The Chicago Phoenix, ever since losing the first four games of the season, have decided they have something to prove and have been among the hottest teams in the league. Since starting the season 0-4-0 the Phoenix have managed to go 27-2-3 and are second in the North American conference as well as second in the entirety of the VHL. How are they doing this you ask? Is it a dominant defense? High scoring offense? Stout goaltending?

It is actually all of the above. They are currently second in the league in goals for with 155. They are first in goals against with only 91 which is a crazy number because no other team has fewer than 103 on the season. They are currently being led on the score sheet by the duo of Lee Xin and Julian Nousiainen and on the back end by veterans Matty Socks and Kasper Kankkunen. In net Chicago career man Jean Pierre Camus is leading the league’s starters in save percentage, goals against average and shutouts.

What has this overall team play led to? The Chicago Phoenix are currently on a 15 game winning streak and are closing the gap on the conference leading Vancouver Wolves.
