  1. When GIYGAS declared for the Season 33 draft, there was considerable hype, as he was brought in by an agent in Damien Walec who was coming off a Hall of Fame player in Tukka Reikkinen. There was also plenty of skepticism from the league's executives because of Walec's diminishing presence in the league towards the very end of Reikkinen's career as well as GIYGAS' pre-draft season, leading to a less-than-impresive total of practice hours going into the draft. GIYGAS slipped a bit to the seventh overall draft choice, but has since failed to make a significant impact on the league. Following a decent rookie year, GIYGAS' improvement from year 1 to year 2 was miniscule. At this point, he was not showing up to practice at all, which caused his third season (his first with Seattle after being traded from Calgary) to fall flat. Things came to a fever pitch when, in the league's inaugural Victory Cup, GIYGAS was a total nonfactor, scoring just 5 points in 20 games. Today, he decided to turn things around.

"I'm definitely rusty, but what can you expect when I've played the last season and change without any practice," GIYGAS said "But playing in the Victory Cup, barely being a factor for my team and being easily pushed over, it brought me back to when I was a draft prospect and what I had imagined for myself in my career. And obviously, I hadn't expected to be playing that poorly in my third season. So I decided I had to re-commit myself."

GIYGAS is playing on a two year deal with Seattle, but there is some speculation about his plans considering next year holds a mutual option. When asked which direction he's leaning, GIYGAS responded, "I'd love to stay in Seattle, honestly, but as of right now, I'm weighing all of my options." With a strong push in practice this year, GIYGAS could attract mid-level interest on the open market.

  2. Mine has nothing to do with butthurt. I think you are out of the loop. So many people hated the idea from day 1 of the first season when it came to Vasteras, hell no one knew where the fuck it was and Pensfan was an idiot for going through with it. Im not butthurt, just hate when stupid ideas come to fruition.

I didn't really think you were anyways.

Yes, because that Vasteras team was so quiet and won with grace.

Kinda like the Davos team, right?

  3. butthurt

Nah not really. At this point I'd be fine with a relocation, and I can completely understand people disliking the location, but the only other real reason that people cite for hating the franchise makes them sound like the ones that were butthurt (problems with Pensfan, problems with the most recent cup team despite the fact that much more annoying and chirpy teams, like Kyle's Volkov-era Davos, are remembered fondly in retrospect).

  4. What playbook? It consists of throw to Dez, throw to Witten, hand off to Demarco.

Nah, they completely took hand off to Demarco out of their second half playbook. They have a couple of designed interceptions in there too. It's all very complicated and requires a QB with the knowledge of the playbook to run it all correctly.

  5. Kitna is also 42 years old and will have had 1 week of practice with the team.

Which is why I said that it's a decent signing for an emergency QB if he's in good shape. Would it be better if they brought in a guy in slightly better physical shape (because no QB who's been an FA all year is gonna be in good throwing shape right now) but absolutely no knowledge of the playbook coming in?

Which one would that be, because I would argue that McCown's statistics this year are better than any of Kitna's individual seasons...  Most notably his 2010 season with Dallas, which is his closest to McCown's current 109 QBR.  Kitna also led a team to 0-16 lol.

Sorry my post was unclear, I meant his best year going into this year. Jon Kitna also had a grand total of 4 starts in the 0-16 season before getting hurt, but that's beside the point.

  6. Kitna proved he could be effective in his most recent NFL action. As long as he stayed in good shape, given his knowledge of the Cowboys' offense, he could be decent if the team needed.

Keep in mind Josh McCown was coaching high school last year and his best year is not nearly on par with Kitna's.
