This is a really cool intro to your player. I was able to step into your shoes of the experience the first time you stepped into the VHL rink. The sights and sounds are described very well and it felt like I was really there. The emotions you have as a new player in a new rink is really moving. To have your family greet you in the tunnel after the game is one of those truly great moments that only seem to come once or twice in a lifetime. You brought that to life. I thank you for that.

Wayne Greatzky has been working on his stick handling this offseason. He hired a new trainer to help him with this task. The esteemed Richard Simmons was hired and he has been running Wayne through a wild "Shake Weight" workout. The workout consists of Wayne juggling 4 greased up Shake Weights while pelting him with medicine balls. Wayne isn't sure exactly how this will help him with his stick handling, but he is excited to see the results once the offseason is done. He does know getting hit by medicine balls hurts and he has needed some extra time in the cold tub and the sauna. The second thing he is doing for his stick handling is by making his fingers more flexible and stronger. He has been going to Finger Snapping class at his local YMCA, and the teacher has been giving him extra time after class to show him advanced snaps. Wayne has got up to 99 snaps a minute and the decibel level is on the level of a bass drum. Quite impressive if you ask me. We will see how these things show up on the ice next season for Wayne. We have high hopes that Wayne will have a great year.

New week time to get that TPE! 1. The season is coming up fast! What are your expectations for the team? Do you have any goals for your player? Wayne Greatzky is a rookie this year so he doesn't have any expectations of joining the main Moscow team. The expectations for the team are still being learned as he gets to know the guys and their skill sets. My goals for my player are to get better, and learn more about the league and what is expected. 2. What did your player do in their free time this offseason that’s not hockey related? Wayne has been looking for apartments in the Moscow area. He knows he wont be with the team this year, but was looking to get a few ideas of where to live in a few years. 3. The team went out to the local bar for a team building night. It was karaoke night, what was your go to song to sing, did anyone impress you with their singing skills? My favorite song to sing at Karaoke is "Friends in Low Places" by Garth Brooks. Noone was very good at singing with the team. It sounded like a bar full of frogs. 4. Did you player try anything new this off season to try to improve their play? A new diet? A new workout routine? Wayne has been trying a new diet of Beef and more beef. Trying to gain a few lbs to hold my own against bigger Defenders. I added a nice "Shakeweight" workout routine to help with my hand quickness. 5. The team got some funding this offseason for the arena for making the finals, is there anything you want the team to invest in? I feel like Moscow needs a few Bidets in the locker rooms that have an additional option to turn to a Beer fountain. That would be fun and exciting for the team. 6. The team announced a new meal program, what is one food that has to be there? One food that can stay away? Beef Steak should be added to the Team menu. Any Vegan items should be sent to the garbage.

Wayne Greatzky doesn't know what team he will be drafted to, or at what pick. He could be drafted last. It doesn't matter to him. He has been drafted last before. The first year he was in winter league Midgets. He was 7 years old. He had just got a new pair of skates. He had a new pair of pads on and they felt a little uncomfortable. He was walking around the rink with a limp and the coaches all thought maybe he had some could of restriction to his movement. When it was time to pick the teams, all the coaches would look at his name, and pass him over. Wayne had to wait until the 11th round to be picked. 109 players picked before Wayne that day. 109 players that Wayne now had his sights on to crush the rest of the year. Sure, 10 of the players were his own teammates. He had the mindset that he had to be better than every single person picked before him. That year, Wayne wasn't great. But year 2, Wayne led all players in assists. Year 3 he became a dominant force. It might take time, but Wayne has the mindset to prove others wrong and to be the best. it's time for Wayne to shine as soon as he hears his name on draft day.

1. I celebrated the championship from my home gym. I am still a rookie, still need to work hard to get better. No time to rest when the guys above me in the draft have a leg up. 2. I would love to meet Gretzky. I can't imagine how many great stories he would have about the game, and the many battles over the years against some great teams. 3. I like to keep a list of all the other players in his draft class in his back pocket. These are the guys I will be going against for the next 10-15 years. I will know their strengths and weaknesses by heart and how to exploit them to help my team win. 4. I like some Nachos with a cold beer while watching a game. 5. My goals for the offseason are to continue to get better. Spend long arms on the ice to work on my puck handling, and get just a little bit faster on the breakaways. 6. I think the Jets-Stars series will be fun to watch. The top seed against the 2nd seed to eventually move on the face either The Golden Knights or the Oilers in the Western Conference finals. Should be some good games.
