Why the Houston Bulls Absolutely WILL Defeat Mexico And Go On To Win THE FOUNDER'S CUP!!

Recommended Posts

We are deep into the playoffs now, and the VHLM is buzzing about the current series between the Mexico City Kings and the Houston Bulls.  Many pundits across the community have pegged the Bulls to win the Founder's Cup this season and while the road to the Cup was pretty dominant in the regular season, the playoffs have a bit more interesting to say the least. While they did manage to defeat Halifax in five games, many were surprised that the series wasn't a total blowout. Right when the Bulls seemingly silenced their critics after two convincing wins to start out their semi-final with the Kings, games three and four of the series both resulted in blowout losses which saw the Kings outscore the Bulls 14-4/. The Bulls didn't suffer losses like that at any point in the regular season. While this may have been time for panic in most clubhouses, the Bulls stayed calm and confident, and earlier tonight they answered with a 7-5 win of their own to go up 3-2 in the series.

Now the Bulls have two chances to overthrow the Kings for a shot at the throne. Up until Game 5, Scotty Sundin has had a very lethargic series, often times seeming to be invisible out there on the ice. But finally the fans got what they wanted tonight as  Sundin finished the game with a goal and three assists and captured the games first star. It had been a long time coming, but luckily Houston's depth has been on display all playoffs thus far. Seven players are producing over a point per game in the ten games the Bulls have played in this year's postseason. Most noticeably winger Nine has been a revelation as  he leads the team with five goals and eleven assists for 16 total points, and of his five goals, two of them were game winners.

A big reason why the Bulls will find a way to win though, is it's leadership. Despite Sundin's streaky results in the playoffs, he still takes his role as captain very seriously, and along with his assistant captains Hammer Voss and AirRaid GoodBrandSon, the three act as a calming voice in the locker room. The players who have been there all year, along with the guys brought in via trade and even the late season waiver claims are all bonded as one fluid unit. Ivan Retoslav has really stepped up as a huge locker room presence during his time as a Bull also, as he is often seen as "the glue guy" in the dressing room. Everyone is playing for each other out there. After two rough games that saw the series get tied, there was no panic, no internal arguing. Just pure focus and determination. Everyone knows what need to be done to get the job done and THAT is why the Bulls will emerge as champions this season! Surely nothing could ever stop them from achieving their dreams of being Founder's Cup winners!
