osens 297
Until the new league - VHLE - was created the usual path to VHL was simple. Two seasons in VHLM and you are in the big league with dangerous sharks, but now the road to glory is longer. Omi Aberg, a prospect from Islands, played his 2 seasons in VHLM but last year added another season in VHLE being a part of the newly created Stockholm Vikings. How impactful this change will be for prospects, only time will tell. One thing is for sure - everywhere where Aberg went, he has played very well and has been able to score a lot of goals and give a lot of assists. He was able to get 121 points in 70 games in VHLE so he is looking really ready for an eventual VHL debut with Vancouver Wolves, but the Wolves themselves haven't been doing too bad, they will be going in the next season as S80 VHL champions. How will Aberg fit in the team full of stars and established players, it will be a sight to see, but if Aberg can recreate even something similar to his time in Stockholm, then Vancouver Wolves will be even stronger than last season. Coming into the next season Omi Aberg will be #2 ranked C in the team, but Wolves could be looking to strengthen their team and contend for the championship for another season and it could change the situation with centers. Wolves are very young and this team will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come and hopefully, Omi Aberg will be able to find his place in the team and find a way to help his new teammates and team. There have been 2 long seasons since the draft when Omi Aberg was drafted in the first round by Vancouver Wolves, since then a lot of prospects have been declared as busts or some have even overperformed their draft pick, but Aberg, for now, hasn't been a bust and hopefully he will continue his great form in VHL. Omi Aberg working hard in the gym. This off-season Omi Aberg has been working on fundamentals. Aberg believes that his technicals are great and his points have been showing it, but the game is much faster and more physical in the big league, so that's why Aberg wants to be faster on the ice and be more generally tough. Aberg is a really hard-working player on the ice and off it too. He wants to leave everything on the ice and he will be the first one back on defense and the first one in the offensive zone, but in his VHLM seasons it was pretty easy to see that in the 3rd period Omi Aberg was fatigued and his stamina was not the best, but this year he has been working really hard on his stamina, but only playing in real VHL match will tell how hard he has worked this off-season and if he will have changed something in his game. His training looks impressive and hopefully, he will continue to impress his fans all around the world. Greg_Di 1,028
Review: Great article that follows along Omi Abergs rise through the league. I always enjoy reading about how other players are doing and this was a well thought out media post. Length and spacing are good and the picture add a nice touch to the article. Nice touch to see what he has been working on in the off-season and how he believes that will help him get to the big league. Well done! 9/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/111324-catching-up-with-aberg/#findComment-885557 Share on other sites
Telkster 550
Review: Great article about a rookie trying to fit into a team of stars! I enjoyed your writing flow and description of Aberg. I feel like I know your player a lot better after reading your article. The picture you included is a nice addition. I would personally add some kind of title, or maybe a bit of colour here and there just to spice it up a tad more. also maybe just refer to him as Omi Aberg the first time, then just do “Aberg” every time after that in at least your paragraphs. Other then that, really good work overall! 8.5/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/111324-catching-up-with-aberg/#findComment-885559 Share on other sites
KC15 340
Review: Very much enjoyed this article. Not just a look back over three seasons leading up to the VHL, but a nice look forward looking to see how he might fit into the Wolves when he gets there. Excellent analysis that he is currently the 2nd rated C which certainly would cement his position as a starter, but that Vancouver could look elsewhere in FA or trades which could change Aberg's fortunes. Nice to spice it up with a graphic that matched the talk of working on stamina. 8.5/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/111324-catching-up-with-aberg/#findComment-885564 Share on other sites
ROOKIE745 608
review: hello my former teammate once again, hope you don't mind a fourth review. The lay out of your MS is very good and it looks very neat and clean. I always love your effort to include a picture as it just helps capture the moment more, and how we should feel. (if the piece is trying to be immersive that is) the coverage on Omi Aberg is great to as he prepares to enter the VHL. There is some odd word choices though, it never confused me what you were trying to say but it didn't exactly flow either, like reading it out loud it just sounds odd and feels like words were forgotten. (Something I've done a lot lol) Overall still great and a good read 8.5/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/111324-catching-up-with-aberg/#findComment-885581 Share on other sites
