You might've forgotten about this tough guy
slothfacekilla replied to Tetricide's topic in Graphics/Videos
Time for my first official graphic review! I have to say I really like this graphic a lot, I am a big sucker for graphics where the subject is in color with the rest of the image in black and white. You did a great job with that, I don't really see any color bleeding or any thing that distracts the viewer's eye. If I had to nitpick something with that, I think the small pant leg poking out under the arm of #7 could be purple as well if I'm seeing the photo correctly, but it isn't obvious to the viewer. It was smart to put the logo on the pants and doing the name swap on the jersey to give it the full VHL feel. Maybe you could hit the name swap with a slight perspective warp, but it doesn't feel out of place on the jersey. Putting the text behind the punch does a great job of giving the graphic depth and I like the color choices in the stats. It could be cool to see some effects on the name text at the top, whether some lighting effects or some sort of overlay that merges it into the graphic more. But overall this is very aesthetically pleasing to me, I think you did a great job. -
VHLM rookie Boing Boing is reinventing what it means to be a magician on the ice. Now my dear reader, you're probably thinking this means he is magic with the puck like Pavel Datsyuk and other "magicians" from the fake hockey league NHL. But no, Boing Boing is built different. Instead he is a magician because it seems like he has magically disappeared on his team the Las Vegas Aces. Boing's season started off great for the new VHLM player, scoring a goal in his first two games with Las Vegas, tricking the Aces fans into thinking they had something special with the rookie winger. He would put up 24 points total over the next stretch of 30 or so games, a semi-impressive output for Boing. Little did the Las Vegas fans know he was about to pull off his biggest trick yet: completely vanishing on the ice. After the strong start to the season, Boing has managed to go pointless in the last 10 games for the Aces. This is quite an impressive feat for the winger from Australia, as he is third on the team in ice time at just under 29 minutes a game. You would think that he would accidentally get a secondary assist somewhere, or maybe one of the actual good players on Las Vegas could bank a puck in off of him. But alas, Boing is merely skating around the ice doing nothing except getting his cardio in, leaving his teammates and fans wondering if he will ever put up a point again. It has been a rough stretch for Las Vegas lately, largely because of Boing's inability to generate offense for the team. It will be interesting to see if Boing will be able to dig himself out of this rut and help the Aces get back to their winning ways. 308 words

1. I hope I have time to! I'm looking to do a graphic of two of our VHL players fighting. 2. Right now I feel like my teammates have been pretty quiet in the LR so I'll take this time to shout out the GM's for being great 3. Lets go with The Milkman since being ruled by milk would be funny 4. I really liked Doug growing up, honestly couldn't go wrong with any of those Nickelodeon shows from back in the day 5. I'm a Wario type of guy when I'm playing Mario Kart 6. I guess I like Mexico a good amount, the crest on the flag is pretty cool -
Did this one with a semi-migraine so I'm not sure how I feel about it

1. In looking at the standings I'm a bit surprised to see San Diego last in the West. They seemed to have a strong team that merely under performed in the playoffs last season, and they still have some great players, so I'm shocked to see them there. 2. I'll say Jagger Bomb Jr. is our MVP so far, almost at a point per game! Our goalie Brian would also be a good choice with a .919 save perccentage 3. I don't feel strongly about this at all but I guess I'll say I'd move/rebrand Houston since half of the teams are American in the minors, so I'd probably move it somewhere in Mexico to give them another team 4. I was going to say In N Out but I think I would get sick of only burgers so I'll go with Taco Bell since they have more variety 5. Maybe some more music league participation or someone watering the tree! 6. Uranus because it is funny -

1. Hell ya we can! It is super early in the season and not time to panic! We've had some good wins already too, so if we keep stacking tpe and stay consistent (marathon not a sprint) we are going to make some noise 2. I feel like the league as a whole has been pretty helpful, it is very nice that there are a lot of people around willing to help and answer questions. I do have a how to earn tpe thread bookmarked which is really helpful, so maybe that could be pinned somewhere in the newcomers' section in the discord? 3. I'm hoping to have team success with a good group of people. I feel like if the team is doing well and I'm enjoying myself in the locker room then personal success for Boing will come too. But even if it doesn't, team success makes up for it! Selfishly I want him to hit a lot of people and chip in points when he can. 4. Oh man it is too early on a Monday to try to use my brain like this....Gordie Howe played in the NHL before Bobby Orr was born and was playing in it after Orr retired 5. Atlanta Thrashers because their jerseys were fun 6. Very tough question....some of my favorites are Snatch, Supertroopers, Grandma's Boy, Euro Trip, Saving Private Ryan....tough to decide. Most of the time it is my favorite comedy's from when I was younger! -
Love it, thank you dude!

1. I'm honestly looking forward to playing every team. I got a little taste of the league last season with my short San Diego stint, but Boing went pointless so I'm trying to forget it happened! So blank slate, every team is my rival. 2. I joined the Pro-Am and WJC tournaments, they were a lot of fun to get some more time for Boing. Though I think he went pointless again! But my teams had some success so it was fun. 3. So far it means good vibes, enjoying the music league and questions of the day (when people aren't being pedantic about what to bring on road trips!). Hopefully we'll add some winning to the mix when the season starts. 4. I'll say playing drums. I played a bit when I was in high school but never was very good. It seems like a lot of bands in my area need drummers so it would be easy to play a lot, maybe do some studio stuff. 5. Growing up my dad was a big Red Wings fan so watching games on tv and going to games in person with him got me hooked. Then starting to play really solidified it. 6. Brad Marchand, he seems like an awesome dude off the ice and pretty funny. Steve Yzerman so I could hear all the stories from his playing days (Halloween parties especially) and then talk about his vision for the Wings. Wayne Gretzky so I can push his dumbass into the ocean. -
Very excited to join Las Vegas, good stuff!

New goal celly dropped, get ready to see it a lot Mississauga!

As a new user I've really enjoyed the triva questions, it has helped me learn to navigate both the forums and portal a bit so it is a huge help. Learning about the league history is always cool too, appreciate the time put in to keep it running!
