Story Time - Chapter I

Chapter 1 – Jean-Luc

 

Fog. Fog everywhere.

 

“Stay close, everyone!”

 

The dense mist around the group seems to muffle every sound and Jean-Luc feels like it is almost completely swallowing his words. He sees his companions as they are following the road, but doesn’t hear their steps at all.

 

“We heard you the first time, buddy”, an annoyed Jon replies. Jean-Luc hears the big man’s voice somewhere behind him but he doesn’t turn around. “The guy is already annoying enough, I don’t need to see his stupid face too”, Jean-Luc tells himself as he continues walking. Somewhere on his right Norton is rolling his eyes. The scientist, or at least that’s what he claims to be, is still wearing his dirty lab coat and looks as detached as ever. Jean-Luc finds himself wondering what this guy is even offering to this group, and it’s not the first time these thoughts crawl into his mind. Even if he is a brilliant physicist and not just an ordinary crazy person, how does that benefit them in any way? He certainly looks like he would be useless in any kind of physical confrontation and so far he hasn’t exactly been someone who helps elevate group moral either.

 

Walking a few feet in front of him are the last two members of their group, Sara and Patrick. Both act like they didn’t hear Jon’s snarky comment, but Jean-Luc knows that the caught every word and just decided that they want nothing to do with it. The two of them are just as much of an enigma to him as Norton, “or maybe I’m just not very good at reading people”, Jean-Luc contemplates.

All of a sudden Patrick stops. It takes the rest of them only a second to catch up to him and he nods towards a sign at the side of the road.

 

“Landwirtschaftlicher Verkehr frei“

 

”Does anyone know what it says?“, Sara asks, but her question is only followed by silence until finally it is Jon who raises his voice: “Of all the places to be when the end of the world strikes… Why did it have to be fucking Germany?”

 

 

 

[You can find more information about this story, including a description on how you can become a part of it, in the opening post here. Since this is the very first chapter of the story and we don't really know the characters yet, there will be no poll at the end of this one, but this will be the only time I do it like this. The next part is almost finished already, and there will be a vote at the end of that one.

 

PS: This is almost long enough to be a Media Spot but I submitted it as a XM Radio because it isn't really hockey related. If I would actually be allowed to submit these things as Media Spots then please let me know, would make things a whole lot easier for me obviously and it would also make the chapters a bit longer I guess .]

Technically your doing this with input and interaction from the VHL community. All of their characters are in the story and the community will be able to vote as well. So I'd argue that you could probably submit it as a media spot. It doesn't have to be hockey related, just league related.

I don't see why these couldn't be media spots. Its interactive, and multiple members are apart of it. I'd grade it

Great start. really want to find out who submitted each character. I like the mystery surrounding it, it should definitely count as a media spot when you hit the word count

Yeah I agree with Green. Romanes should post a character list, with very little details other than small ones like name and we should all vote/guess on who we are. Privately of course, since those who have participated don't want to give details away.
