einar Mathiesen who combined for 272 points and lead the team in scoring respectively to the VHL, they lost other players like starting goalie, Onyekachukwu Chidieber Oluwaseun to other VHLM teams in free agency. There is hope for the future however with the team’s top line of Jacob Seed, Jackson Jeannot, and Alto Reed performing well together, and 1st round pick defenseman Bazooka Joe and starting goalie Louis Burley showing great potential. This year for the reapers will be all about developing the talent they have on the roster right now for the future.
