dogwoodmaple 380 Posted September 5, 2022 Share Posted September 5, 2022 In an exciting gold medal game, Team Eastern Europe was able to top the Canadians and bring home the gold. After a scoreless first period, both teams ratcheted up the offense and the goals started. Eastern Europe netted a pair of goals in the second period to jump out to a 2-0 lead, but the Canadians weren't going to go down without a fight. They found the back of the net, thanks to a goal from Aurelien Moreau, which cut the deficit to 2-1 as the teams went to the final period. Unfortunately for the Canadians, they couldn't make any headway in the final period, as they traded a pair of goals with Eastern Europe, before Team EE found the empty net to end any comeback hopes.
