Future VHLer

As I sat down to write up something incredibly interesting and thought-provoking I caught a glimpse of my son, Wesley, spinning in circles on the carpet. He's not at the point of full-blown crawling, but is able to spin to right, endlessly. I'm honestly quite surprised that he doesn't make himself dizzy. I mean, I get dizzy if I stand up too fast, but whatever. Right now, as he looks up to me with a big ol' smile, I can't help but think about one of the most important days of his life that will come up in the future, the day when he creates a player in the VHL. The real question will be, when? What is the cognitive ability he has to be at in order to have a player and manage that player on his own? Well, I'm not sure. Kids seem to be increasingly advanced with their level of comprehension when it comes to things of technology. Needless to say, once he's able, you know he'll have his own player. Just you wait, VHL. Just you wait.

Embrace this stage while you can. Once they start moving they never stop. I miss the lumpy potato stage where he’d stay put when I set him somewhere.

Honestly, I miss when he'd just chill in my arms. Now, he wiggles and tries to escape. Pretty soon he'll be running around like a bat out of hell.

next stage is gripping anything in reach to pull himself upright. Once he manages that, everything you cherish needs to be put away one level higher. Not meaning that he is going to maliciously destroy stuff of course. But in that stage they do not comprehend and/or care and they are clumsy. So any vase you are fond of or anything else fragile needs to be moved. ;) cherish his relative immobility as long as it lasts, there never is a way back from gained mobility (and hence more ability to make mischief).

Also for the Record:

Hi @wessalesawaywiththrasher,

Welcome  to the VHL. I am the GM of the Mississauga Hounds and @Ente2997 is my AGM. We would love you to join us in our quest for glory.

The Hounds encourage locker room activity and the management and the Alumni are always willing to help to develop your player. We encourage you to build the player as you imagine him to be, but also offer assistance if you are at a loss how to achieve your preferred build.

If you want to be part of our team and we could attract your interest, please quote this message and add #releasethehounds. We will send you an invitation to our discord channel (this is not mandatory but helps enormously with communication) and a contract which kindly accept in order to join us.

Whatever team you decide to join, we wish you best of luck and more importantly lots of fun in our community.

Yea. We decided to baby proof the house in levels. As he starts getting more mobile and able to pull himself up we'll be baby proofing more.
